cultivate delightful plots and set out
cuttings from

sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a

carve out a tomb for
yourself here—to
chisel your tomb in the height and

chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of

cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his
Carmel.

taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many

farthest heights, the densest of its forests.

picked up and removed from me like a
shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life like a
weaver; He
cuts me off from the
loom; from day until night You make an end of me.

cut off or
eliminated from My presence.”

cut, and to the
quarry from which you were

Awake,
awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD;
awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath
cut Rahab, and wounded the
dragon?

awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD.
Wake up as in days past, as in generations of old. Was it not You who
cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced through the
dragon?

cut off out of the land of the living: for the

cut off from the land of the living; He was
stricken for the
transgression of My people.

thorn shall come up the
fir tree, and instead of the
brier shall come up the

cypress will grow, and instead of the
brier, a
myrtle will spring up; they will make a name for the LORD, an
everlasting sign, never to be destroyed.”

everlasting name that will not be
cut off.

slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he

oblation, as if he offered
swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.

frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.

Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

ramp against Jerusalem. This city must be punished; there is nothing but oppression in her midst.

Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a
lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and

forsaken the generation of His wrath.’

cut grain behind the
reaper, with no one to gather it.”
For the customs of the people are vain: for one
cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the
workman, with the
axe.

cut down a tree from the forest; it is shaped with a
chisel by the hands of a
craftsman.
But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
For I was like a gentle lamb led to slaughter; I did not know that they had
plotted against me: “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us
cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be remembered no more.”
Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men

mourned, nor will
anyone cut himself or
shave his head for them.
And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with

cuts windows in it, panels it with
cedar, and paints it with
vermilion.
Dedan, and Tema, and
Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
Dedan, Tema,
Buz, and all who
cut the corners of their hair;

And I will give the men that have
transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they
cut the
calf in
twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
And those who have
transgressed My covenant and have not fulfilled the terms of the covenant they made before Me, I will treat like the
calf they
cut in two in order to pass between its pieces.
And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he
cut it with the
penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the
hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the
hearth.

Jehoiakim would
cut them off with a
scribe’s knife and throw them into the
firepot, until the entire
scroll had been consumed by the fire.
That there came certain from
Shechem, from
Shiloh, and from Samaria, even
fourscore men, having their beards
shaven, and their clothes rent, and having
cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.
eighty men who had
shaved off their beards,
torn their garments, and
cut themselves came from
Shechem,
Shiloh, and Samaria, carrying grain offerings and
frankincense for the house of the LORD.
Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to
cut off from you man and woman, child and
suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
So now, this is what the LORD God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Why are you doing such great
harm to
yourselves by
cutting off from Judah man and woman, child and infant, leaving
yourselves without a
remnant?
In that ye
provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt,
whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might
cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a
curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
Why are you
provoking Me to anger by the work of your hands by burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you have gone to reside? As a result, you will be
cut off and will become an object of
cursing and reproach among all the nations of the earth.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.
Therefore this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: I will set My face to bring
disaster and to
cut off all Judah.
The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
Egypt will hiss like a
fleeing serpent, for the enemy will advance in force; with axes they will come against her like
woodsmen cutting down trees.
They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
They will
chop down her forest, declares the LORD, dense though it may be, for they are more numerous than locusts; they cannot be counted.
Because of the day that cometh to
spoil all the Philistines, and to
cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will
spoil the Philistines, the
remnant of the country of Caphtor.
For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines, to
cut off from Tyre and
Sidon every remaining ally. Indeed, the LORD is about to destroy the Philistines, the
remnant from the coasts of Caphtor.
There shall be no more praise of Moab: in
Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us
cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be
cut down, O
Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
There is no longer praise for Moab; in
Heshbon they
devise evil against her: ‘Come, let us
cut her off from nationhood.’ You too, O people of
Madmen, will be silenced; the sword will pursue you.

sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the
sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the
oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall
flee every one to his own land.

sower from Babylon, and the one who wields the
sickle at harvest time. In the face of the
oppressor’s sword, each will turn to his own people, each will
flee to his own land.
How is the hammer of the whole earth
cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a
desolation among the nations!

shattered! What a
horror Babylon has become among the nations!

Therefore, her young men will fall in the streets, and all her warriors will be silenced in that day,” declares the LORD.

vengeance; He will pay her what she deserves.
O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy
covetousness.
You who dwell by many waters, rich in treasures, your end has come; the thread of your life is cut.
Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place, to
cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be
desolate for ever.
and say, ‘O LORD, You have promised to
cut off this place so that no one will remain—neither man nor beast. Indeed, it will be
desolate forever.’
He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
In fierce anger He has cut off every horn of Israel and withdrawn His right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.
He hath inclosed my ways with
hewn stone, he hath made my paths
crooked.
He has
barred my ways with
cut stones; He has made my paths
crooked.
They have
cut off my life in the
dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
They dropped me alive into a pit and cast stones upon me.
Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
The waters flowed over my head, and I thought I was going to die.
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with
astonishment:
Then He told me, “Son of man, I am going to
cut off the supply of food in Jerusalem. They will anxiously eat bread rationed by weight, and in
despair they will drink water by measure.
When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
When I shower you with the deadly arrows of famine and destruction that I will send to destroy you, I will
intensify the famine against you and
cut off your supply of food.
In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be
desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made
desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be
cut down, and your works may be abolished.
Wherever you live, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will be
demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and
desecrated, your idols
smashed and
obliterated, your incense altars
cut down, and your works
blotted out.
And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a
proverb, and I will
cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a
proverb; I will
cut him off from among My people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by
trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will
cut off man and beast from it:
“Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting unfaithfully, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of food, to send famine upon it, and to cut off from it both man and beast,
Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
Or if I bring a sword against that land and say, ‘Let a sword pass through it,’ so that I cut off from it both man and beast,
Or if I send a
pestilence into that land, and pour out my
fury upon it in blood, to
cut off from it man and beast:
Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out My wrath upon it through
bloodshed,
cutting off from it both man and beast,
For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four
sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the
noisome beast, and the
pestilence, to
cut off from it man and beast?
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem My four
dire judgments—sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague—in order to
cut off from it both man and beast?
On the day of your birth your cord was not
cut, nor were you washed with water for
cleansing. You were not
rubbed with salt or
wrapped in cloths.
They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
They will bring a
mob against you, who will stone you and
cut you to pieces with their swords.
