And David rose up
early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as
Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the
trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and
shouted for the battle.
So David got up
early in the morning, left the flock with a keeper, loaded up, and set out as
Jesse had
instructed him. He reached the camp as the army was marching out to its position and
shouting the battle cry.
This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will
smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the
earth; that all the
earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand. This day I will strike you down, cut off your head, and give the
carcasses of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the creatures of the
earth. Then the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
And Saul’s servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to you a light thing to be a king’s son in law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?
But when Saul’s servants relayed these words to David, he replied, “Does it seem
trivial in your sight to be the son-in-law of the king? I am a poor man and lightly esteemed.”
If thy father at all miss me, then say, David
earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to
Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
If your father misses me at all, tell him, ‘David
urgently requested my permission to
hurry to
Bethlehem, his hometown, because there is an annual sacrifice for his whole clan.’
But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
and do not ever cut off your loving devotion from my household—not even when the LORD cuts off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth.”
For as long as the son of
Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and
fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.
For as long as the son of
Jesse lives on this
earth, neither you nor your
kingship shall be established. Now send for him and bring him to me, for he must surely die!”
David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and
cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David
stooped with his face to the
earth, and bowed himself.
After that, David got up, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed facedown in reverence
And she arose, and bowed herself on her face to the
earth, and said, Behold, let thine
handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.
She arose, then bowed facedown and said, “Here is your
maidservant, ready to serve and to wash the feet of my lord’s servants.”
Then said
Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me
smite him, I pray thee, with the
spear even to the
earth at once, and I will not
smite him the second time.
Abishai said to David, “
Today God has delivered your enemy into your hand. Now, therefore, please let me thrust the
spear through him into the ground with one stroke. I will not need to strike him twice!”
Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the
earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a
flea, as when one
doth hunt a
partridge in the mountains.
So do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the LORD. For the king of Israel has come out to look for a
flea, like one who hunts a
partridge in the mountains.”
And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
“Do not be afraid,” the king replied. “What do you see?” “I see a god coming up out of the earth,” the woman answered.
Then Saul fell
straightway all along on the
earth, and was
sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
Immediately Saul fell flat on the ground,
terrified by the words of Samuel. And his strength was gone, because he had not eaten anything all that day and night.
But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he
hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the
earth, and sat upon the bed.
Saul refused, saying, “I will not eat.” But his servants joined the woman in
urging him, and he
heeded their voice. He got up from the ground and sat on the bed.
Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master’s servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.
Now then, get up early in the morning, along with your master’s servants who came with you, and go as soon as it is light.”
So David and his men rose up
early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to
Jezreel.
So David and his men got up
early in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to
Jezreel.
And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the
earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great
spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
So he led David down, and there were the
Amalekites spread out over all the land, eating, drinking, and
celebrating the great amount of
plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.
It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and
earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the
earth, and did
obeisance.
On the third day a man with
torn clothes and dust on his head arrived from Saul’s camp. When he came to David, he fell to the ground to pay him
homage.
And
Abner also spake in the
ears of Benjamin: and
Abner went also to speak in the
ears of David in
Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.
Abner also spoke to the Benjamites and went to
Hebron to tell David all that seemed good to Israel and to the whole house of Benjamin.
How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
How much more, when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house and on his own bed, shall I not now require his blood from your hands and remove you from the earth!”
And I was with thee
whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the
earth.
I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make for you a name like the greatest in the land.
Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
How great You are, O Lord GOD! For there is none like You, and there is no God but You, according to everything we have heard with our own ears.
And what one nation in the
earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to
redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
And who is like Your people Israel—the one nation on
earth whom God went out to
redeem as a people for Himself and to make a name for Himself? You performed great and
awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before Your people, whom You redeemed for
Yourself from Egypt.
David therefore
besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the
earth.
David
pleaded with God for the boy. He fasted and went into his house and spent the night lying in
sackcloth on the ground.
And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
The elders of his household stood beside him to help him up from the ground, but he was unwilling and would not eat anything with them.
Then David arose from the
earth, and washed, and
anointed himself, and changed his
apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
Then David got up from the ground, washed and
anointed himself, changed his clothes, and went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they set food before him, and he
ate.
