I called for my lovers, but they
deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to
relieve their souls.
I called out to my lovers, but they have
betrayed me. My priests and elders perished in the city while they searched for food to keep themselves alive.
They that be slain with the sword are
better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away,
stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
Those slain by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger, who waste away, pierced with pain because the fields lack produce.
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth
lightning.
In the midst of the living creatures was the appearance of
glowing coals of fire, or of torches. Fire moved back and forth
between the living creatures; it was bright, and
lightning flashed out of it.
Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
Then take an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall
between yourself and the city. Turn your face toward it so that it is under siege, and
besiege it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.
And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a
lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up
between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. Then the Spirit lifted me up
between earth and heaven and carried me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the
idol that provokes jealousy was seated.
And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD,
between the
porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
So He brought me to the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple of the LORD,
between the
portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east; and they were bowing to the east in worship of the sun.
And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in
between the wheels, even under the
cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from
between the cherubims, and
scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.
And the LORD said to the man clothed in linen, “Go inside the
wheelwork beneath the
cherubim. Fill your hands with burning coals from among the
cherubim and
scatter them over the city.” And as I watched, he went in.
And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.
When the LORD commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, “Take fire from within the
wheelwork, from among the
cherubim,” the man went in and stood beside a wheel.
And one
cherub stretched forth his hand from
between the cherubims unto the fire that was
between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.
Then one of the
cherubim reached out his hand and took some of the fire that was among them. And he put it into the hands of the man clothed in linen, who received it and went out.
He that hath not given forth upon
usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment
between man and man,
He does not
engage in
usury or take excess interest, but he withholds his hand from iniquity and executes true justice
between men.
Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign
between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that
sanctify them.
I also gave them My Sabbaths as a sign between us, so that they would know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
And
hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign
between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
Keep My Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us, so that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’
Her priests have
violated my law, and have
profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference
between the holy and
profane, neither have they shewed difference
between the unclean and the clean, and have
hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am
profaned among them.
Her priests do violence to My law and
profane My holy things. They make no distinction
between the holy and the common, and they fail to distinguish
between the clean and the unclean. They disregard My Sabbaths, so that I am
profaned among them.
Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country,
Beth-jeshimoth,
Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
therefore I will indeed
expose the
flank of Moab beginning with its frontier cities—
Beth-jeshimoth,
Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim—the glory of the land.
They of the house of
Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and
horsemen and mules.
The men of
Beth-
togarmah exchanged horses, war horses, and mules for your wares.
And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.
This is what the Lord GOD says to you, My flock: ‘I will judge between one sheep and another, between the rams and the goats.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge
between the fat cattle and
between the
lean cattle.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says to them: ‘Behold, I Myself will judge
between the fat sheep and the
lean sheep.
Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
I will save My flock, and they will no longer be prey. I will judge between one sheep and another.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will fill you with people and animals, and they will multiply and be fruitful. I will make you as inhabited as you once were, and I will make you
prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Gomer, and all his bands; the house of
Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
as well as
Gomer with all its troops, and
Beth-
togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and
between the little chambers were five cubits; and the
threshold of the gate by the
porch of the gate within was one reed.
Each gate chamber was one rod long and one rod wide, and there were five cubits
between the gate chambers. The inner
threshold of the gate by the
portico facing inward was one rod deep.
The thickness of the wall, which was for the side chamber without, was five cubits: and that which was left was the place of the side chambers that were within.
The outer wall of the side rooms was five cubits thick, and the open area between the side rooms of the temple
And between the chambers was the wideness of twenty cubits round about the house on every side.
and the outer chambers was twenty cubits wide all around the temple.
And it was made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree was
between a
cherub and a
cherub; and every
cherub had two faces;
were alternating carved
cherubim and palm trees. Each
cherub had two faces:
He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation
between the sanctuary and the
profane place.
So he measured the area on all four sides. It had a wall all around, five hundred cubits long and five hundred cubits wide, to separate the holy from the common.
In their setting of their
threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall
between me and them, they have even
defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.
When they placed their
threshold next to My
threshold and their doorposts beside My doorposts, with only a wall
between Me and them, they
defiled My holy name by the abominations they committed. Therefore I have consumed them in My anger.
And they shall teach my people the difference
between the holy and
profane, and cause them to
discern between the unclean and the clean.
They are to teach My people the difference
between the holy and the common, and show them how to
discern between the clean and the unclean.
Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is
between the border of Damascus and the border of
Hamath; Hazar-hatticon, which is by the coast of
Hauran.
On the north side it will extend from the Great Sea by way of Hethlon through Lebo-
hamath to Zedad, Berothah, and Sibraim (which is on the border
between Damascus and
Hamath), as far as Hazer-hatticon, which is on the border of
Hauran.
