Thy
shepherds slumber, O
king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
O
king of Assyria, your
shepherds slumber; your officers sleep. Your people are scattered on the mountains with no one to gather them.
And they shall
scoff at the
kings, and the princes shall be a
scorn unto them: they shall
deride every strong hold; for they shall
heap dust, and take it.
They
scoff at
kings and make rulers an object of
scorn. They
laugh at every fortress and build up siege ramps to seize it.
The word of the LORD which came unto
Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of
Josiah the son of Amon,
king of Judah.
This is the word of the LORD that came to
Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of
Hezekiah, in the days of
Josiah son of Amon
king of Judah:
And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, that I will
punish the princes, and the
king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange
apparel.
“On the Day of the LORD’s sacrifice I will
punish the princes, the sons of the
king, and all who are dressed in foreign
apparel.
And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the
cormorant and the
bittern shall
lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows;
desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the
cedar work.
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may
assemble the
kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Therefore wait for Me,” declares the LORD, “until the day I rise to
testify. For My decision is to gather nations, to
assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them My
indignation— all My burning anger. For all the earth will be consumed by the fire of My jealousy.
The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
The LORD has taken away your punishment; He has turned back your enemy. Israel’s
King, the LORD, is among you; no longer will you fear any
harm.
In the second year of
Darius the
king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by
Haggai the prophet unto
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
In the second year of the reign of
Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came through
Haggai the prophet to
Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, stating
In the four and
twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of
Darius the
king.
on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of
King Darius.
And I will overthrow the throne of
kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the
kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the
chariots, and those that
ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the
kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn
chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who was speaking with me.
And it came to pass in the fourth year of
king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto
Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in
Chisleu;
In the fourth year of
King Darius, the word of the LORD came to
Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth month, the month of Chislev.
Ashkelon shall see it, and fear;
Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and
Ekron; for her expectation shall be
ashamed; and the
king shall perish from
Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
Ashkelon will see and fear;
Gaza will
writhe in
agony, as will
Ekron, for her hope will wither. There will cease to be a
king in
Gaza, and Ashkelon will be uninhabited.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of
Zion;
shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy
King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an
ass, and upon a
colt the
foal of an
ass.
Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of
Zion!
Shout in triumph, O Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your
King comes to you, righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a
donkey, on a
colt, the
foal of a
donkey.
Mine anger was
kindled against the
shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
“My anger burns against the
shepherds, and I will
punish the leaders. For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock, the house of Judah; He will make them like His royal
steed in battle.
For I will no more
pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his
king: and they shall
smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
For I will no longer have
compassion on the people of the land, declares the LORD, but behold, I will cause each man to fall into the hands of his
neighbor and his
king, who will
devastate the land, and I will not deliver it from their hands.”
And ye shall
flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:
yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah
king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
You will
flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will
flee as you fled from the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah
king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
On that day the LORD will become King over all the earth—the LORD alone, and His name alone.
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the
king’s winepresses.
All the land from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be turned into a plain, but Jerusalem will be raised up and will remain in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the
King, the LORD of Hosts, and to
celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
And it shall be, that
whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the
King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
And should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, then the rain will not fall on them.
Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for
nought? neither do ye
kindle fire on mine altar for
nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
“Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would no longer
kindle useless fires on My altar! I take no pleasure in you,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and I will accept no offering from your hands.
But
cursed be the
deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great
King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is
dreadful among the heathen.
“But
cursed is the
deceiver who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but sacrifices a defective animal to the Lord. For I am a great
King,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and My name is to be feared among the nations.
And
Jesse begat David the
king; and David the
king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
and
Jesse the father of David the
king. Next: David was the father of Solomon by Uriah’s wife,
Now when Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the
king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
After Jesus was born in
Bethlehem in
Judea, during the time of
King Herod,
Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
After they had heard the
king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went
ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.
And saying,
Repent ye: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.
and saying, “
Repent, for the
kingdom of heaven is near.”
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
From that time Jesus began to
preach, and to say,
Repent: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.
From that time on Jesus began to
preach, “
Repent, for the
kingdom of heaven is near.”
And Jesus went about all
Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and
healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Jesus went throughout
Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and
healing every disease and sickness among the people.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they which are
persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who are
persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall
revile you, and
persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Blessed are you when people
insult you,
persecute you, and falsely say all
kinds of evil against you because of Me.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the
kingdom of heaven: but
whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the
kingdom of heaven.
So then,
whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the
kingdom of heaven; but
whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the
kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the
scribes and
Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the
kingdom of heaven.
For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the
scribes and
Pharisees, you will never enter the
kingdom of heaven.
Nor by the earth; for it is his
footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great
King.
or by the earth, for it is His
footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great
King.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the
kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Not
everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the
kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
I say to you that many will come from the east and the west to share the
banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the
kingdom of heaven.
