A sword is upon the liars; and they shall
dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.
A sword is against her false prophets, and they will become fools. A sword is against her warriors, and they will be filled with terror.
A sword is upon their horses, and upon their
chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be
robbed.
A sword is against her horses and
chariots and against all the foreigners in her midst, and they
will become like women. A sword is against her
treasuries, and they
will be
plundered.
A
drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of
graven images, and they are
mad upon their idols.
A
drought is upon her waters, and they
will be dried up. For it is a land of
graven images, and the people go
mad over idols.
Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
So the desert creatures and
hyenas will live there and ostriches
will dwell there. It
will never again be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation.
As God overthrew
Sodom and
Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man
abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.
As God overthrew
Sodom and
Gomorrah along with their neighbors,” declares the LORD, “no one
will dwell there; no man
will abide there.
They shall hold the bow and the
lance: they are cruel, and
will not
shew mercy: their voice shall
roar like the sea, and they shall
ride upon horses, every one put in
array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
They
grasp the bow and
spear; they are cruel and
merciless. Their voice roars like the sea, and they
ride upon horses, lined up like men in formation against you, O Daughter of Babylon.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the
habitation of the strong: but I
will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who
will appoint me the time? and who is that
shepherd that
will stand before me?
Behold, one
will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I
will chase Babylon from her land. Who is the chosen one I
will appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their
habitation desolate with them.
Therefore hear the plans that the LORD has drawn up against Babylon and the strategies He has devised against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the little ones of the flock
will be
dragged away; certainly their pasture
will be made
desolate because of them.
At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.
At the sound of Babylon’s capture the earth
will quake; a cry
will be heard among the nations.
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;
This is what the LORD says: “Behold, I
will stir up against Babylon and against the people of Leb-kamai the spirit of a destroyer.
And
will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall
fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.
I
will send strangers to Babylon to
winnow her and empty her land; for they
will come against her from every side in her day of
disaster.
Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets.
And they will fall slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and pierced through in her streets.
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S
vengeance; he
will render unto her a recompence.
Flee from Babylon! Escape with your lives! Do not be destroyed in her punishment. For this is the time of the LORD’s
vengeance; He
will pay her what she deserves.
The LORD of hosts hath
sworn by himself, saying, Surely I
will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a
shout against thee.
The LORD of Hosts has
sworn by Himself: “Surely I
will fill you up with men as with locusts, and they
will shout in triumph over you.”
They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their
visitation they shall perish.
They are worthless, a work to be
mocked. In the time of their punishment they
will perish.
Thou art my battle
axe and weapons of war: for with thee
will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee
will I destroy kingdoms;
“You are My war club, My weapon for battle. With you I
shatter nations; with you I bring kingdoms to ruin.
And with thee
will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee
will I break in pieces the
chariot and his rider;
With thee also
will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee
will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee
will I break in pieces the young man and the
maid;
I
will also break in pieces with thee the
shepherd and his flock; and with thee
will I break in pieces the
husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee
will I break in pieces captains and rulers.
And I
will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of
Chaldea all their evil that they have done in
Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.
Before your very eyes I
will repay Babylon and all the dwellers of
Chaldea for all the evil they have done in
Zion,” declares the LORD.
Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
“Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, you who
devastate the whole earth, declares the LORD. I
will stretch out My hand against you; I
will roll you over the cliffs and turn you into a
charred mountain.
And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be
desolate for ever, saith the LORD.
No one shall
retrieve from you a cornerstone or a foundation stone, because you
will become
desolate forever,” declares the LORD.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to
thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “The Daughter of Babylon is like a
threshing floor at the time it is
trampled. In just a little while her harvest time
will come.”
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I
will plead thy cause, and take
vengeance for thee; and I
will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: “Behold, I
will plead your case and take
vengeance on your behalf; I
will dry up her sea and make her springs run dry.
They shall
roar together like lions: they shall
yell as lions’ whelps.
