King James Bible KJV Bible
Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
You are to take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its
mate; a pair of every kind of
unclean animal, a male and its
mate;
Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
The clean and unclean animals, the birds, and everything that crawls along the ground
Or if a soul touch any
unclean thing, whether it be a
carcase of an
unclean beast, or a
carcase of
unclean cattle, or the
carcase of
unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be
unclean, and guilty.
Or if a person touches anything
unclean—whether the
carcass of any
unclean wild animal or
livestock or
crawling creature—even if he is unaware of it, he is
unclean and guilty.
Or if he touch the
uncleanness of man,
whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be
defiled withal, and it be
hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.
Or if he touches human uncleanness—anything by which one becomes unclean—even if he is unaware of it, when he realizes it, he is guilty.
And the flesh that toucheth any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire: and as for the flesh, all that be clean shall eat thereof.
Meat that touches anything
unclean must not be eaten; it is to be burned up. As for any other meat,
anyone who is
ceremonially clean may eat it.
But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that
pertain unto the LORD, having his
uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
But if
anyone who is
unclean eats meat from the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.
Moreover the soul that shall touch any
unclean thing, as the
uncleanness of man, or any
unclean beast, or any
abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which
pertain unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
If one touches anything
unclean, whether human
uncleanness, an
unclean animal, or any
unclean,
detestable thing, and then eats any of the meat of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.”
And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the clean and the unclean,
Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that
chew the
cud, or of them that divide the
hoof: as the
camel, because he cheweth the
cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is
unclean unto you.
But of those that only
chew the
cud or only have a divided
hoof, you are not to eat the following: The
camel, though it chews the
cud, does not have a divided
hoof; it is
unclean for you.
And the
coney, because he cheweth the
cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is
unclean unto you.
The rock
badger, though it chews the
cud, does not have a divided
hoof; it is
unclean for you.
And the
hare, because he cheweth the
cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is
unclean unto you.
The
rabbit, though it chews the
cud, does not have a divided
hoof; it is
unclean for you.
And the
swine, though he divide the
hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the
cud; he is
unclean to you.
And the pig, though it has a split
hoof completely divided, does not
chew the
cud; it is
unclean for you.
Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their
carcase shall ye not touch; they are
unclean to you.
You must not eat their meat or touch their
carcasses; they are
unclean for you.
And for these ye shall be
unclean:
whosoever toucheth the
carcase of them shall be
unclean until the even.
These creatures will make you
unclean.
Whoever touches their
carcasses will be
unclean until evening,
And
whosoever beareth ought of the
carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be
unclean until the even.
and
whoever picks up one of their
carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be
unclean until evening.
The carcases of every beast which divideth the
hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the
cud, are
unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be
unclean.
Every animal with
hooves not completely divided or that does not
chew the
cud is
unclean for you.
Whoever touches any of them will be
unclean.
And
whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are
unclean unto you:
whoso toucheth their
carcase shall be
unclean until the even.
All the four-footed animals that walk on their paws are
unclean for you;
whoever touches their
carcasses will be
unclean until evening,
And he that beareth the
carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be
unclean until the even: they are
unclean unto you.
and
anyone who picks up a
carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be
unclean until evening. They are
unclean for you.
The following creatures that move along the ground are
unclean for you: the
mole, the
mouse, any kind of great
lizard,
These are
unclean to you among all that
creep:
whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be
unclean until the even.
These animals are
unclean for you among all the
crawling creatures.
Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be
unclean until evening.
And upon
whatsoever any of them, when they are dead,
doth fall, it shall be
unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or
raiment, or skin, or
sack,
whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be
unclean until the even; so it shall be
cleansed.
When one of them dies and falls on something, that article becomes
unclean; any article of wood, clothing, leather,
sackcloth, or any
implement used for work must be
rinsed with water and will remain
unclean until evening; then it will be clean.
If any of them falls into a clay pot, everything in it will be unclean; you must break the pot.
Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be
unclean: and all drink that may be
drunk in every such vessel shall be
unclean.
Any food coming into contact with water from that pot will be unclean, and any drink in such a container will be unclean.
And every thing
whereupon any part of their
carcase falleth shall be
unclean; whether it be
oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are
unclean, and shall be
unclean unto you.
Anything upon which one of their
carcasses falls will be
unclean. If it is an
oven or
cooking pot, it must be
smashed; it is
unclean and will remain
unclean for you.
Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is
plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their
carcase shall be
unclean.
Nevertheless, a spring or
cistern containing water will remain clean, but one who touches a
carcass in it will be
unclean.
But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their
carcase fall
thereon, it shall be
unclean unto you.
but if water has been put on the seed and a
carcass falls on it, it is
unclean for you.
And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the
carcase thereof shall be
unclean until the even.
If an animal that you may eat dies,
anyone who touches the
carcass will be
unclean until evening.
And he that eateth of the
carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be
unclean until the even: he also that beareth the
carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be
unclean until the even.
Whoever eats from the
carcass must wash his clothes and will be
unclean until evening, and
anyone who picks up the
carcass must wash his clothes and will be
unclean until evening.
To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between animals that may be eaten and those that may not.’”
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be
unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her
infirmity shall she be
unclean.
“Say to the Israelites, ‘A woman who becomes
pregnant and gives birth to a son will be
unclean for seven days, as she is during the days of her
menstruation.
But if she bear a
maid child, then she shall be
unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her
purifying threescore and six days.
If, however, she gives birth to a daughter, the woman will be
unclean for two weeks as she is during her
menstruation. Then she must continue in
purification from her
bleeding for sixty-six days.
And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of
leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and
pronounce him
unclean.
The priest is to examine the
infection on his skin, and if the hair in the
infection has turned white and the
sore appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a skin disease. After the priest examines him, he must
pronounce him
unclean.
And if the priest see that, behold, the
scab spreadeth in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean: it is a
leprosy.
The priest will reexamine him, and if the
rash has spread on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him
unclean; he has a skin disease.
It is an old
leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is
unclean.
it is a
chronic skin disease and the priest must
pronounce him
unclean. He need not
isolate him, for he is
unclean.
But when raw flesh appeareth in him, he shall be unclean.
But whenever raw flesh appears on someone, he will be unclean.
And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and
pronounce him to be
unclean: for the raw flesh is
unclean: it is a
leprosy.
When the priest sees the raw flesh, he must
pronounce him
unclean. The raw flesh is
unclean; it is a skin disease.
And if, when the priest
seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean: it is a plague of
leprosy broken out of the
boil.
The priest shall examine it, and if it appears to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean; it is a diseased
infection that has broken out in the
boil.
And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean: it is a plague.
If it spreads any further on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him
unclean; it is an
infection.
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a
leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
the priest must examine it. If the hair in the spot has turned white and the spot appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest must
pronounce him
unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine him, and if it has spread further on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him
unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall
pronounce him
unclean: it is a dry
scall, even a
leprosy upon the head or
beard.
the priest shall examine the
infection, and if it appears to be deeper than the skin and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest must
pronounce him
unclean; it is a
scaly outbreak, an
infectious disease of the head or
chin.
Then the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if the
scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is
unclean.
the priest is to examine him, and if the
scaly outbreak has spread on the skin, the priest need not look for yellow hair; the person is
unclean.
He is a
leprous man, he is
unclean: the priest shall
pronounce him utterly
unclean; his plague is in his head.
the man is diseased; he is
unclean. The priest must
pronounce him
unclean because of the
infection on his head.
And the
leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper
lip, and shall cry,
Unclean,
unclean.
A diseased person must wear
torn clothes and let his hair
hang loose, and he must cover his mouth and cry out, ‘
Unclean,
unclean!’
All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be
defiled; he is
unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his
habitation be.
As long as he has the
infection, he remains
unclean. He must live alone in a place outside the camp.
