And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying,
Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the
stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and
brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
And you, O king, saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying: ‘Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the
stump with its roots in the ground, and a band of iron and bronze around it, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be
drenched with the
dew of heaven, and
graze with the beasts of the field till seven times pass him by.’
They
drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of
brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
As they
drank the wine, they praised their gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of
brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the
mastery of them, and
brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
At the command of the king, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions—they and their children and wives. And before they had reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and
crushed all their bones.
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast,
dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it
devoured and
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was
diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
After this, as I watched in my vision in the night, suddenly a fourth beast appeared, and it was
terrifying—
dreadful and extremely strong—with large iron teeth. It
devoured and
crushed; then it
trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had ten horns.
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was
diverse from all the others, exceeding
dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his
nails of
brass; which
devoured,
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others—extremely
terrifying—
devouring and
crushing with iron teeth and bronze claws, then
trampling underfoot whatever was left.
And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with
choler against him, and
smote the ram, and
brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
I saw him approach the ram in a
rage against him, and he struck the ram and
shattered his two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against him, and the goat threw him to the ground and
trampled him, and no one could deliver the ram from his power.
His body also was like the
beryl, and his face as the appearance of
lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished
brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
His body was like
beryl, his face like the brilliance of
lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the
gleam of polished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
But one from her family line will rise up in his place, come against the army of the king of the North, and enter his fortress, fighting and prevailing.
And the sword shall
abide on his cities, and shall
consume his
branches, and
devour them, because of their own counsels.
A sword will
flash through their cities; it will destroy the bars of their gates and
consume them in their own plans.
His
branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as
Lebanon.
He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
It has laid waste My
grapevine and
splintered My fig tree. It has
stripped off the bark and thrown it away; the
branches have turned white.
And he that is
courageous among the mighty shall
flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
Even the
bravest of mighty men will
flee naked on that day,” declares the LORD.
Arise and
thresh, O daughter of
Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy
hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will
consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Rise and
thresh, O Daughter of
Zion, for I will give you horns of iron and
hooves of bronze to break to pieces many peoples. Then you will
devote their gain to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the
munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong,
fortify thy power
mightily.
For the LORD will restore the
splendor of Jacob like the
splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and ruined the
branches of their vine.
The shield of his mighty men is made red, the
valiant men are in scarlet: the
chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the
fir trees shall be
terribly shaken.
The shields of his mighty men are red; the
valiant warriors are dressed in scarlet. The fittings of the
chariots flash like fire on the day they are prepared, and the spears of
cypress have been
brandished.
Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word.
Selah. Thou
didst cleave the earth with rivers.
You
brandished Your bow; You called for many arrows.
Selah You split the earth with rivers.
And the LORD said to
Satan: “The LORD rebukes you,
Satan! Indeed, the LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you! Is not this man a
firebrand snatched from the fire?”
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
Hear now, O high priest Joshua, you and your companions seated before you, who are indeed a sign. For behold, I am going to bring My servant, the Branch.
And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
And I questioned him further, “What are the two olive branches beside the two gold pipes from which the golden oil pours?”
And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four
chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of
brass.
And again I lifted up my eyes and saw four
chariots coming out from between two mountains—mountains of bronze.
And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
And you are to tell him that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Here is a man whose name is the Branch, and He will branch out from His place and build the temple of the LORD.
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an
oven; and all the proud,
yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be
stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor
branch.
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the
arrogant and every
evildoer will be
stubble; the day is coming when I will set them
ablaze,” says the LORD of Hosts. “Not a root or
branch will be left to them.”
Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Do not carry any gold or silver or copper in your belts.
Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and
lodge in the
branches thereof.
Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five
loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and
brake, and gave the
loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
And He directed the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five
loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He spoke a blessing. Then He broke the
loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

loaves and the fishes, and gave
thanks, and
brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
Taking the seven
loaves and the fish, He gave
thanks and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
A massive crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his
branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is
nigh:
Now learn this
lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its
branches become tender and
sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and
brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.”
But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great
branches; so that the fowls of the air may
lodge under the shadow of it.
But after it is planted, it grows to be the largest of all garden plants and puts forth great branches, so that the birds of the air nest in its shade.”
And when he had taken the five
loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and
brake the
loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
Taking the five
loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke the
loaves. Then He gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And He divided the two fish among them all.
And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots,
brasen vessels, and of tables.
And on returning from the market, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions for them to observe, including the washing of cups, pitchers, kettles, and couches for
dining.
And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven

thanks, and
brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
And He
instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then He took the seven
loaves, gave
thanks and broke them, and gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And they distributed them to the crowd.
When I
brake the five
loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
When I broke the five
loaves for the five thousand, how many
basketfuls of broken pieces did you collect?” “Twelve,” they answered.
And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
Many in the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut from the fields.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
Now learn this
lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its
branches become tender and
sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.
And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and
brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take it; this is My body.”
And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net
brake.
When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to
tear.
For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a
bramble bush gather they grapes.
For each tree is known by its own fruit. Indeed, figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor grapes from brambles.
(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For
oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in
fetters; and he
brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
For Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was bound with chains and
shackles, he had broken the chains and been driven by the
demon into solitary places.
Then he took the five
loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and
brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Taking the five
loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the people.
It is like a grain of
mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air
lodged in the
branches of it.
It is like a
mustard seed that a man
tossed into his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its
branches.”
And he took bread, and gave
thanks, and
brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in
remembrance of me.
And He took the bread, gave
thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you; do this in
remembrance of Me.”

brake, and gave to them.

