I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a
settled place for thee to
abide in for ever.
I have indeed built You an
exalted house, a place for You to dwell
forever.”
And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
And there I have provided a place for the ark, which contains the covenant of the LORD that He made with our fathers when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
For thou
didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”
But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
But if indeed you or your sons turn away from following Me and do not keep the commandments and statutes I have set before you, and if you go off to serve and worship other gods,
For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken
Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the
Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
Pharaoh king of Egypt had attacked and captured
Gezer. He had
set it on fire, killed the
Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it as a
dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel, He has made you king to carry out justice and righteousness.”
And they arose out of
Midian, and came to
Paran: and they took men with them out of
Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him
victuals, and gave him land.

set out from
Midian and went to
Paran. They took men from
Paran with them and went to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave
Hadad a house and land and provided him with food.
And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David

set the one in

And
Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the
fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in
Bethel, sacrificing unto the
calves that he had made: and he placed in
Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.
And
Jeroboam ordained a feast on the
fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the feast that was in Judah, and he offered sacrifices on the altar; he made this offering in
Bethel to sacrifice to the
calves he had
set up, and he
installed priests in
Bethel for the high places he had
set up.
So he offered upon the altar which he had made in
Bethel the
fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.
On the
fifteenth day of the eighth month, a month of his own choosing,
Jeroboam offered sacrifices on the altar he had
set up in
Bethel. So he ordained a feast for the Israelites, offered sacrifices on the altar, and burned incense.
And
Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to

Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

And he reared up an altar for
Baal in the house of
Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
First,

Baal in the temple of
Baal that he had built in Samaria.
And
Ahab made a
grove; and
Ahab did more to
provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
Then he
set up an Asherah pole. Thus
Ahab did more to
provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel before him.
In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build
Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in
Abiram his
firstborn, and
set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of
Nun.
In
Ahab’s days, Hiel the Bethelite rebuilt
Jericho. At the cost of
Abiram his
firstborn he laid its foundation, and at the cost of Segub his youngest he
set up its gates, according to the word that the LORD had spoken through Joshua son of
Nun.
And
Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of
Gilead, said unto
Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be
dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
Now
Elijah the Tishbite, who was among the
settlers of
Gilead, said to
Ahab, “As surely as the LORD lives—the God of Israel before whom I stand—there will be neither
dew nor rain in these years except at my word!”
And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and
slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after
Elijah, and ministered unto him.
So
Elisha turned back from him, took his pair of oxen, and slaughtered them. With the oxen’s
equipment, he
cooked the meat and gave it to the people, and they
ate. Then he
set out to follow and serve
Elijah.
And it came to pass, when Ben-
hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants,
Set yourselves in
array. And they
set themselves in
array against the city.
Ben-
hadad received this message while he and the kings were drinking in their tents, and he said to his servants, “Take your positions.” So they stationed themselves against the city.
And Ben-
hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said
Ahab, I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.
Ben-
hadad said to him, “I will restore the cities my father took from your father; you may
set up your own marketplaces in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.” “By this treaty I release you,”
Ahab replied. So he made a treaty with him and sent him away.
And she wrote in the letters, saying,
Proclaim a fast, and
set Naboth on high among the people:
In the letters she wrote: “
Proclaim a fast and give
Naboth a seat of honor among the people.
And
set two men, sons of
Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou
didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them
testify, ‘You have
cursed both God and the king!’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”
They proclaimed a fast, and
set Naboth on high among the people.
They proclaimed a fast and gave
Naboth a seat of honor among the people.
And there went a
proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.

set out from Samaria and
mobilized all Israel.
So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of
Edom: and they
fetched a compass of seven days’ journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.
So the king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of
Edom set out, and after they had traveled a
roundabout route for seven days, they had no water for their army or for their animals.
And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
Then go inside, shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour oil into all these jars, setting the full ones aside.”
Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us
set for him there a bed, and a table, and a
stool, and a
candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
Please let us make a small room
upstairs and put in it a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp for him. Then when he comes to us, he can stay there.”
So she went and came unto the man of God to mount
Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her
afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold,
yonder is that Shunammite:
So she
set out and went to the man of God at Mount
Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to his servant Gehazi, “Look, there is the Shunammite woman.
And
Elisha came again to
Gilgal: and there was a
dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant,
Set on the great pot, and
seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.
When
Elisha returned to
Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting at his feet, he said to his
attendant, “Put on the large pot and
boil some
stew for the sons of the prophets.”
And his
servitor said, What, should I
set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.
But his servant asked, “How am I to
set twenty
loaves before a hundred men?” “Give it to the people to eat,” said
Elisha, “for this is what the LORD says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’”
So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.
So he
set it before them, and they
ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.
And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of
raiment.
“Go now,” said the king of
Aram, “and I will send you with a letter to the king of Israel.” So
Naaman departed, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten
sets of clothing.
And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.
“Everything is all right,” Gehazi replied. “My master has sent me to say, ‘I have just now discovered that two young men from the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.’”
And
Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.
But
Naaman insisted, “Please, take two talents.” And he urged Gehazi to accept them. Then he
tied up two talents of silver in two bags along with two
sets of clothing and gave them to two of his servants, who carried them
ahead of Gehazi.
And he answered, Thou shalt not
smite them: wouldest thou
smite those whom thou hast taken
captive with thy sword and with thy bow?
set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.
“Do not kill them,” he replied. “Would you kill those you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and then return to their master.”
Elisha fixed his
gaze steadily on him until
Hazael became uncomfortable. Then the man of God began to
weep.
And
Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou
wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds
wilt thou
set on fire, and their young men
wilt thou
slay with the sword, and
wilt dash their children, and
rip up their women with child.
“Why is my lord
weeping?” asked
Hazael. “Because I know the evil you will do to the Israelites,”
Elisha replied. “You will
set fire to their fortresses, kill their young men with the sword,
dash their little ones to pieces, and
rip open their
pregnant women.”
And
Joram said, Make ready. And his
chariot was made ready. And
Joram king of Israel and

