And
Abram said to the king of
Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the
possessor of heaven and earth,
But
Abram replied to the king of
Sodom, “I have
raised my hand to the LORD God Most High,
Creator of heaven and earth,
That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of
Goshen; for every
shepherd is an
abomination unto the Egyptians.
you are to say, ‘Your servants have
raised livestock ever since our youth—both we and our fathers.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of
Goshen, since all
shepherds are
detestable to the Egyptians.”
And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and
smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded; in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials, Aaron raised the staff and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was turned to blood.
And in very deed for this cause have I
raised thee up, for to
shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display My power to you, and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he
smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation
drank, and their beasts also.
Then Moses
raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water
gushed out, and the congregation and their
livestock were able to drink.
And Joshua
raised up their sons in their place, and these were the ones he
circumcised. Until this time they were still
uncircumcised, since they had not been
circumcised along the way.
And they
raised over him a great
heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of
Achor, unto this day.
And they
heaped over
Achan a large pile of rocks that remains to this day. So the LORD turned from His burning anger. Therefore that place is called the Valley of
Achor to this day.
And the king of
Ai he
hanged on a tree until
eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his
carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise
thereon a great
heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.
He hung the king of
Ai on a tree until evening, and at
sunset Joshua commanded that they take down the body from the tree and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And over it they
raised a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day.
Nevertheless the LORD
raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that
spoiled them.
Then the LORD
raised up judges, who saved them from the hands of those who
plundered them.
And when the LORD
raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it
repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that
oppressed them and
vexed them.
Whenever the LORD
raised up a judge for the Israelites, He was with that judge and saved them from the hands of their enemies while the judge was still alive; for the LORD was moved to
pity by their
groaning under those who
oppressed them and
afflicted them.
And when the children of Israel
cried unto the LORD, the LORD
raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz,
Caleb’s younger brother.
But when the Israelites
cried out to the LORD, He
raised up Othniel son of
Caleb’s younger brother Kenaz as a deliverer to save them.
But when the children of Israel
cried unto the LORD, the LORD
raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of
Gera, a
Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto
Eglon the king of Moab.
And again they
cried out to the LORD, and He
raised up Ehud son of
Gera, a left-handed
Benjamite, as their deliverer. So they sent him with tribute to
Eglon king of Moab.
And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount
Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and
cried, and said unto them,
Hearken unto me, ye men of
Shechem, that God may
hearken unto you.
And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel
shouted with a great
shout, so that the earth
rang again.
When the ark of the covenant of the LORD entered the camp, all the Israelites
raised such a great
shout that it
shook the ground.
But the poor man had nothing, save one little
ewe lamb, which he had bought and
nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and
drank of his own cup, and lay in his
bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
but the poor man had nothing except one small
ewe lamb that he had bought. He
raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food and
drank from his cup; it
slept in his arms and was like a daughter to him.
And
Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
Then
Ahimaaz called out to the king, “All is well!” And he bowed facedown before the king. He continued, “Blessed be the LORD your God! He has delivered up the men who
raised their hands against my lord the king.”
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of
Jesse said, and the man who was
raised up on high, the
anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet
psalmist of Israel, said,
These are the last words of David: “The
oracle of David son of
Jesse, the
oracle of the man
raised on high, the one
anointed by the God of Jacob, and the sweet
psalmist of Israel:
And king Solomon
raised a
levy out of all Israel; and the
levy was thirty thousand men.
Then King Solomon conscripted a labor force of 30,000 men from all Israel.
And this is the reason of the
levy which king Solomon
raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and
Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and
Megiddo, and
Gezer.
This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon imposed to build the house of the LORD, his own palace, the supporting terraces, and the wall of Jerusalem, as well as Hazor,
Megiddo, and
Gezer.
And God
stirred him up another
adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
And God
raised up against Solomon another
adversary, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his master, Hadadezer king of Zobah,
Go, tell
Jeroboam, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,
Forasmuch as I
exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,
Go, tell
Jeroboam that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘I
raised you up from among the people and appointed you ruler over My people Israel.
Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou
exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Whom have you
taunted and
blasphemed? Against whom have you
raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
For he built up again the high places which
Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for
Baal, and made a
grove, as did
Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
For he rebuilt the high places that his father
Hezekiah had destroyed, and he
raised up altars for
Baal. He made an Asherah pole, as King
Ahab of Israel had done, and he worshiped and served all the host of heaven.
and the men of Judah
raised the battle cry. And when they
raised the cry, God routed
Jeroboam and all Israel before
Abijah and Judah.
Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and
raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired
Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.
Then
Hezekiah worked
resolutely to rebuild all the broken sections of the wall and to raise up towers on it. He also built an outer wall and
reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David, and he produced an abundance of weapons and shields.