And the east side ye shall measure from
Hauran, and from Damascus, and from
Gilead, and from the land of Israel by Jordan, from the border unto the east sea. And this is the east side.
On the east side the border will run
between Hauran and Damascus, along the Jordan
between Gilead and the land of Israel, to the Eastern Sea and as far as Tamar. This will be the eastern boundary.
Moreover from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, being in the midst of that which is the prince’s, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince.
So the
Levitical property and the city property will lie in the center of the area belonging to the prince—the area
between the borders of Judah and Benjamin.
And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.
And at the end of ten days, they looked healthier and
better nourished than all the young men who were eating the king’s food.
And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it
between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise,
devour much flesh.
Suddenly another beast appeared, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth
between its teeth. So it was told, ‘Get up and
gorge yourself on flesh!’
And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
As I was
contemplating all this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn
between his eyes came out of the west, crossing the surface of the entire earth without touching the ground.
And I heard a man’s voice
between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said,
Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
And I heard the voice of a man calling from
between the banks of the Ulai: “
Gabriel, explain the vision to this man.”
And the rough goat is the king of
Grecia: and the great horn that is
between his eyes is the first king.
The
shaggy goat represents the king of Greece, and the large horn
between his eyes is the first king.
And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
He will pitch his royal tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain, but he will meet his end with no one to help him.
Plead with your mother,
plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her
adulteries from
between her breasts;
Rebuke your mother,
rebuke her, for she is not My wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove the
adultery from her face and the unfaithfulness from
between her breasts.
And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
She will pursue her lovers but not catch them; she will seek them but not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will return to my first husband, for then I was better off than now.’
And I will
betroth thee unto me for ever;
yea, I will
betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in
mercies.
I will even
betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
And I will
betroth you in faithfulness, and you will know the LORD.”
Though thou, Israel, play the
harlot, yet let not Judah
offend; and come not ye unto
Gilgal, neither go ye up to
Beth-
aven, nor
swear, The LORD liveth.
Though you
prostitute yourself, O Israel, may Judah avoid such guilt! Do not journey to
Gilgal, do not go up to
Beth-
aven, and do not
swear on oath, ‘As surely as the LORD lives!’
Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah, the
trumpet in
Ramah; raise the battle cry in
Beth-
aven: Lead on, O Benjamin!
Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
Israel was a
luxuriant vine, yielding fruit for himself. The more his fruit increased, the more he increased the altars. The
better his land produced, the
better he made the sacred pillars.
The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the
calves of
Beth-
aven: for the people thereof shall
mourn over it, and the priests thereof that
rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
The people of Samaria will fear for the
calf of
Beth-
aven. Indeed, its people will
mourn with its
idolatrous priests— those who
rejoiced in its glory— for it has been taken from them into exile.
Therefore shall a
tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be
spoiled, as Shalman
spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was
dashed in pieces upon her children.
the
roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be
demolished as Shalman
devastated Beth-arbel in the day of battle, when mothers were
dashed to pieces along with their children.
So shall
Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.
Thus it will be done to you, O
Bethel, because of your great wickedness. When the day dawns, the king of Israel will be utterly cut off.
Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he
wept, and made
supplication unto him: he found him in
Bethel, and there he spake with us;
Yes, he struggled with the angel and prevailed; he
wept and sought His favor; he found Him at
Bethel and spoke with Him there—
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD,
weep between the
porch and the altar, and let them say,
Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine
heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Let the priests who minister before the LORD
weep between the
portico and the altar, saying, “
Spare Your people, O LORD, and do not make Your
heritage a reproach, an object of
scorn among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
I will break down the gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of
Aven and the one who wields the
scepter in
Beth-
eden. The people of
Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of
Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
On the day I
punish Israel for their transgressions, I will visit destruction on the altars of
Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off, and they will fall to the ground.
Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and
devour it, and there be none to
quench it in
Bethel.
Seek the LORD and live, or He will
sweep like fire through the house of Joseph; it will
devour everything, with no one at
Bethel to
extinguish it.
Pass ye unto
Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to
Hamath the great: then go down to
Gath of the Philistines: be they
better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
Cross over to
Calneh and see; go from there to the great
Hamath; then go down to
Gath of the Philistines. Are you
better than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?
Then
Amaziah the priest of
Bethel sent to
Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,
Amos hath
conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
Then
Amaziah the priest of
Bethel sent word to
Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “
Amos has
conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
But
prophesy not again any more at
Bethel: for it is the king’s chapel, and it is the king’s court.
But never
prophesy at
Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
Therefore now, O LORD, take, I
beseech thee, my life from me; for it is
better for me to die than to live.
And now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.”
And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a
vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of
Jonah, that he
fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is
better for me to die than to live.