And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day: if the plague be spread in the garment, either in the
warp, or in the
woof, or in a skin, or in any work that is made of skin; the plague is a
fretting leprosy; it is
unclean.
On the seventh day the priest shall reexamine it, and if the
mildew has spread in the
fabric,
weave,
knit, or leather, then regardless of how it is used, it is a
harmful mildew; the article is
unclean.
And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is
unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is
fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.
After it has been washed, the priest is to reexamine it, and if the
mildewed article has not changed in appearance, it is
unclean. Even though the
mildew has not spread, you must burn it, whether the
rot is on the front or back.
This is the law of the plague of
leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the
warp, or
woof, or any thing of skins, to
pronounce it clean, or to
pronounce it
unclean.
And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed from his
uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:
Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make
atonement for the one to be
cleansed from his
uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering
Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:
The priest must order that the house be cleared before he enters it to examine the
mildew, so that nothing in the house will become
unclean. After this, the priest shall go in to
inspect the house.
Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:
he must order that the
contaminated stones be pulled out and thrown into an
unclean place outside the city.
And he shall cause the house to be
scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they
scrape off without the city into an
unclean place:
And he shall have the inside of the house
scraped completely and the
plaster that is
scraped off
dumped into an
unclean place outside the city.
Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a
fretting leprosy in the house: it is
unclean.
the priest must come and
inspect it. If the
mildew has spread in the house, it is a destructive
mildew; the house is
unclean.
And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the
morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an
unclean place.
It must be
torn down with its stones, its timbers, and all its
plaster, and taken outside the city to an
unclean place.
Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.
Anyone who enters the house during any of the days that it is closed up will be
unclean until evening.
To teach when it is
unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of
leprosy.
to determine when something is clean or
unclean. This is the law regarding skin diseases and
mildew.”
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.
“Say to the Israelites, ‘When any man has a bodily discharge, the discharge is unclean.
And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.
This uncleanness is from his discharge, whether his body allows the discharge to flow or blocks it. So his discharge will bring about uncleanness.
Every bed,
whereon he lieth that hath the issue, is
unclean: and every thing,
whereon he sitteth, shall be
unclean.
Any bed on which the man with the discharge lies will be unclean, and any furniture on which he sits will be unclean.
And
whosoever toucheth his bed shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
Anyone who touches his bed must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And he that sitteth on any thing
whereon he sat that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
Whoever sits on furniture on which the man with the discharge was sitting must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
Whoever touches the body of the man with a discharge must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And if he that hath the issue
spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
If the man with the discharge spits on one who is clean, that person must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And what
saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be
unclean.
Any
saddle on which the man with the discharge rides will be
unclean.
And
whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be
unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
Whoever touches anything that was under him will be
unclean until evening, and
whoever carries such things must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And
whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not
rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
If the man with the discharge touches
anyone without first
rinsing his hands with water, the one who was touched must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And if any man’s seed of
copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be
unclean until the even.
When a man has an
emission of
semen, he must
bathe his whole body with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And every garment, and every skin,
whereon is the seed of
copulation, shall be washed with water, and be
unclean until the even.
Any clothing or leather on which there is an
emission of
semen must be washed with water, and it will remain
unclean until evening.
The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of
copulation, they shall both
bathe themselves in water, and be
unclean until the even.
If a man lies with a woman and there is an
emission of
semen, both must
bathe with water, and they will remain
unclean until evening.
And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and
whosoever toucheth her shall be
unclean until the even.
When a woman has a discharge consisting of blood from her body, she will be
unclean due to her
menstruation for seven days, and
anyone who touches her will be
unclean until evening.
And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.
Anything on which she lies or sits during her
menstruation will be
unclean,
And
whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
and
anyone who touches her bed must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And
whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
Whoever touches any furniture on which she was sitting must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And if it be on her bed, or on any thing
whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be
unclean until the even.
