And he that is eight days old shall be
circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with
money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
Generation after generation, every male must be
circumcised when he is eight days old, including those born in your household and those purchased from a foreigner—even those who are not your offspring.
He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy
money, must needs be
circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an
everlasting covenant.
Whether they are born in your household or purchased, they must be
circumcised. My covenant in your flesh will be an
everlasting covenant.
And Abraham took
Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his
money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and
circumcised the flesh of their
foreskin in the
selfsame day, as God had said unto him.
On that very day Abraham took his son
Ishmael and all those born in his household or purchased with his
money—every male among the members of Abraham’s household—and he
circumcised them, just as God had told him.
And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with
money of the stranger, were
circumcised with him.
And all the men of Abraham’s household—both servants born in his household and those purchased from foreigners—were
circumcised with him.
That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
to sell me the cave of Machpelah that belongs to him; it is at the end of his field. Let him sell it to me in your presence for full price, so that I may have a burial site.”
And he spake unto Ephron in the
audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou
wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee
money for the field; take it of me, and I will
bury my dead there.
and said to Ephron in their presence, “If you will please
listen to me, I will pay you the price of the field. Accept it from me, so that I may
bury my dead there.”
And Abraham
hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham
weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the
audience of the sons of
Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current
money with the merchant.
Abraham agreed to Ephron’s terms and
weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the
Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the standard of the merchants.
Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite
devoured also our
money.

squandered what was paid for us.
And he bought a
parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor,

Shechem’s father, for a hundred pieces of silver.

sack, and to give them provisions for their journey. This order was carried out,

sack to give his
ass provender in the inn, he

money; for, behold, it was in his
sack’s mouth.
At the place where they
lodged for the night, one of them opened his
sack to get feed for his
donkey, and he saw his silver in the mouth of the
sack.
And he said unto his brethren, My
money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
“My silver has been returned!” he said to his brothers. “It is here in my
sack.” Their hearts
sank, and
trembling, they turned to one another and said, “What is this that God has done to us?”
And it came to pass as they
emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man’s
bundle of
money was in his
sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of
money, they were afraid.
As they began emptying their sacks, there in each man’s
sack was his
bag of silver! And when they and their father saw the bags of silver, they were dismayed.
And take double
money in your hand; and the
money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand;
peradventure it was an oversight:
Take double the silver with you so that you may return the silver that was put back into the mouths of your sacks. Perhaps it was a mistake.
And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.
So the men took these gifts, along with double the amount of silver, and Benjamin as well. Then they
hurried down to Egypt and stood before Joseph.
And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the
money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for
bondmen, and our
asses.
But the brothers were
frightened that they had been taken to Joseph’s house. “We have been brought here because of the silver that was returned in our bags the first time,” they said. “They intend to overpower us and take us as slaves, along with our
donkeys.”
And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man’s
money was in the mouth of his
sack, our
money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.
But when we came to the place we
lodged for the night, we opened our sacks and, behold, each of us found his silver in the mouth of his
sack! It was the full amount of our silver, and we have brought it back with us.
And other
money have we brought down in our hands to
buy food: we cannot tell who put our
money in our sacks.
We have brought additional silver with us to
buy food. We do not know who put our silver in our sacks.”
And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you
treasure in your sacks: I had your
money. And he brought
Simeon out unto them.
“It is fine,” said the
steward. “Do not be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, gave you the
treasure that was in your sacks. I received your silver.” Then he brought
Simeon out to them.
And he commanded the
steward of his house, saying, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man’s
money in his
sack’s mouth.
Then Joseph
instructed his
steward: “Fill the men’s sacks with as much food as they can carry, and put each one’s silver in the mouth of his
sack.
And put my cup, the silver cup, in the
sack’s mouth of the youngest, and his corn
money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.
Put my cup, the silver one, in the mouth of the youngest one’s
sack, along with the silver for his grain.” So the
steward did as Joseph had
instructed.
Behold, the
money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of
Canaan: how then should we
steal out of thy lord’s house silver or gold?
We even brought back to you from the land of
Canaan the silver we found in the mouths of our sacks. Why would we
steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
And Joseph gathered up all the
money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of
Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the
money into Pharaoh’s house.
Joseph collected all the
money to be found in the land of Egypt and the land of
Canaan in exchange for the grain they were
buying, and he brought it into Pharaoh’s palace.
And when
money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of
Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the
money faileth.
When the
money from the lands of Egypt and
Canaan was gone, all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, “Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? For our funds have run out!”
And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.
“Then bring me your
livestock,” said Joseph. “Since the
money is gone, I will sell you food in exchange for your
livestock.”
When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
When that year was over, they came to him the second year and said, “We cannot hide from our lord that our
money is gone and all our
livestock belongs to you. There is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.
But every man’s servant that is bought for
money, when thou hast
circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
But any slave who has been purchased may eat of it, after you have
circumcised him.