But the children of the
kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be
weeping and
gnashing of teeth.
But the sons of the
kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be
weeping and
gnashing of teeth.”
But the men
marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
The men were
amazed and asked, “What
kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!”
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and
healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and
healing every disease and sickness.
And as ye go,
preach, saying, The
kingdom of heaven is at hand.
As you go,
preach this message: ‘The
kingdom of heaven is near.’
And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
On My account, you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft
raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in
kings’ houses.
Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear fine clothing are found in kings’ palaces.
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the
kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every
kingdom divided against itself is brought to
desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
And if
Satan cast out
Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his
kingdom stand?
If
Satan drives out
Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his
kingdom stand?
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
When
anyone hears the message of the
kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The
kingdom of heaven is
likened unto a man which
sowed good seed in his field:
Jesus put before them another parable: “The
kingdom of heaven is like a man who
sowed good seed in his field.
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The
kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of
mustard seed, which a man took, and
sowed in his field:
He put before them another parable: “The
kingdom of heaven is like a
mustard seed that a man planted in his field.
Another parable spake he unto them; The
kingdom of heaven is like unto
leaven, which a woman took, and
hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was
leavened.
He told them still another parable: “The
kingdom of heaven is like
leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was
leavened.”
The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
The field is the world, and the good seed represents the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his
kingdom all things that
offend, and them which do iniquity;
The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will
weed out of His
kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice
lawlessness.
Then shall the righteous
shine forth as the sun in the
kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Then the righteous will
shine like the sun in the
kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
Again, the
kingdom of heaven is like unto
treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
The
kingdom of heaven is like
treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he
hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea and caught all kinds of fish.
Then said he unto them, Therefore every
scribe which is
instructed unto the
kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his
treasure things new and old.
Then He told them, “For this reason, every
scribe who has been discipled in the
kingdom of heaven is like a homeowner who brings out of his
storeroom new treasures as well as old.”
And the
king was
sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.
The
king was
grieved, but because of his oaths and his guests, he ordered that her wish be granted
And I will give unto thee the keys of the
kingdom of heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his
kingdom.
Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
Howbeit this
kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
He saith,
Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the
kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
“
Yes,” he answered. When Peter entered the house, Jesus
preempted him. “What do you think, Simon?” He asked. “From whom do the
kings of the earth collect customs and taxes: from their own sons, or from others?”
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
And said,
Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the
kingdom of heaven.
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the
kingdom of heaven.
Therefore,
whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the
kingdom of heaven.
Therefore is the
kingdom of heaven
likened unto a certain
king, which would take account of his servants.
Because of this, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s
womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the
kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and
forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the
kingdom of heaven.
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the
kingdom of heaven.
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a
camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the
kingdom of God.
Again I tell you, it is easier for a
camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the
kingdom of God.”
For the
kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to
hire labourers into his
vineyard.
“For the
kingdom of heaven is like a
landowner who went out early in the morning to
hire workers for his
vineyard.
And he said unto her, What
wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy
kingdom.
“What do you want?” He inquired. She answered, “Declare that in Your kingdom one of these two sons of mine may sit at Your right hand, and the other at Your left.”
Tell ye the daughter of
Sion, Behold, thy
King cometh unto thee,
meek, and sitting upon an
ass, and a
colt the
foal of an
ass.
“Say to the Daughter of
Zion, ‘See, your
King comes to you, gentle and riding on a
donkey, on a
colt, the
foal of a
donkey.’”
Whether of them
twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the
kingdom of God before you.
Which of the two did the will of his father?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
“The
kingdom of heaven is like a
king who prepared a
wedding banquet for his son.
But when the
king heard thereof, he was
wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
The
king was
enraged, and he sent his troops to destroy those murderers and burn their city.
And when the
king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a
wedding garment:
But when the
king came in to see the guests, he
spotted a man who was not dressed in
wedding clothes.
Then said the
king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be
weeping and
gnashing of teeth.
Then the
king told the servants, ‘
Tie him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be
weeping and
gnashing of teeth.’
But
woe unto you,
scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the
kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in
yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Woe to you,
scribes and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the
kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You
yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.
Woe unto you,
scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited
sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
Woe to you,
scribes and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like
whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every
kind of impurity.
For nation shall rise against nation, and
kingdom against
kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in
divers places.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Then shall the
kingdom of heaven be
likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the
bridegroom.
“At that time the
kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the
bridegroom.
For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
For it is just like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted them with his possessions.
Then shall the
King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father,
inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Then the
King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father,
inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
And the
King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
Then shall he answer them, saying,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it
anew with you in My Father’s
kingdom.”
And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, who questioned Him: “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
And when they had
platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the
knee before him, and
mocked him, saying,
Hail,
King of the Jews!
And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand and
knelt down before Him to
mock Him, saying, “
Hail,
King of the Jews!”