As the sun was rising, God appointed a
scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on
Jonah’s head so that he grew
faint and wished to die, saying, “It is
better for me to die than to live.”
And should not I
spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than
sixscore thousand persons that cannot
discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
So should I not care about the great city of
Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well?”
Declare ye it not at
Gath,
weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll
thyself in the dust.
Do not tell it in
Gath; do not
weep at all. Roll in the dust in
Beth-leaphrah.
Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the
mourning of
Beth-ezel; he shall receive of you his standing.
Depart in shameful nakedness, O dwellers of Shaphir. The dwellers of Zaanan will not come out.
Beth-ezel is in
mourning; its support is taken from you.
And he shall judge among many people, and
rebuke strong nations
afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Then He will judge
between many peoples and
arbitrate for strong nations far and wide. Then they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into
pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor will they train anymore for war.
But thou,
Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from
everlasting.
But you,
Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me One to be ruler over Israel— One whose origins are of old, from the days of
eternity.
Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured
harlot, the
mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Art thou
better than
populous No, that was
situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose
rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
Are you
better than
Thebes, stationed by the Nile with water around her, whose
rampart was the sea, whose wall was the water?
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as
hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
and wealth indeed
betrays him. He is an
arrogant man never at rest. He enlarges his
appetite like
Sheol, and like Death, he is never satisfied. He gathers all the nations to himself and collects all the peoples as his own.
Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a
stork: and they lifted up the
ephah between the earth and the heaven.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw two women approaching, with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a
stork, and they lifted up the
basket between heaven and earth.
And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four
chariots out from
between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
And again I lifted up my eyes and saw four
chariots coming out from
between two mountains—mountains of bronze.
Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Yes, He will build the temple of the LORD; He will be clothed in
splendor and will sit on His throne and rule. And He will be a priest on His throne, and there will be peaceful counsel
between the two.’
When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
Now the people of
Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech, along with their men, to
plead before the LORD
And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from
between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and
Ekron as a Jebusite.
I will remove the blood from their mouths and the abominations from
between their teeth. Then they too will become a
remnant for our God; they will become like a clan in Judah, and
Ekron will be like the Jebusites.
Then I cut
asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the
brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Then I cut in two my second staff called Union, breaking the
brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness
between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt
treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
Yet you ask, “Why?” It is because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have broken faith, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
Then shall ye return, and
discern between the righteous and the wicked,
between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
Now when Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
After Jesus was born in
Bethlehem in
Judea, during the time of King Herod,
Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
And they said unto him, In
Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
“In
Bethlehem in
Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
And thou
Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
‘But you,
Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the
shepherd of My people Israel.’”
And he sent them to
Bethlehem, and said, Go and search
diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
And sending them to
Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”
Then Herod, when he saw that he was
mocked of the wise men, was exceeding
wroth, and sent forth, and
slew all the children that were in
Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had
diligently enquired of the wise men.
When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the
Magi, he was filled with
rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in
Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the
Magi.
And if thy right eye
offend thee,
pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.
If your right eye causes you to sin,
gouge it out and throw it away. It is
better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into
hell.
And if thy right hand
offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is
better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into
hell.
Behold the fowls of the air: for they
sow not, neither do they
reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much
better than they?
Look at the birds of the air: They do not
sow or
reap or gather into barns—and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
Brother will
betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.
Woe unto thee, Chorazin!
woe unto thee,
Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and
Sidon, they would have
repented long ago in
sackcloth and ashes.
“
Woe to you, Chorazin!
Woe to you,
Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and
Sidon, they would have
repented long ago in
sackcloth and ashes.
How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
And while they abode in
Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be
betrayed into the hands of men:
When they gathered together in
Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.
But
whoso shall
offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were
better for him that a
millstone were
hanged about his neck, and that he were
drowned in the depth of the sea.
But if
anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to
stumble, it would be
better for him to have a large
millstone hung around his neck and to be
drowned in the depths of the sea.
Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot
offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is
better for thee to enter into life
halt or
maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into
everlasting fire.
If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is
better for you to enter life
crippled or
lame than to have two hands and two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire.
And if thine eye
offend thee,
pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is
better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into
hell fire.
And if your eye causes you to sin,
gouge it out and throw it away. It is
better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of
hell.
Moreover if thy brother shall
trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault
between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
If your brother sins against you, go and
confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.”
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be
betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the
scribes, and they shall
condemn him to death,
“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and
scribes. They will
condemn Him to death
And when they drew
nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to
Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
As they approached Jerusalem and came to
Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent out two disciples,
And he left them, and went out of the city into
Bethany; and he
lodged there.
Then He left them and went out of the city to
Bethany, where He spent the night.
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous
Abel unto the blood of
Zacharias son of
Barachias, whom ye
slew between the temple and the altar.
And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous
Abel to the blood of
