Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her at the gates.
Then I looked on all the works that my
hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and
vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
Yet when I considered all the works that my
hands had accomplished and what I had
toiled to
achieve, I found everything to be
futile, a pursuit of the wind; there was nothing to be gained under the sun.
There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
Nothing is better for a man than to eat and drink and enjoy his work. I have also seen that this is from the hand of God.
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the
sinner he giveth
travail, to gather and to
heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and
vexation of spirit.
To the man who is pleasing in His sight, He gives wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the
sinner He assigns the task of gathering and
accumulating that which he will
hand over to one who pleases God. This too is
futile and a pursuit of the wind.
So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were
oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
Again I looked, and I considered all the oppression taking place under the sun. I saw the tears of the
oppressed, and they had no comforter; the power lay in the
hands of their oppressors, and there was no comforter.
The
fool foldeth his
hands together, and eateth his own flesh.
The
fool folds his
hands and consumes his own flesh.
Better is an
handful with quietness, than both the
hands full with
travail and
vexation of spirit.
Better one
handful with tranquility than two
handfuls with
toil and pursuit of the wind.
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be
angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine
hands?
Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, and do not tell the
messenger that your
vow was a mistake. Why should God be
angry with your words and destroy the work of your
hands?
But those riches perish by evil
travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his
hand.
or wealth lost in a failed
venture, so when that man has a son there is nothing to pass on.
As he came forth of his mother’s
womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his
hand.
As a man came from his mother’s
womb, so he will depart again, naked as he arrived. He takes nothing for his labor to carry in his
hands.
It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this;
yea, also from this withdraw not thine
hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
It is good to
grasp the one and not let the other slip from your
hand. For he who fears God will follow both warnings.
And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her
hands as bands:
whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the
sinner shall be taken by her.
And I find more bitter than death the woman who is a
snare, whose heart is a net, and whose
hands are chains. The man who pleases God escapes her, but the
sinner is ensnared.
For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
So I took all this to heart and concluded that the righteous and the wise, as well as their deeds, are in God’s
hands. Man does not know what lies
ahead, whether love or
hate.
Whatsoever thy
hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor
device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave,
whither thou goest.
Whatever you find to do with your
hands, do it with all your might, for in
Sheol, where you are going, there is no work or
planning or knowledge or wisdom.
A wise man’s heart is at his right
hand; but a
fool’s heart at his left.
A wise man’s heart inclines to the right, but the heart of a
fool to the left.
By much
slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the
hands the house droppeth through.
Through
laziness the roof caves in, and in the
hands of the idle, the house leaks.
In the morning
sow thy seed, and in the evening
withhold not thine
hand: for thou knowest not whether shall
prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
Sow your seed in the morning, and do not rest your
hands in the evening, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or if both will equally
prosper.
Behold, thou art fair, my beloved,
yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
How handsome you are, my beloved! Oh, how delightful! The soft grass is our bed.
His left
hand is under my head, and his right
hand doth embrace me.
His left hand is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury,
whereon there
hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.
Your neck is like the tower of David, built with rows of stones; on it
hang a thousand shields, all of them shields of warriors.
My beloved put in his
hand by the hole of the door, and my
bowels were moved for him.
My beloved put his
hand to the
latch; my heart pounded for him.
I rose up to open to my beloved; and my
hands dropped with
myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling
myrrh, upon the
handles of the
lock.
I rose up to open for my beloved. My
hands dripped with
myrrh, my fingers with flowing
myrrh on the
handles of the
bolt.
His
hands are as gold rings set with the
beryl: his
belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
His arms are rods of gold set with
beryl. His body is an ivory
panel bedecked with sapphires.
How beautiful are thy feet with
shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the
hands of a
cunning workman.
How beautiful are your
sandaled feet, O daughter of the prince! The curves of your thighs are like jewels, the
handiwork of a master.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
His left hand is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your
hand, to
tread my courts?
When you come to appear before Me, who has required this of you— this
trampling of My courts?
And when ye spread forth your
hands, I will hide mine eyes from you:
yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your
hands are full of blood.
When you spread out your
hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you multiply your prayers, I will not
listen. Your
hands are covered with blood.
And I will turn my
hand upon thee, and purely
purge away thy
dross, and take away all thy tin:
I will turn My
hand against you; I will thoroughly
purge your
dross; I will remove all your impurities.
Therefore thou hast
forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be
replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
For You have abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with influences from the east; they are soothsayers like the Philistines; they strike hands with the children of foreigners.
Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
A man will seize his brother within his father’s house: “You have a
cloak—you be our leader! Take charge of this
heap of
rubble.”
Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his
hands shall be given him.
Woe to the wicked;
disaster is upon them! For they will be repaid with what their
hands have done.
And the
harp, and the
viol, the
tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his
hands.
At their feasts are the
lyre and
harp, tambourines and flutes and wine. They disregard the actions of the LORD and fail to see the work of His
hands.
