And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be
imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an
abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.

whatsoever any of them, when they are dead,
doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or

atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
So he shall make
atonement for the Most Holy Place because of the
impurities and
rebellious acts of the Israelites in regard to all their sins. He is to do the same for the Tent of Meeting which abides among them, because it is surrounded by their
impurities.
And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
instead of bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD before His tabernacle—that man shall
incur bloodguilt. He has shed blood and must be cut off from among his people.
And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.

If thy brother be
waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his
kin come to
redeem it, then shall he

kin may come and
redeem what his brother has sold.

carnally, and it be
hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be

Did I then begin to
enquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king
impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
Was that day the first time I inquired of God for him? Far be it from me! Let not the king
accuse your servant or any of my father’s household, for your servant knew nothing of this whole
affair—not in part or in whole.”

wrongdoing on the day my lord the king left Jerusalem. May the king not take it to heart.

levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and
Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and
Megiddo, and

imposed to build the house of the LORD, his own palace, the supporting terraces, and the wall of Jerusalem, as well as Hazor,
Megiddo, and
Gezer.

And ye shall
smite every
fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and

whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be
hanged thereon; and let his house be made a
dunghill for this.
I also decree that if any man interferes with this directive, a beam is to be
torn from his house and raised up, and he is to be
impaled on it. And his own house shall be made a pile of
rubble for this
offense.

impose tribute, duty, or
toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, doorkeepers, temple servants, or other servants of this house of God.
And
whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to
banishment, or to
confiscation of goods, or to
imprisonment.
If
anyone does not keep the law of your God and the law of the king, let a strict judgment be executed against him, whether death,
banishment,
confiscation of property, or
imprisonment.
Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the
filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.
that You gave through Your servants the prophets, saying: ‘The land that you are entering to possess is a land
polluted by the
impurity of its peoples and the abominations with which they have filled it from end to end.

supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.

urging her to approach the king,
implore his favor, and
plead before him for her people.
And the king
Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
Now King
Xerxes imposed tribute throughout the land, even to its