If, however, he does not provide her with these three things, she is free to go without
monetary payment.
Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
However, if the servant gets up after a day or two, the owner shall not be punished, since the servant is his property.
If there be laid on him a sum of
money, then he shall give for the
ransom of his life
whatsoever is laid upon him.
If payment is demanded of him instead, he may
redeem his life by paying the full amount demanded of him.

the owner of the pit shall make
restitution; he must pay its owner, and the dead animal will be his.
And if one man’s ox
hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the
money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
If a man’s ox injures his
neighbor’s ox and it dies, they must sell the live one and divide the proceeds; they also must divide the dead animal.
If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour
money or stuff to keep, and it be
stolen out of the man’s house; if the

neighbor money or goods for safekeeping and they are
stolen from the
neighbor’s house, the
thief, if caught, must pay back double.
If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay
money according to the
dowry of virgins.
If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, the man still must pay an amount comparable to the
bridal price of a virgin.
If thou
lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an
usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him
usury.
If you
lend money to one of My people among you who is poor, you must not act as a
creditor to him; you are not to charge him interest.
And thou shalt take the
atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt
appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a
memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an
atonement for your souls.
Take the
atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will serve as a
memorial for the Israelites before the LORD to make
atonement for your lives.”
But if the priest
buy any soul with his
money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.
But if a priest buys a slave with his own money, or if a slave is born in his household, that slave may eat his food.
Thou shalt not give him thy
money upon
usury, nor
lend him thy
victuals for increase.
You must not
lend him your silver at interest or sell him your food for profit.
If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his
redemption out of the
money that he was bought for.
If many years remain, he must pay for his
redemption in proportion to his purchase price.
And if he that
sanctified it will
redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the
money of thy
estimation unto it, and it shall be his.
But if he who consecrated his house redeems it, he must add a fifth to the
assessed value, and it will belong to him.
But if he
sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall
reckon unto him the
money according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it shall be
abated from thy
estimation.
But if he consecrates his field after the
Jubilee, the priest is to
calculate the price in proportion to the years left until the next Year of
Jubilee, so that your
valuation will be reduced.
And if he that
sanctified the field will in any wise
redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the
money of thy
estimation unto it, and it shall be
assured to him.
And if the one who consecrated the field decides to
redeem it, he must add a fifth to the
assessed value, and it shall belong to him.
And thou shalt give the
money,
wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.
Give the
money to Aaron and his sons as the
redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”
And Moses took the
redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:
So Moses collected the
redemption money from those in excess of the number redeemed by the Levites.
Of the
firstborn of the children of Israel took he the
money; a thousand three hundred and
threescore and five shekels, after the
shekel of the sanctuary:
He collected the
money from the
firstborn of the Israelites: 1,365 shekels, according to the sanctuary
shekel.
And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And Moses gave the
redemption money to Aaron and his sons in obedience to the word of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou
redeem, according to thine
estimation, for the
money of five shekels, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.
You are to pay the
redemption price for a month-old male according to your
valuation: five shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary
shekel, which is twenty gerahs.
Ye shall
buy meat of them for
money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also
buy water of them for
money, that ye may drink.
You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’”
Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet;
You can sell us food to eat and water to drink in exchange for silver. Only let us pass through on foot,
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place the LORD your God will choose.
And thou shalt
bestow that
money for
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for
whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt
rejoice, thou, and thine household,
Then you may
spend the
money on anything you desire: cattle, sheep, wine, strong drink, or anything you wish. You are to feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and
rejoice with your household.