They
will roar together like young lions; they
will growl like lion cubs.
In their heat I
will make their feasts, and I
will make them
drunken, that they may
rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not
wake, saith the LORD.
While they are
flushed with heat, I
will serve them a feast, and I
will make them
drunk so that they may
revel; then they
will fall
asleep forever and never
wake up, declares the LORD.
I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.
I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with male goats.
And I
will punish Bel in Babylon, and I
will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath
swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him:
yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
I
will punish Bel in Babylon. I
will make him
spew out what he
swallowed. The nations
will no longer stream to him; even the wall of Babylon
will fall.
And lest your heart
faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
Do not let your heart grow
faint, and do not be afraid when the
rumor is heard in the land; for a
rumor will come one year— and then another the next year— of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler.
Therefore, behold, the days come, that I
will do judgment upon the
graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I
will punish the idols of Babylon. Her entire land
will suffer shame, and all her slain
will lie fallen within her.
Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the LORD.
Then heaven and earth and all that is in them
will shout for joy over Babylon because the destroyers from the north
will come against her,” declares the LORD.
Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I
will do judgment upon her
graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall
groan.
“Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I
will punish her idols, and throughout her land the wounded
will groan.
Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should
fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.
Even if Babylon ascends to the heavens and fortifies her lofty
stronghold, the destroyers I send
will come against her,” declares the LORD.
Because the LORD hath
spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do
roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:
For the LORD
will destroy Babylon; He
will silence her mighty voice. The waves
will roar like great waters; the
tumult of their voices
will resound.
Because the
spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite.
For a destroyer is coming against her— against Babylon. Her warriors
will be captured, and their bows
will be broken, for the LORD is a God of
retribution; He
will repay in full.
And I
will make
drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not
wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
I
will make her princes and wise men
drunk, along with her governors, officials, and warriors. Then they
will fall
asleep forever and not
wake up,” declares the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the
folk in the fire, and they shall be
weary.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Babylon’s thick walls
will be leveled, and her high gates consumed by fire. So the labor of the people
will be for nothing; the nations
will exhaust themselves to fuel the flames.”
Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be
desolate for ever.
and say, ‘O LORD, You have promised to cut off this place so that no one
will remain—neither man nor beast. Indeed, it
will be
desolate forever.’
And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I
will bring upon her: and they shall be
weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
Then you are to say, ‘In the same way Babylon
will sink and never rise again, because of the
disaster I
will bring upon her. And her people
will grow
weary.’” Here end the words of Jeremiah.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
For the Lord
will not cast us off
forever.
But though he cause grief, yet
will he have
compassion according to the multitude of his
mercies.
Even if He causes grief, He
will show
compassion according to His abundant loving devotion.
Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
You will pay them back what they deserve, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
You
will pursue them in anger and
exterminate them from under Your heavens, O LORD.
The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
The presence of the LORD has scattered them; He regards them no more. The priests are shown no honor; the elders find no favor.
The breath of our nostrils, the
anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
The LORD’s
anointed, the breath of our life, was captured in their pits. We had said of him, “Under his shadow we
will live among the nations.”
Rejoice and be
glad, O daughter of
Edom, that dwellest in the land of
Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be
drunken, and shalt make
thyself naked.
The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of
Zion; he
will no more carry thee away into captivity: he
will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of
Edom; he
will discover thy sins.
O Daughter of
Zion, your punishment is complete; He
will not
prolong your exile. But He
will punish your iniquity, O Daughter of
Edom; He
will expose your sins.
And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.”
And they, whether they
will hear, or whether they
will forbear, (for they are a
rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
And whether they
listen or refuse to
listen—for they are a
rebellious house—they
will know that a prophet has been among them.
And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they
will hear, or whether they
will forbear: for they are most
rebellious.
But the house of Israel
will be unwilling to
listen to you, since they are unwilling to
listen to Me. For the whole house of Israel is hard-headed and hard-hearted.
Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy
forehead strong against their foreheads.