chariot, and they went out against

Naboth the Jezreelite.
Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.
select the best and most worthy son of your master, set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”
And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,
And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
Then
Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money brought as sacred gifts into the house of the LORD—the census money, the money from vows, and the money brought
voluntarily into the house of the LORD.
But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the
lid of it, and
set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.
Then Jehoiada the priest took a chest, bored a hole in its
lid, and
set it beside the altar on the right side as one enters the house of the LORD. There the priests who guarded the
threshold put all the money brought into the house of the LORD.
Then
Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against
Gath, and took it: and
Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
At that time
Hazael king of
Aram marched up and fought against

In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and carried away the Israelites to Assyria, where he settled them in Halah, in Gozan by the Habor River, and in the cities of the Medes.
And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
They set up for themselves sacred pillars and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.
And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from
Ava, and from
Hamath, and from
Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
Then the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva,
Hamath, and
Sepharvaim and
settled them in the towns of Samaria to replace the Israelites. They took possession of Samaria and lived in its towns.
And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which
slew some of them.
Now when the settlers first lived there, they did not worship the LORD, so He sent lions among them, which killed some of them.
Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the
Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
Nevertheless, the people of each nation continued to make their own gods in the cities where they had settled, and they set them up in the shrines that the people of Samaria had made on the high places.
And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes:
The king of Assyria exiled the Israelites to Assyria and settled them in Halah, in Gozan by the Habor River, and in the cities of the Medes.
Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.
Now, therefore, make a
bargain with my master, the king of Assyria. I will give you two thousand horses—if you can put riders on them!
And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of
Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto
Hezekiah, saying,
In those days was
Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD,
Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
In those days
Hezekiah became
mortally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him and said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Put your house in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”
And he
set a
graven image of the
grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
Manasseh even took the carved Asherah pole he had made and
set it up in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will establish My Name
forever.
And the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of
Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which
Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and
brake them down from thence, and cast the dust of them into the
brook Kidron.
He pulled down the altars that the kings of Judah had
set up on the roof near the upper chamber of
Ahaz, and the altars that
Manasseh had
set up in the two courtyards of the house of the LORD. The king
pulverized them there and threw their dust into the Kidron Valley.
Moreover the altar that was at
Bethel, and the high place which
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he
brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the
grove.
He even pulled down the altar at
Bethel, the high place
set up by
Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin. Then he burned the high place, ground it to powder, and burned the Asherah pole.
And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to
provoke the LORD to anger,
Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in
Bethel.
Just as
Josiah had done at
Bethel, so also in the cities of Samaria he removed all the shrines of the high places
set up by the kings of Israel who had
provoked the LORD to anger.
And out of the city he took an officer that was
set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king’s presence, which were found in the city, and the principal
scribe of the host, which
mustered the people of the land, and
threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
Of those still in the city, he took a court official who had been appointed over the men of war, as well as five royal advisors. He also took the
scribe of the captain of the army, who had
enlisted the people of the land, and sixty men who were found in the city.
And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon;
And he spoke kindly to