And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go
whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for
money, thou shalt not make
merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.
And if you are not pleased with her, you are to let her go wherever she wishes. But you must not sell her for money or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her.
Do not charge your brother interest on
money, food, or any other type of
loan.
The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of
Canaan in Taanach by the waters of
Megiddo; they took no gain of
money.
Kings came and fought; then the kings of
Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of
Megiddo, but they took no
plunder of silver.
And when
Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought
money in their hand.
When
Delilah realized that he had revealed to her all that was in his heart, she sent this message to the lords of the Philistines: “Come up once more, for he has revealed to me all that is in his heart.” Then the lords of the Philistines came to her, bringing the
money in their hands.
Yet he restored the
money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a
graven image and a
molten image: and they were in the house of
Micah.
So he returned the silver to his mother, and she took two hundred shekels of silver and gave them to a
silversmith, who made them into a
graven image and a
molten idol. And they were placed in the house of
Micah.
And
Ahab spake unto
Naboth, saying, Give me thy
vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better
vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in
money.
So
Ahab said to
Naboth, “Give me your
vineyard to use as a vegetable garden, since it is next to my palace. I will give you a better
vineyard in its place—or if you
prefer, I will give you its value in silver.”
And he said unto her, Because I spake unto
Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy
vineyard for
money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another
vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my
vineyard.
Ahab answered, “Because I spoke to
Naboth the Jezreelite and told him, ‘Give me your
vineyard for silver, or if you wish, I will give you another
vineyard in its place.’ And he replied, ‘I will not give you my
vineyard!’”
And it came to pass, when
Jezebel heard that
Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that
Jezebel said to
Ahab, Arise, take possession of the
vineyard of
Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for
money: for
Naboth is not alive, but dead.
When
Jezebel heard that
Naboth had been stoned to death, she said to
Ahab, “Get up and take possession of the
vineyard of
Naboth the Jezreelite, who refused to give it to you for silver. For
Naboth is no longer alive, but dead.”
And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his
chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive
money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?
But
Elisha questioned him, “Did not my spirit go with you when the man got down from his
chariot to meet you? Is this the time to accept
money and clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, menservants and maidservants?
And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
Then
Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the
money brought as sacred gifts into the house of the LORD—the census
money, the
money from vows, and the
money brought
voluntarily into the house of the LORD.
Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.
So King
Joash called Jehoiada and the other priests and said, “Why have you not repaired the damage to the temple? Now, therefore, take no more
money from your
constituency, but hand it over for the repair of the temple.”
And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.
So the priests agreed that they would not receive money from the people and that they would not repair the temple themselves.
But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the
lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the
money that was brought into the house of the LORD.
Then Jehoiada the priest took a chest, bored a hole in its
lid, and set it beside the altar on the right side as one enters the house of the LORD. There the priests who guarded the
threshold put all the
money brought into the house of the LORD.
And it was so, when they saw that there was much
money in the chest, that the king’s
scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the
money that was found in the house of the LORD.
Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of
money in the chest, the royal
scribe and the high priest would go up, count the
money brought into the house of the LORD, and
tie it up in bags.
And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
Then they would put the counted
money into the hands of those who
supervised the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the work—the carpenters, builders,
Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD
bowls of silver,
snuffers, basons,
trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the
money that was brought into the house of the LORD:
However, the
money brought into the house of the LORD was not used for making silver basins,
wick trimmers,
sprinkling bowls,
trumpets, or any articles of gold or silver for the house of the LORD.
Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
No accounting was required from the men who received the
money to pay the workmen, because they acted with
integrity.
The
trespass money and sin
money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests’.
The money from the guilt offerings and sin offerings was not brought into the house of the LORD; it belonged to the priests.
And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
Menahem exacted this money from each of the wealthy men of Israel—fifty shekels of silver from each man—to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria withdrew and did not remain in the land.
Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:
“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest and have him count the money that has been brought into the house of the LORD, which the doorkeepers have collected from the people.
Howbeit there was no
reckoning made with them of the
money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.
But they need not account for the
money put into their hands, since they work with
integrity.”
And Shaphan the
scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the
money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.
And Shaphan the
scribe went to the king and reported, “Your servants have paid out the
money that was found in the temple and have put it into the hands of the workers and supervisors of the house of the LORD.”