Behold, I
will make your face as hard as their faces, and your
forehead as hard as their foreheads.
As an
adamant harder than flint have I made thy
forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a
rebellious house.
I
will make your
forehead like a
diamond, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or dismayed at their presence, even though they are a
rebellious house.”
And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they
will hear, or whether they
will forbear.
Go to your people, the exiles; speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says,’ whether they
listen or refuse to
listen.”
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not
warning, nor speakest to
warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood
will I require at thine hand.
If I say to the wicked man, ‘You
will surely die,’ but you do not
warn him or speak out to
warn him from his wicked way to save his life, that wicked man
will die in his iniquity, and I
will hold you responsible for his blood.
Yet if thou
warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
But if you
warn a wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness and his wicked way, he
will die in his iniquity, but you
will have saved
yourself.
Again, When a righteous man
doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him
warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood
will I require at thine hand.
Now if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I put a
stumbling block before him, he
will die. If you did not
warn him, he
will die in his sin, and the righteous acts he did
will not be remembered. And I
will hold you responsible for his blood.
Nevertheless if thou
warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he
doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is
warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
But if you
warn the righteous man not to sin, and he does not sin, he
will indeed live because he
heeded your
warning, and you
will have saved
yourself.”
And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.
And there the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He said to me, “Get up, go out to the plain, and there I will speak with you.”
But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
And you, son of man, they
will tie with ropes, and you
will be bound so that you cannot go out among the people.
And I
will make thy tongue
cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be
dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a
rebellious house.
I
will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth, and you
will be silent and unable to
rebuke them, though they are a
rebellious house.
But when I speak with thee, I
will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him
forbear: for they are a
rebellious house.
But when I speak with you, I
will open your mouth, and you are to tell them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says.’
Whoever listens, let him
listen; and
whoever refuses, let him refuse, for they are a
rebellious house.
Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
Then take an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between
yourself and the city. Turn your face toward it so that it is under siege, and
besiege it. This
will be a sign to the house of Israel.
And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.
Now behold, I
will tie you up with ropes so you cannot turn from side to side until you have finished the days of your siege.
And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their
defiled bread among the Gentiles,
whither I
will drive them.
Then the LORD said, “This is how the Israelites
will eat their
defiled bread among the nations to which I
will banish them.”
Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread
therewith.
“Look,” He replied, “I
will let you use cow dung instead of human
excrement, and you may
bake your bread over that.”
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I
will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with
astonishment:
Then He told me, “Son of man, I am going to cut off the supply of food in Jerusalem. They
will anxiously eat bread rationed by weight, and in
despair they
will drink water by measure.
That they may want bread and water, and be
astonied one with another, and
consume away for their iniquity.
So they
will lack food and water; they
will be
appalled at the sight of one another wasting away in their iniquity.
Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and
smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt
scatter in the wind; and I
will draw out a sword after them.
When the days of the siege have ended, you are to burn up a third of the hair inside the city; you are also to take a third and
slash it with the sword all around the city; and you are to
scatter a third to the wind. For I
will unleash a sword behind them.
Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
Again, take a few of these, throw them into the fire, and burn them. From there a fire will spread to the whole house of Israel.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and
will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I Myself am against you, Jerusalem, and I
will execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations.
And I
will do in thee that which I have not done, and
whereunto I
will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.
Because of all your abominations, I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again.
Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I
will execute judgments in thee, and the whole
remnant of thee
will I
scatter into all the winds.
As a result, fathers among you
will eat their sons, and sons
will eat their fathers. I
will execute judgments against you and
scatter all your
remnant to every wind.’
Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast
defiled my sanctuary with all thy
detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore
will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye
spare, neither
will I have any
pity.
Therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, because you have
defiled My sanctuary with all your
detestable idols and abominations, I Myself
will withdraw My favor; I
will not look upon you with
pity, nor
will I
spare you.
A third part of thee shall die with the
pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee and I
will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I
will draw out a sword after them.