set his throne above the thrones of the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
And all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto
Baal. These were their habitations, and their
genealogy.
and all their surrounding villages as far as
Baal. These were their
settlements, and they kept a
genealogical record:
And these written by name came in the days of
Hezekiah king of Judah, and
smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their flocks.
These who were noted by name came in the days of
Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites and Meunites there in their dwellings,
devoting them to destruction even to this day. Then they
settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks.
And
Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of
Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto
Nebo and
Baal-meon:
Jeiel the chief,
Zechariah, and
Bela son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of
Joel. They
settled in Aroer and as far as
Nebo and
Baal-meon.
And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of
Gilead.
They also
settled in the east as far as the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates River, because their
livestock had increased in the land of
Gilead.
Now the people of the half-tribe of
Manasseh were numerous. They
settled in the land from
Bashan to
Baal-
hermon (that is, Senir, also known as Mount
Hermon).
And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after that the ark had rest.
These are the men David put in charge of the music in the house of the LORD after the ark rested there.
Now these are their dwelling places throughout their castles in their coasts, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites: for theirs was the lot.
Now these were the territories assigned to the descendants of Aaron from the Kohathite clan for their settlements, because the first lot fell to them:
And their possessions and habitations were,
Bethel and the towns thereof, and eastward Naaran, and westward
Gezer, with the towns thereof;
Shechem also and the towns thereof, unto
Gaza and the towns thereof:
Their holdings and
settlements included
Bethel and its villages, Naaran to the east,
Gezer and its villages to the west, and
Shechem and its villages as far as Ayyah and its villages.
All these which were chosen to be
porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their
genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the
seer did
ordain in their
set office.
The number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by
genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the
seer had appointed them to their positions of trust.
For these Levites, the four chief
porters, were in their
set office, and were over the chambers and
treasuries of the house of God.
But the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the rooms and the
treasuries of the house of God.
And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the
firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the
set office over the things that were made in the pans.
A
Levite named Mattithiah, the
firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with
baking the bread.
They arose, all the
valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to
Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in
Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
all their men of
valor set out and
retrieved the bodies of Saul and his sons and brought them to
Jabesh. And they buried their bones under the oak in
Jabesh and fasted seven days.
And they
set themselves in the midst of that
parcel, and delivered it, and
slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great
deliverance.
But
Eleazar and David stationed themselves in the middle of the field and defended it. They struck down the Philistines, and the LORD brought about a great victory.
Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.
He was most honored among the Thirty, but he did not become one of the Three. And David appointed him over his guard.
So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.
So they brought the ark of God and placed it inside the tent that David had pitched for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to
Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.
After David had
settled into his palace, he said to
Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a house of
cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.”
But I will
settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for
evermore.
But I will
set him over My house and My kingdom
forever, and his throne will be established
forever.”
Now when
Joab saw that the battle was
set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in
array against the Syrians.
When
Joab saw the battle lines before him and behind him, he selected some of the best men of Israel and
arrayed them against the Arameans.
And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of
Abishai his brother, and they
set themselves in
array against the children of
Ammon.
And he placed the rest of the forces under the command of his brother
Abishai, who
arrayed them against the
Ammonites.
And it was told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and
set the battle in
array against them. So when David had put the battle in
array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
When this was reported to David, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan, advanced toward the Arameans, and
arrayed for battle against them. When David lined up to
engage them in battle, they fought against him.
And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to
weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was
set upon David’s head: and he brought also exceeding much
spoil out of the city.
Then David took the crown from the head of their king. It was found to
weigh a talent of gold and was
set with precious stones, and it was placed on David’s head. And David took a great amount of
plunder from the city.
Then the angel of the LORD commanded
Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and
set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
Then the angel of the LORD ordered
Gad to tell David to go up and build an altar to the LORD on the
threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he
set masons to
hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
So David gave orders to gather the foreigners in the land of Israel, from whom he appointed stonecutters to prepare finished stones for building the house of God.
Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
Now set your heart and soul to seek the LORD your God. Get started building the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy articles of God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD.”
Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:
“Of these,” said David, “24,000 are to oversee the work of the house of the LORD, 6,000 are to be officers and judges,
The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should
sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to
bless in his name for ever.
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron and his descendants were
set apart
forever to
consecrate the most holy things, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister before Him, and to
pronounce blessings in His name
forever.
And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
Whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts, they were to serve regularly before the LORD in the numbers prescribed for them.
Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of
Asaph, and of Heman, and of
Jeduthun, who should
prophesy with harps, with
psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
Additionally, David and the commanders of the army
set apart some of the sons of
Asaph, Heman, and
Jeduthun to
prophesy with the
accompaniment of lyres, harps, and cymbals. The following is the list of the men who performed this service:
Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood;
onyx stones, and stones to be
set,
glistering stones, and of
divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
Now with all my ability I have made provision for the house of my God—gold for the gold articles, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the wood, as well as

Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them.
Then
Hiram king of Tyre wrote a letter in reply to Solomon: “Because the LORD loves His people, He has
set you over them as king.”
And he
set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and
fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to
set the people a work.
Solomon made 70,000 of them

And the greater house he cieled with

cypress, which he overlaid with fine gold and decorated with palm trees and chains.
And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand

Then he

pillar on the south he named

pillar on the north he named Boaz.
It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
The Sea stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The Sea rested on them, with all their hindquarters toward the center.
And he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.
He made ten gold lampstands according to their specifications and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north.
And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.
He put the Sea on the south side, at the
southeast corner.