And
Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the
money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.
So
Jehoiakim paid the silver and gold to Pharaoh Neco, but to meet Pharaoh’s demand he taxed the land and exacted the silver and the gold from the people, each according to his wealth.
And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel
money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye
hasten the matter.
Howbeit the Levites
hastened it not.
So he gathered the priests and Levites and said, “Go out to the cities of Judah and collect the
money due annually from all Israel, to repair the house of your God. Do it quickly.” The Levites, however, did not make
haste.
Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much
money, the king’s
scribe and the high priest’s officer came and
emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered
money in abundance.
Whenever the chest was brought by the Levites to the king’s overseers and they saw that there was a large amount of
money, the royal
scribe and the officer of the high priest would come and empty the chest and carry it back to its place. They did this daily and gathered the
money in abundance.
And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and
hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to
mend the house of the LORD.
Then the king and Jehoiada would give the
money to those who
supervised the labor on the house of the LORD to
hire stonecutters and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, as well as workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD.
And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the
money before the king and Jehoiada,
whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and to offer
withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.
When they were finished, they brought the rest of the money to the king and Jehoiada to make with it the articles for the house of the LORD—utensils for the service and for the burnt offerings, dishes, and other objects of gold and silver. Throughout the days of Jehoiada, burnt offerings were presented regularly in the house of the LORD.
And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the
money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of
Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the
remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem.
So they went to Hilkiah the high priest and gave him the
money that had been brought into the house of God, which the Levites at the doors had collected from the people of
Manasseh and Ephraim, from all the
remnant of Israel, Judah, and Benjamin, and from the people of Jerusalem.
Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to
buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed.
They also gave
money to the carpenters and builders to
buy dressed stone, as well as timbers for couplings and beams for the buildings that the kings of Judah had allowed to
deteriorate.
And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the LORD given by Moses.
While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the LORD written by Moses.
And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen.
They have paid out the money that was found in the house of the LORD and have put it into the hands of the supervisors and workers.”
They gave
money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring
cedar trees from
Lebanon to the sea of
Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.
They gave
money to the masons and carpenters, and food and drink and oil to the people of
Sidon and Tyre to bring
cedar logs from
Lebanon to
Joppa by sea, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.
That thou mayest
buy speedily with this
money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
With this
money, therefore, you are to
buy as many bulls, rams, and lambs as needed, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings, and offer them on the altar at the house of your God in Jerusalem.
There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.
Still others were saying, “We have borrowed money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.
I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them
money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this
usury.
I, as well as my brothers and my servants, have been
lending the people
money and grain. Please, let us stop this
usury.
Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the
hundredth part of the
money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.
Please restore to them immediately their fields, vineyards, olive groves, and houses, along with the percentage of the
money, grain, new wine, and oil that you have been
assessing them.”
And the king said unto
Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.
“Keep your
money,” said the king to
Haman. “These people are given to you to do with them as you please.”
And
Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the
money that
Haman had promised to pay to the king’s
treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
and
Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, including the exact amount of
money that
Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury in order to destroy the Jews.
If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:
if I have
devoured its produce without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they
bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of
money, and every one an
earring of gold.
All his brothers and sisters and prior acquaintances came and
dined with him in his house. They
consoled him and comforted him over all the
adversity that the LORD had brought upon him. And each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.

who

He hath taken a

Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a

Why should the

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
He who loves

excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
For wisdom, like money, is a shelter, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.
A feast is made for
laughter, and wine maketh
merry: but
money answereth all things.
A feast is prepared for
laughter, and wine makes life
merry, but
money is the answer for everything.
Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with
money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast
wearied me with thine
iniquities.
You have not bought Me sweet cane with your silver, nor satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins; you have
wearied Me with your
iniquities.
For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold
yourselves for
nought; and ye shall be redeemed without
money.
For this is what the LORD says: “You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed.”