A third of your people
will die by plague or be consumed by famine within you, a third
will fall by the sword outside your walls, and a third I
will scatter to every wind and
unleash a sword behind them.
Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I
will cause my
fury to rest upon them, and I
will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my
fury in them.
And when My anger is spent and I have
vented My wrath against them, I
will be
appeased. And when I have spent My wrath on them, they
will know that I, the LORD, in My zeal have spoken.
Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
I will make you a ruin and a disgrace among the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by.
So it shall be a reproach and a
taunt, an instruction and an
astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall
execute judgments in thee in anger and in
fury and in
furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
So you
will be a reproach and a
taunt, a
warning and a
horror to the nations around you, when I
execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and
raging fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.
When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
When I shower you with the deadly arrows of famine and destruction that I
will send to destroy you, I
will intensify the famine against you and cut off your supply of food.
So
will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall
bereave thee; and
pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I
will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.
I
will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they
will leave you childless. Plague and
bloodshed will sweep through you, and I
will bring a sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.”
And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
You are to say: ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.
And your altars shall be
desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I
will cast down your slain men before your idols.
Your altars
will be
demolished and your incense altars
will be
smashed; and I
will cast down your slain before your idols.
And I
will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I
will scatter your bones round about your altars.
I
will lay the corpses of the Israelites before their idols and
scatter your bones around your altars.
In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be
desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made
desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
Wherever you live, the cities
will be laid waste and the high places
will be
demolished, so that your altars
will be laid waste and
desecrated, your idols
smashed and
obliterated, your incense altars cut down, and your works
blotted out.
And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.
Yet
will I leave a
remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
Yet I
will leave a
remnant, for some of you
will escape the sword when you are scattered among the nations and throughout the lands.
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations
whither they shall be carried
captives, because I am broken with their
whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a
whoring after their idols: and they shall
lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
Then in the nations to which they have been carried
captive, your survivors
will remember Me—how I have been
grieved by their
adulterous hearts that turned away from Me, and by their eyes that
lusted after idols. So they
will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their abominations.
And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
And they
will know that I am the LORD; I did not declare in vain that I would bring this
calamity upon them.
Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say,
Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence.
This is what the Lord GOD says:
Clap your hands,
stomp your feet, and cry out “
Alas!” because of all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel, who
will fall by sword and famine and plague.
He that is far off shall die of the
pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus
will I
accomplish my
fury upon them.
He who is far off
will die by the plague, he who is near
will fall by the sword, and he who remains
will die by famine. So I
will vent My
fury upon them.
Then shall ye know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
Then you
will know that I am the LORD, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, and under every green tree and
leafy oak—the places where they offered
fragrant incense to all their idols.
So
will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land
desolate,
yea, more
desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
I
will stretch out My hand against them, and wherever they live I
will make the land a
desolate waste, from the wilderness to Diblah. Then they
will know that I am the LORD.’”
Now is the end come upon thee, and I
will send mine anger upon thee, and
will judge thee according to thy ways, and
will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
The end is now upon you, and I
will unleash My anger against you. I
will judge you according to your ways and repay you for all your abominations.
And mine eye shall not
spare thee, neither
will I have
pity: but I
will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I
will not look on you with
pity, nor
will I
spare you, but I
will punish you for your ways and for the abominations among you. Then you
will know that I am the LORD.’
Now
will I shortly pour out my
fury upon thee, and
accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I
will judge thee according to thy ways, and
will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Very soon I
will pour out My wrath upon you and
vent My anger against you; I
will judge you according to your ways and repay you for all your abominations.
And mine eye shall not
spare, neither
will I have
pity: I
will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.
I
will not look on you with
pity, nor
will I
spare you, but I
will punish you for your ways and for the abominations among you. Then you
will know that it is I, the LORD, who strikes the blow.
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be
wailing for them.
Their violence has grown into a rod to
punish their wickedness. None of them
will remain: none of their multitude, none of their wealth, and nothing of value.