And whether it is a bed or furniture on which she was sitting,
whoever touches it will be
unclean until evening.
And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be
unclean seven days; and all the bed
whereon he lieth shall be
unclean.
If a man lies with her and her
menstrual flow touches him, he will be
unclean for seven days, and any bed on which he lies will become
unclean.
And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.
When a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days at a time other than her
menstrual period, or if it continues beyond her period, she will be
unclean all the days of her
unclean discharge, just as she is during the days of her
menstruation.
Every bed
whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and
whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be
unclean, as the
uncleanness of her separation.
Any bed on which she lies or any furniture on which she sits during the days of her discharge will be
unclean, like her bed during her
menstrual period.
And
whosoever toucheth those things shall be
unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even.
Anyone who touches these things will be
unclean; he must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening.
And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her
uncleanness.
The priest is to sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make
atonement for her before the LORD for her
unclean discharge.
Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their
uncleanness; that they die not in their
uncleanness, when they
defile my tabernacle that is among them.
You must keep the children of Israel separate from their
uncleanness, so that they do not die by
defiling My tabernacle, which is among them.
This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed goeth from him, and is
defiled therewith;
This is the law of him who has a discharge, of the man who has an
emission of
semen whereby he is
unclean,
And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.
of a woman in her
menstrual period, of any male or female who has a discharge, and of a man who lies with an
unclean woman.’”
And he shall make an
atonement for the holy place, because of the
uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their
uncleanness.
So he shall make
atonement for the Most Holy Place because of the impurities and
rebellious acts of the Israelites in regard to all their sins. He is to do the same for the Tent of Meeting which abides among them, because it is surrounded by their impurities.
And he shall
sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and
cleanse it, and
hallow it from the
uncleanness of the children of Israel.
He is to
sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to
cleanse it and
consecrate it from the
uncleanness of the Israelites.
And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was
torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be
unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
And any person, whether native or foreigner, who eats anything found dead or
mauled by wild beasts must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be
unclean until evening; then he will be clean.
Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
You must not approach a woman to have sexual relations with her during her
menstrual period.
And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.
If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity. He has uncovered the nakedness of his brother; they shall be childless.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and
unclean, and between
unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as
unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and
unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as
unclean for you.
Say unto them,
Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel
hallow unto the LORD, having his
uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.
Tell them that for the generations to come, if any of their descendants in a state of
uncleanness approaches the sacred offerings that the Israelites
consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from My presence. I am the LORD.
What man
soever of the seed of Aaron is a
leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And
whoso toucheth any thing that is
unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
Or
whosoever toucheth any
creeping thing, whereby he may be made
unclean, or a man of whom he may take
uncleanness,
whatsoever uncleanness he hath;
or
whoever touches a
crawling creature or a person that makes him
unclean, whatever the
uncleanness may be—
The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
That which dieth of itself, or is
torn with beasts, he shall not eat to
defile himself
therewith: I am the LORD.
He must not eat anything found dead or
torn by wild animals, which would make him
unclean. I am the LORD.
And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest:
But if the
vow involves any of the
unclean animals that may not be brought as an offering to the LORD, the animal must be presented before the priest.
And if it be of an
unclean beast, then he shall
redeem it according to thine
estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it
thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy
estimation.
But if it is among the
unclean animals, then he may
redeem it according to your
valuation and add a fifth of its value. If it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your
valuation.
And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have
lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to
uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the
curse:
And he is to put the woman under oath and say to her, ‘If no other man has
slept with you and you have not gone
astray and become
defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be
immune to this bitter water that brings a
curse.
He shall not make himself
unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the
consecration of his God is upon his head.
Even if his father or mother or brother or sister should die, he is not to
defile himself, because the crown of
consecration to his God is upon his head.
And there were certain men, who were
defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the
passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day:
But there were some men who were
unclean due to a dead body, so they could not observe the
Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and Aaron that same day
And those men said unto him, We are
defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel?
and said to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”