Therefore is the anger of the LORD
kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his
hand against them, and hath
smitten them: and the hills did
tremble, and their carcases were
torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his
hand is stretched out still.
Therefore the anger of the LORD burns against His people; His
hand is raised against them to strike them down. The mountains
quake, and the corpses lay like refuse in the streets.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His
hand is still upraised.
Then
flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his
hand, which he had taken with the
tongs from off the altar:
For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong
hand, and
instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
For this is what the LORD has spoken to me with a strong
hand,
instructing me not to walk in the way of this people:
The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall
devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his
hand is stretched out still.
Aram from the east and Philistia from the west have
devoured Israel with open mouths.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His
hand is still upraised.
Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an
hypocrite and an
evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his
hand is stretched out still.
Therefore the Lord takes no pleasure in their young men; He has no
compassion on their fatherless and widows. For every one of them is godless and wicked, and every mouth speaks folly.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His
hand is still upraised.
And he shall
snatch on the right
hand, and be
hungry; and he shall eat on the left
hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
They
carve out what is on the right, but they are still
hungry; they eat what is on the left, but they are still not satisfied. Each one devours the flesh of his own offspring.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim,
Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his
hand is stretched out still.
Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim
Manasseh; together they turn against Judah.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His
hand is still upraised.
Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Nothing will remain but to
crouch among the
captives or fall among the slain.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His
hand is still upraised.
O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their
hand is mine
indignation.
Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger; the staff in their
hands is My wrath.
As my
hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose
graven images did
excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
As my
hand seized the
idolatrous kingdoms whose images surpassed those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
For he saith, By the strength of my
hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am
prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have
robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a
valiant man:
For he says: ‘By the strength of my
hand I have done this, and by my wisdom, for I am
clever. I have removed the boundaries of nations and
plundered their treasures; like a mighty one I subdued their rulers.
And my
hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or
peeped.
My
hand reached as into a nest to seize the wealth of the nations. Like one gathering abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth. No wing
fluttered, no
beak opened or
chirped.’”
As yet shall he remain at
Nob that day: he shall
shake his
hand against the mount of the daughter of
Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
The infant will play by the
cobra’s den, and the
toddler will reach into the
viper’s nest.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his
hand again the second time to recover the
remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from
Cush, and from
Elam, and from
Shinar, and from
Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
On that day the Lord will extend His
hand a second time to recover the
remnant of His people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from
Cush, from
Elam, from
Shinar, from
Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall
spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their
hand upon
Edom and Moab; and the children of
Ammon shall obey them.
They will
swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines to the west; together they will
plunder the sons of the east. They will lay their
hands on
Edom and Moab, and the
Ammonites will be subject to them.
And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he
shake his
hand over the river, and shall
smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over
dryshod.
The LORD will
devote to destruction the gulf of the Sea of Egypt; with a
scorching wind He will
sweep His
hand over the Euphrates. He will split it into seven streams for men to cross with dry
sandals.
Lift ye up a
banner upon the high mountain,
exalt the voice unto them,
shake the
hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
Raise a
banner on a barren
hilltop; call
aloud to them. Wave your
hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.
Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at
hand; it shall come as a destruction from the
Almighty.
Wail, for the Day of the LORD is near; it will come as destruction from the
Almighty.
Therefore shall all
hands be
faint, and every man’s heart shall
melt:
Therefore all
hands will fall
limp, and every man’s heart will
melt.
And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their
desolate houses, and
dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
Hyenas will
howl in her fortresses and jackals in her
luxurious palaces. Babylon’s time is at
hand, and her days will not be prolonged.
And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and
handmaids: and they shall take them
captives, whose
captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
The nations will
escort Israel and bring it to its homeland. Then the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the LORD’s land. They will make
captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors.
This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
This is the plan devised for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations.
For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall
disannul it? and his
hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
The LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can
thwart Him? His
hand is outstretched, so who can turn it back?
And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
They will not look to the altars they have fashioned with their hands or to the Asherahs and incense altars they have made with their fingers.
And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
I will deliver the Egyptians into the hands of harsh masters, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord GOD of Hosts.
In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the
shaking of the
hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will
tremble with fear beneath the
uplifted hand of the LORD of Hosts, when He brandishes it against them.
Whom the LORD of hosts shall
bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my
hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
The LORD of Hosts will
bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt My people, Assyria My
handiwork, and Israel My inheritance.”
And I will
clothe him with thy
robe, and
strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thy government into his
hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
I will
clothe him with your
robe and
tie your
sash around him. I will put your authority in his
hand, and he will be a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
And they shall
hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
So they will
hang on him all the glory of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the lesser vessels, from
bowls to every kind of
jar.
He stretched out his
hand over the sea, he
shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
The LORD has stretched out His
hand over the sea; He has made kingdoms
tremble. He has given a command that the strongholds of
Canaan be destroyed.
For in this mountain shall the
hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be
trodden down under him, even as straw is
trodden down for the
dunghill.
