whereunto shall I
liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the
markets, and calling unto their fellows,

dining.

marketplaces,
They are like unto children sitting in the
marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have
mourned to you, and ye have not
wept.
They are like children sitting in the
marketplace and calling out to one another: ‘We played the
flute for you, and you did not dance; we
sang a
dirge, and you did not
weep.’

markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

nail marks in His hands, and put my finger where the
nails have been, and put my hand into His side, I will never believe.”
And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose

envy, took unto them certain
lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an
uproar, and
assaulted the house of
Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
The Jews, however, became
jealous. So they brought in some troublemakers from the
marketplace, formed a
mob, and sent the city into an
uproar. They
raided Jason’s house in search of Paul and
Silas, hoping to bring them out to the people.
Therefore disputed he in the
synagogue with the Jews, and with the
devout persons, and in the

Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and
Marcus, sister’s son to
Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)
My fellow prisoner
Aristarchus sends you greetings, as does
Mark the cousin of
Barnabas. You have already received instructions about him: If he comes to you,
welcome him.
The
salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the
token in every epistle: so I write.
This
greeting is in my own hand—Paul. This is my
mark in every letter; it is the way I write.
Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is useful to me in the ministry.
as do
Mark,
Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a
mark on their right hand or on their
forehead,
And that no man might
buy or sell, save he that had the
mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
so that no one could
buy or sell unless he had the
mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his
mark in his
forehead, or in his hand,
And a third angel followed them, calling out in a loud voice, “If
anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its
mark on his
forehead or on his hand,
And the smoke of their
torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and
whosoever receiveth the
mark of his name.
And the smoke of their
torment rises
forever and ever. Day and night there is no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for
anyone who receives the
mark of its name.”
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had
gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his
mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, beside which stood those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name. They were holding harps from God,
And the first went, and poured out his
vial upon the earth; and there fell a

bowl on the earth, and
loathsome,
malignant sores broke out on those who had the
mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he
deceived them that had received the
mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with
brimstone.

deceiving those who had the
mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Both the beast and the false prophet were thrown alive into the
fiery lake of burning sulfur.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his
mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Then I saw the thrones, and those seated on them had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been
beheaded for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image, and had not received its
mark on their foreheads or hands. And they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

rebellious and wicked city, do build the
marketplaces, and repair the walls of it and do lay the foundation of the temple.
And thou spakest saying, Hear me, O Israel; and mark my words, thou seed of Jacob.
But he came again, and said, Father, one of our nation is
strangled, and is cast out in the
marketplace.
Or like as when an
arrow is shot at a
mark, it parteth the air, which immediately cometh together again, so that a man cannot know where it went through:
Then shall the right aiming thunderbolts go abroad; and from the clouds, as from a well drawn bow, shall they fly to the mark.
But they counted our life a
pastime, and our time here a
market for gain: for, say they, we must be getting every way, though it be by evil means.
by son,
hearken unto me, and learn knowledge, and
mark my words with thy heart.
For as a servant that is continually beaten shall not be without a blue mark: so he that sweareth and nameth God continually shall not be faultless.
The stroke of the
whip maketh
marks in the flesh: but the stroke of the tongue breaketh the bones.