For he built again the high places which
Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for
Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
For he rebuilt the high places that his father
Hezekiah had
torn down, and he
raised up altars for the Baals and made Asherah poles. And he worshiped and served all the host of heaven.
Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of
Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and
raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the
fenced cities of Judah.
After this,
Manasseh rebuilt the outer wall of the City of David from west of
Gihon in the valley to the entrance of the Fish Gate, and he brought it around the hill of Ophel and
heightened it considerably. He also stationed military commanders in all the fortified cities of Judah.
Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.
So the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, along with the priests and Levites—
everyone whose spirit God had
stirred—prepared to go up and rebuild the house of the LORD in Jerusalem.
Also I have made a decree, that
whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be
hanged thereon; and let his house be made a
dunghill for this.
I also decree that if any man interferes with this directive, a beam is to be
torn from his house and
raised up, and he is to be impaled on it. And his own house shall be made a pile of
rubble for this
offense.
Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and
cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.
And the Levites—Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani—stood on the
raised platform and
cried out in a loud voice to the LORD their God.
And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of
Mordecai,
whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
And all of
Mordecai’s powerful and magnificent accomplishments, together with the full account of the greatness to which the king had
raised him, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia?
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not
awake, nor be
raised out of their sleep.
so a man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no more, he will not be
awakened or
roused from sleep.
Thou hast given a
banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth.
Selah.
You have
raised a
banner for those who fear You, that they may
flee the bow.
Selah And the
vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for
thyself.
the root Your right hand has planted, the son You have
raised up for
Yourself.
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for
thyself.
Let Your hand be upon the man at Your right hand, on the son of man You have
raised up for
Yourself.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
The floodwaters have risen, O LORD; the rivers have raised their voice; the seas lift up their pounding waves.
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
So He
raised His hand and
swore to cast them down in the wilderness,
For he commandeth, and raiseth the
stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
For He spoke and
raised a
tempest that lifted the waves of the sea.
He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.
He has
raised up a horn for His people, the praise of all His saints, of Israel, a people near to Him.
Hallelujah!
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness,
leaning upon her beloved? I
raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee.
Who is this coming up from the wilderness,
leaning on her beloved? I
roused you under the apple tree; there your mother conceived you; there she
travailed and brought you forth.
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have
nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
Listen, O heavens, and give ear, O earth, for the LORD has spoken: “I have
raised children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against Me.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be
exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.
Therefore is the anger of the LORD
kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath
smitten them: and the hills did
tremble, and their carcases were
torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Therefore the anger of the LORD burns against His people; His hand is
raised against them to strike them down. The mountains
quake, and the corpses lay like refuse in the streets.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
Therefore the LORD shall set up the
adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;
The LORD has raised up the foes of Rezin against him and joined his enemies together.
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath
raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
Sheol beneath is eager to meet you upon your arrival. It stirs the spirits of the dead to
greet you— all the rulers of the earth. It makes all the kings of the nations rise from their thrones.
All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an
ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a
trumpet, hear ye.
All you people of the world and dwellers of the earth, when a
banner is
raised on the mountains, you will see it; when a ram’s horn sounds, you will hear it.
Be thou
ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I
travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I
nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.
Be
ashamed, O
Sidon, the
stronghold of the sea, for the sea has spoken: “I have not been in labor or given birth. I have not
raised young men or brought up young women.”
Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not,
til the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they
raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.
Look at the land of the Chaldeans— a people now of no account. The Assyrians destined it for the desert creatures; they set up their siege towers and
stripped its palaces. They brought it to ruin.
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
And from every high mountain and every raised hill, streams of water will flow in the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall.
Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou
exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Whom have you
taunted and
blasphemed? Against whom have you
raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
Who
raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven
stubble to his bow.
Who has
aroused one from the east and called him to his feet in righteousness? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown
chaff with his bow.
I have
raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon
morter, and as the
potter treadeth clay.
I have
raised up one from the north, and he has come— one from the east who calls on My name. He will march over rulers as if they were mortar, like a
potter who treads the clay.
I have
raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my
captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
I will raise up Cyrus in righteousness, and I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild My city and set My exiles free, but not for payment or reward, says the LORD of Hosts.”
I will turn all My mountains into roads, and My
highways will be
raised up.
Behold, My Servant will
prosper; He will be
raised and lifted up and highly
exalted.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
This is what the LORD says: “Behold, an army is coming from the land of the north; a great nation is
stirred up from the ends of the earth.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great
whirlwind shall be
raised up from the coasts of the earth.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold!
Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth.”
Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;
Because you may say, “The LORD has raised up for us prophets in Babylon,”
Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
Behold, an army is coming from the north; a great nation and many kings are
stirred up from the ends of the earth.
Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath
raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his
device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the
vengeance of the LORD, the
vengeance of his temple.
Sharpen the arrows! Fill the quivers! The LORD has
aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, because His plan is aimed at Babylon to destroy her, for it is the
vengeance of the LORD—
vengeance for His temple.
The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath
abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
The Lord has rejected His altar; He has abandoned His sanctuary; He has delivered the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy. They have
raised a
shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.
I saw also the height of the house round about: the foundations of the side chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.
I saw that the temple had a raised base all around it, forming the foundation of the side rooms. It was the full length of a rod, six long cubits.
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it
raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise,
devour much flesh.
Suddenly another beast appeared, which looked like a bear. It was
raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. So it was told, ‘Get up and
gorge yourself on flesh!’
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and
sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to
scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
And the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river,
raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him
swear by Him who lives
forever, saying, “It will be for a time, and times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has finally been
shattered, all these things will be completed.”
And I
raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for
Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.
I raised up prophets from your sons and Nazirites from your young men. Is this not true, O children of Israel?” declares the LORD.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me
barred me in
forever! But You
raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be
exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and the peoples will stream to it.
Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is
raised up out of his holy
habitation.
Be silent before the LORD, all people, for He has
roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”
And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the
ephah.
And behold, the cover of lead was
raised, and there was a woman sitting inside the
basket.
When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and
raised up thy sons, O
Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
For I will bend Judah as My bow and fit it with Ephraim. I will
rouse your sons, O
Zion, against the sons of Greece. I will make you like the sword of a mighty man.
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
All the land from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be turned into a plain, but Jerusalem will be
raised up and will remain in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
Then Joseph being
raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had
bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
When Joseph
woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and embraced Mary as his wife.
The blind receive their sight, and the
lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the
deaf hear, the dead are
raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
The blind receive sight, the
lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, the
deaf hear, the dead are
raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
From that time forth began Jesus to
shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be killed, and be
raised again the third day.
From that time on Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and
scribes, and that He must be killed and on the third day be
raised to life.
And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Do not tell
anyone about this vision until the Son of Man has been
raised from the dead.”
And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be
raised again. And they were exceeding
sorry.
They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be
raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply
grieved.
And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to
mock, and to
scourge, and to
crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles to be
mocked and
flogged and
crucified. And on the third day He will be
raised to life.”
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which
slept arose,
The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen
asleep were
raised.
And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the
lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, the
deaf hear, the dead are
raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
So He replied, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the
lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, the
deaf hear, the dead are
raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be slain, and be
raised the third day.
“The Son of Man must suffer many things,” He said. “He must be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and
scribes, and He must be killed and on the third day be
raised to life.”
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the
womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast
sucked.
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd
raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the
womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that
nursed You!”
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
and
raised their voices,
shouting, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
Now that the dead are
raised, even Moses shewed at the
bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
Even Moses demonstrates that the dead are
raised, in the passage about the burning
bush. For he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Then Jesus six days before the
passover came to
Bethany, where
Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he
raised from the dead.
Six days before the
Passover, Jesus came to
Bethany, the hometown of
Lazarus, whom He had
raised from the dead.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see
Lazarus also, whom he had
raised from the dead.
Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews learned that Jesus was there. And they came not only because of Him, but also to see
Lazarus, whom He had
raised from the dead.
The people therefore that was with him when he called
Lazarus out of his grave, and
raised him from the dead, bare record.
Meanwhile, many people continued to
testify that they had been with Jesus when He called
Lazarus from the tomb and
raised him from the dead.
This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after He was raised from the dead.
Whom God hath
raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be
holden of it.
But God
raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the
agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its
clutches.
This Jesus hath God
raised up,
whereof we all are witnesses.
God has raised this Jesus to life, to which we are all witnesses.
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath
raised from the dead;
whereof we are witnesses.
You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses of the fact.
Unto you first God, having
raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to
bless you, in turning away every one of you from his
iniquities.
When God
raised up His Servant, He sent Him first to you to
bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom ye
crucified, whom God
raised from the dead, even by him
doth this man stand here before you whole.
then let this be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom you
crucified but whom God
raised from the dead, that this man stands before you
healed.
The God of our fathers
raised up Jesus, whom ye
slew and
hanged on a tree.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had killed by hanging Him on a tree.
Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
God raised Him up on the third day and caused Him to be seen—
And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light
shined in the prison: and he
smote Peter on the side, and
raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light
shone in the cell. He
tapped Peter on the side and
woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly.” And the chains fell off his wrists.
And when he had removed him, he
raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of
Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
After removing Saul, He
raised up David as their king and