For the
hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain. But Moab will be
trampled in his place as straw is
trodden into the dung pile.
And he shall spread forth his
hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his
hands to
swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their
hands.
He will spread out his
hands within it, as a
swimmer spreads his arms to
swim. His pride will be brought low,
despite the skill of his
hands.
LORD, when thy
hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be
ashamed for their
envy at the people;
yea, the fire of thine enemies shall
devour them.
O LORD, Your
hand is upraised, but they do not see it. They will see Your zeal for Your people and be put to shame. The fire set for Your enemies will
consume them!
Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a
tempest of
hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the
hand.
Behold, the Lord has one who is strong and mighty. Like a
hailstorm or destructive
tempest, like a driving rain or flooding
downpour, he will
smash that crown to the ground.
And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a
fading flower, and as the
hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it
seeth, while it is yet in his
hand he eateth it up.
The
fading flower of his beautiful
splendor, set on the summit above the fertile valley, will be like a ripe fig before the summer harvest:
Whoever sees it will take it in his
hand and
swallow it.
And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
And the entire vision will be to you like the words sealed in a
scroll. If it is
handed to someone to read, he will say, “I cannot, because it is sealed.”
And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Or if the
scroll is
handed to one unable to read, he will say, “I cannot read.”
But when he
seeth his children, the work of mine
hands, in the midst of him, they shall
sanctify my name, and
sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
For when he sees his children around him, the work of My
hands, they will honor My name, they will
sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and they will stand in
awe of the God of Israel.
For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
For though their princes are at Zoan and their envoys have arrived in Hanes,
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
And whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.”
Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his
hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is
holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
But the Egyptians are men, not God; their horses are flesh, not spirit. When the LORD stretches out His
hand, the helper will
stumble, and the one he helps will fall; both will perish together.
For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
For on that day, every one of you will
reject the idols of silver and gold that your own
hands have
sinfully made.
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
He who walks righteously and speaks with
sincerity, who refuses gain from
extortion, whose
hand never takes a
bribe, who stops his ears against
murderous plots and shuts his eyes
tightly against evil—
And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
He has
allotted their portion; His
hand has distributed it by measure. They will possess it
forever; they will dwell in it from generation to generation.
Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt;
whereon if a man
lean, it will go into his
hand, and
pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.
Look now, you are trusting in Egypt, that
splintered reed of a staff that will
pierce the
hand of
anyone who leans on it. Such is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.
Neither let
Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the
hand of the king of Assyria.
Do not let
Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, ‘The LORD will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the
hand of the king of Assyria.’
Beware lest
Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the
hand of the king of Assyria?
Do not let
Hezekiah mislead you when he says, ‘The LORD will deliver us.’ Has the god of any nation ever delivered his land from the
hand of the king of Assyria?
Where are the gods of
Hamath and Arphad? where are the gods of
Sepharvaim? and have they delivered Samaria out of my
hand?
Where are the gods of
Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of
Sepharvaim? Have they delivered Samaria from my
hand?
Who are they among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
Who among all the gods of these lands has delivered his land from my hand? How then can the LORD deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”
Thus shall ye speak to
Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest,
deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the
hand of the king of Assyria.
“Give this message to
Hezekiah king of Judah: ‘Do not let your God, in whom you trust,
deceive you by saying that Jerusalem will not be delivered into the
hand of the king of Assyria.
And
Hezekiah received the letter from the
hand of the messengers, and read it: and
Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
So
Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers, read it, and went up to the house of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
They have cast their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods, but only wood and stone—the work of human hands.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.
And now, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God.”
And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.
Speak ye
comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is
pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S
hand double for all her sins.
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and
proclaim to her that her forced labor has been completed; her iniquity has been
pardoned. For she has received from the
hand of the LORD double for all her sins.”
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
Behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and His arm establishes His rule. His reward is with Him, and His
recompense accompanies Him.
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his
hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and
comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and
weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his
hand, or marked off the heavens with the span of his
hand? Who has held the dust of the earth in a
basket, or
weighed the mountains on a scale and the hills with a balance?
Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven
stubble to his bow.
Who has
aroused one from the east and called him to his feet in righteousness? He
hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown
chaff with his bow.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will
strengthen thee;
yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will
uphold thee with the right
hand of my righteousness.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will
uphold you with My right
hand of righteousness.
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and tells you: Do not fear, I will help you.
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
so that all may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
“I, the LORD, have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will take hold of your
hand. I will keep you and
appoint you to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations,
Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my
hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
Even from
eternity I am He, and none can deliver out of My
hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”
One shall say, I am the LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall
subscribe with his
hand unto the LORD, and
surname himself by the name of Israel.
One will say, ‘I belong to the LORD,’ another will call himself by the name of Jacob, and still another will write on his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’ and will take the name of Israel.”
He feedeth on ashes: a
deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right
hand?
He feeds on ashes. His
deluded heart has led him
astray, and he cannot deliver himself or say, “Is not this thing in my right
hand a lie?”