If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?
If He comes along to imprison you, or convenes a court, who can stop Him?
Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
What He tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man He imprisons cannot be released.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
I call for my servant, but he does not answer, though I
implore him with my own mouth.
As for me, is my
complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
Is my
complaint against a man? Then why should I not be
impatient?
If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any
blot hath
cleaved to mine hands;
If my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has followed my eyes, or if
impurity has
stuck to my hands,
Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
For God has deprived her of wisdom; He has not endowed her with understanding.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
Bury them together in the dust;
imprison them in the grave.
Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD
imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
guile.
Blessed is the man whose iniquity the LORD does not count against him, in whose spirit there is no
deceit.
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the
meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
My mouth will
impart wisdom, and the
meditation of my heart will bring understanding.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be
straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not
stumble.
When you walk, your steps will not be
impeded; when you run, you will not
stumble.
So she caught him, and
kissed him, and with an
impudent face said unto him,
She seizes him and kisses him; she
brazenly says to him:
He goeth after her
straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a
fool to the correction of the stocks;
He follows her on
impulse, like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer bounding into a
trap,
He that is
despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
Better to be lightly esteemed yet have a servant, than to be self-important but lack food.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
A rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.
There be three things which go well,
yea, four are comely in going:
There are three things that are stately in their
stride, and four that are
impressive in their walk:
And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely
purge away thy
dross, and take away all thy tin:
I will turn My hand against you; I will thoroughly
purge your
dross; I will remove all your
impurities.
With whom took he counsel, and who
instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
Whom did He
consult to
enlighten Him, and who taught Him the paths of justice? Who
imparted knowledge to Him and showed Him the way of understanding?
But this is a people
robbed and
spoiled; they are all of them
snared in holes, and they are
hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a
spoil, and none saith, Restore.
And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall
impoverish thy
fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
They will
devour your harvest and food; they will
consume your sons and daughters; they will eat up your flocks and herds; they will feed on your vines and fig trees. With the sword they will destroy the fortified cities in which you trust.”
For then the king of Babylon’s army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah’s house.
At that time the army of the king of Babylon was
besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was
imprisoned in the
courtyard of the guard, which was in the palace of the king of Judah.
For
Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore
dost thou
prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
For
Zedekiah king of Judah had
imprisoned him, saying: “Why are you
prophesying like this? You claim that the LORD says, ‘Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it.
For they are
impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.
They are
obstinate and
stubborn children. I am sending you to them, and you are to say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says.’
But the house of Israel will be unwilling to
listen to you, since they are unwilling to
listen to Me. For the whole house of Israel is hard-headed and hard-hearted.
How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an
imperious whorish woman;
How weak-willed is your heart, declares the Lord GOD, while you do all these things, the acts of a shameless
prostitute!
In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for
pollution.
In you they have uncovered the nakedness of their fathers; in you they
violate women during their
menstrual impurity.
Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the
filthiness of it may be
molten in it, that the
scum of it may be consumed.
Set the empty pot on its coals until it becomes hot and its copper glows. Then its
impurity will
melt within; its
rust will be consumed.
And they shall take up a
lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that
wast inhabited of
seafaring men, the
renowned city, which
wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that
haunt it!
Then they will
lament for you, saying, “How you have perished, O city of
renown inhabited by
seafaring men— she who was powerful on the sea, along with her people, who
imposed terror on all peoples!
Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they
defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
“Son of man, when the people of Israel lived in their land, they
defiled it by their own ways and deeds. Their
behavior before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman’s
impurity.
Then will I
sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your
filthiness, and from all your idols, will I
cleanse you.
I will also
sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will
cleanse you from all your
impurities and all your idols.
Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making
supplication before his God.
Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and
imploring his God.
And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more
stout than his fellows.
I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn whose appearance was more
imposing than the others, with eyes and with a mouth that spoke words of
arrogance.
That
chant to the sound of the
viol, and
invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD
straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
Should it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these the things He does?” Do not My words bring good to him who walks uprightly?
For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and
hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.
For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans— that
ruthless and
impetuous nation which marches through the breadth of the earth to seize dwellings not their own.
Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and
offend,
imputing this his power unto his god.
Then they
sweep by like the wind and pass on through. They are guilty; their own strength is their god.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the
remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “If this is
impossible in the eyes of the
remnant of this people in these days, should it also be
impossible in My eyes?” declares the LORD of Hosts.
Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will
smite her power in the sea; and she shall be
devoured with fire.
Behold, the Lord will
impoverish her and cast her wealth into the sea, and she will be consumed by fire.
And in one month I dismissed three
shepherds. My soul grew
impatient with the flock, and their souls also
detested me.
In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the people of Jerusalem, to
cleanse them from sin and
impurity.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
And on that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will
erase the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered. I will also remove the prophets and the spirit of
impurity from the land.
Whereas
Edom saith, We are
impoverished, but we will return and build the
desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath
indignation for ever.
Though
Edom may say, “We have been
devastated, but we will rebuild the ruins,” this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “They may build, but I will
demolish. They will be called the Land of Wickedness, and a people with whom the LORD is
indignant forever.
Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into
Galilee;
When Jesus heard that John had been
imprisoned, He withdrew to
Galilee.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for
verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of
mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to
yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be
impossible unto you.
“Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a
mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be
impossible for you.”
But Jesus
beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is
impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Woe unto you,
scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited
sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
Woe to you,
scribes and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like
whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of
impurity.
For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.
For Herod himself had ordered that John be arrested and bound and imprisoned, on account of his brother Philip’s wife Herodias, whom Herod had married.
And they bring unto him one that was
deaf, and had an
impediment in his speech; and they
beseech him to put his hand upon him.
Some people brought to Him a man who was
deaf and hardly able to speak, and they
begged Jesus to place His hand on him.
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
“Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and seek favor from no one. Indeed, You are
impartial and teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay them or not?”
And one of the
scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
Now one of the
scribes had come up and heard their
debate. Noticing how well Jesus had answered them, he asked Him, “Which commandment is the most
important of all?”
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Jesus replied, “This is the most important: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
and to love Him with all your heart and with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your
neighbor as
yourself, which is more
important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
And a man named Barabbas was imprisoned with the rebels who had committed murder during the insurrection.
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
For no word from God will ever fail.”
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
John replied, “
Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and
whoever has food should do the same.”
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his
importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
I tell you, even though he will not get up to provide for him because of his friendship, yet because of the man’s
persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
Then said he unto the disciples, It is
impossible but that offences will come: but
woe unto him, through whom they come!
Jesus said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that
stumbling blocks will come, but
woe to the one through whom they come!
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
But Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
(Who for a certain
sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)
(Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
And he released unto them him that for
sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and handed Jesus over to their will.
On these walkways lay a great number of the sick, the blind, the
lame, and the
paralyzed.