Took
branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and
cried,
Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
They took palm
branches and went out to meet Him,
shouting: “
Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!”
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the
branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it
abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye
abide in me.
Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.
If a man
abide not in me, he is cast forth as a
branch, and is
withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
If
anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a
branch that is thrown away and
withers. Such
branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.
Then came the soldiers, and
brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was
crucified with him.
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been
crucified with Jesus, and those of the other.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they
brake not his legs:
But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
For if the firstfruit be holy, the
lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the
branches.
If the first part of the
dough is holy, so is the whole
batch; if the root is holy, so are the
branches.
And if some of the
branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree,
wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Now if some
branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, have been
grafted in among the others to share in the
nourishment of the olive root,
Boast not against the
branches. But if thou
boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
do not
boast over those
branches. If you do, remember this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
Thou
wilt say then, The
branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
You will say then, “
Branches were broken off so that I could be
grafted in.”
For if God
spared not the natural
branches, take
heed lest he also
spare not thee.
For if God did not
spare the natural
branches, He will certainly not
spare you either.
For if thou
wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and
wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural
branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
For if you were cut from a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were
grafted into one that is cultivated, how much more readily will these, the natural
branches, be
grafted into their own olive tree!
And when he had given
thanks, he
brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in
remembrance of me.
and when He had given
thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in
remembrance of Me.”
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding
brass, or a
tinkling cymbal.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing
gong or a
clanging cymbal.
Likewise, I want the women to
adorn themselves with respectable
apparel, with
modesty, and with self-control, not with
braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
not dependent on wine, not violent but gentle, peaceable, and free of the love of money.
To speak evil of no man, to be no
brawlers, but gentle,
shewing all
meekness unto all men.
to
malign no one, and to be peaceable and gentle, showing full consideration to
everyone.
And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and His voice was like the
roar of many waters.
And unto the angel of the church in
Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine
brass;
To the angel of the church in
Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like a
blazing fire and whose feet are like polished bronze.
After this I
beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet
repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and
brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
Now the rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not
repent of the works of their hands. They did not stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk.
The
merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of
brass, and iron, and marble,
cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of
citron wood and every article of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
And they
roasted the
passover with fire, as appertaineth: as for the sacrifices, they
sod them in
brass pots and pans with a good savour,
Wherefore against him Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon came up, and bound him with a chain of brass, and carried him into Babylon.
As for the house of the Lord, they burnt it, and
brake down the walls of Jerusalem, and set fire upon her towers:
And twenty golden vessels, and twelve vessels of
brass, even of fine
brass,
glittering like gold.
And pulled off the
sackcloth which she had on, and put off the garments of her
widowhood, and washed her body all over with water, and
anointed herself with precious
ointment, and
braided the hair of her head, and put on a
tire upon it, and put on her garments of
gladness,
wherewith she was
clad during the life of Manasses her husband.
And she took
sandals upon her feet, and put about her her
bracelets, and her chains, and her rings, and her earrings, and all her ornaments, and decked herself
bravely, to
allure the eyes of all men that should see her.
Then all the women of Israel ran together to see her, and blessed her, and made a dance among them for her: and she took branches in her hand, and gave also to the women that were with her.
He
bragged that he would burn up my borders, and kill my young men with the sword, and
dash the
sucking children against the ground, and make mine infants as a prey, and my virgins as a
spoil.
For though they
flourish in
branches for a time; yet standing not last, they shall be
shaken with the wind, and through the force of winds they shall be rooted out.
The imperfect
branches shall be broken off, their fruit unprofitable, not ripe to eat,
yea, meet for nothing.
Notwithstanding his care is, not that he shall have much labour, nor that his life is short: but striveth to
excel goldsmiths and silversmiths, and endeavoureth to do like the workers in
brass, and counteth it his glory to make
counterfeit things.
Whether it were a
whistling wind, or a
melodious noise of birds among the spreading
branches, or a pleasing fall of water running violently,
The root of wisdom is to fear the Lord, and the branches thereof are long life.
He shall set his children under her shelter, and shall
lodge under her
branches.
Learning is unto a wise man as an ornament of gold, and like a
bracelet upon his right arm.
Her children shall not take root, and her branches shall bring forth no fruit.
As the
turpentine tree I stretched out my
branches, and my
branches are the
branches of honour and grace.
The talk of him that sweareth much maketh the hair stand upright; and their brawls make one stop his ears.
For the yoke thereof is a yoke of iron, and the bands thereof are bands of brass.
The children of the ungodly shall not bring forth many branches: but are as unclean roots upon a hard rock.
For he destroyed the enemies on every side, and brought to
nought the Philistines his
adversaries, and
brake their horn in
sunder unto this day.
Who
wast ordained for reproofs in their times, to
pacify the wrath of the Lord’s judgment, before it
brake forth into
fury, and to turn the heart of the father unto the son, and to restore the tribes of Jacob.
In his days the
cistern to receive water, being in compass as the sea, was covered with plates of
brass:
And as the flower of roses in the spring of the year, as
lilies by the rivers of waters, and as the
branches of the
frankincense tree in the time of summer:
The women also with cords about them, sitting in the ways, burn
bran for
perfume: but if any of them, drawn by some that passeth by, lie with him, she reproacheth her fellow, that she was not thought as worthy as herself, nor her cord broken.
Then Daniel
smiled, and said, O king, be not
deceived: for this is but clay within, and
brass without, and did never eat or drink any thing.
And the king said unto Daniel,
Wilt thou also say that this is of
brass? lo, he liveth, he eateth and drinketh; thou canst not say that he is no living god: therefore worship him.
Moreover they divided the beasts among the armies, and for every
elephant they appointed a thousand men, armed with coats of
mail, and with helmets of
brass on their heads; and beside this, for every beast were ordained five hundred
horsemen of the best.