Then the king arose, and
tare his garments, and lay on the
earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.
Then the king stood up,
tore his clothes, and lay down on the ground; and all his servants stood by with their clothes
torn.
And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine
handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that
smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he
slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall
quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the
earth.
Now the whole clan has risen up against your
maidservant and said, ‘Hand over the one who struck down his brother, that we may put him to death for the life of the brother whom he killed. Then we will cut off the heir as well!’ So they would
extinguish my one remaining
ember by not preserving my husband’s name or
posterity on the
earth.”
Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
“Please,” she replied, “may the king
invoke the LORD your God to prevent the
avenger of blood from increasing the
devastation, so that my son may not be destroyed!” “As surely as the LORD lives,” he
vowed, “not a hair of your son’s head will fall to the ground.”
To
fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant
Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the
earth.
Joab your servant has done this to bring about this change of affairs, but my lord has wisdom like the wisdom of the angel of God, to know everything that happens in the land.”
And
Absalom rose up
early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then
Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.
He would get up
early and stand beside the road leading to the city gate. Whenever
anyone had a
grievance to bring before the king for a decision,
Absalom would call out and ask, “What city are you from?” And if he replied, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel,”
And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:
When David came to the summit, where he used to worship God, Hushai the Archite was there to meet him with his
robe torn and dust on his head.
Brought beds, and basons, and
earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and
parched corn, and beans, and lentiles, and
parched pulse,
They brought beds, basins, and
earthen vessels, as well as wheat, barley, flour,
roasted grain, beans, lentils,
And
Absalom met the servants of David. And
Absalom rode upon a
mule, and the
mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the
earth; and the
mule that was under him went away.
Now
Absalom was riding on his
mule when he met the servants of David, and as the
mule went under the thick branches of a large oak,
Absalom’s head was caught fast in the tree. The
mule under him kept going, so that he was suspended in midair.
And
Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the
earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
Then
Ahimaaz called out to the king, “All is well!” And he bowed facedown before the king. He continued, “Blessed be the LORD your God! He has delivered up the men who raised their hands against my lord the king.”
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and
cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his
ears.
In my distress I called upon the LORD; I
cried out to my God. And from His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for help reached His
ears.
Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the
earth, I did stamp them as the
mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.
I ground them as the dust of the
earth; I
crushed and
trampled them like mud in the streets.
And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the
earth by clear
shining after rain.
Then Bath-
sheba bowed with her face to the
earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.
Bathsheba bowed facedown in
homage to the king and said, “May my lord King David live
forever!”
And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and
rejoiced with great joy, so that the
earth rent with the sound of them.
All the people followed him, playing flutes and
rejoicing with such a great joy that the
earth was split by the sound.
And Solomon said, If he will
shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the
earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
And Solomon replied, “If he is a man of character, not a single hair of his will fall to the ground. But if evil is found in him, he will die.”
I go the way of all the
earth: be thou strong therefore, and
shew thyself a man;
“I am about to go the way of all the
earth. So be strong and prove
yourself a man.
And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
So men of all nations came to
listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the
earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
and said: “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below, keeping Your covenant of loving devotion with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
But will God indeed dwell upon the earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.
Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You. Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and they will know that this house I have built is called by Your Name.
For thou
didst separate them from among all the people of the
earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”
That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.
so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God. There is no other!
So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
The whole world sought an
audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom that God had put in his heart.
For it came to pass, when David was in
Edom, and
Joab the captain of the host was gone up to
bury the slain, after he had
smitten every male in
Edom;
Earlier, when David was in
Edom,
Joab the commander of the army had gone to
bury the dead and had struck down every male in
Edom.
And this thing became sin unto the house of
Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the
earth.
And this was the sin of the house of
Jeroboam that led to its
extermination and destruction from the face of the
earth.
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the
cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the
earth.
for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘The
jar of flour will not be exhausted and the
jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD sends rain upon the face of the
earth.’”
And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to
Elijah in the third year, saying, Go,
shew thyself unto
Ahab; and I will send rain upon the
earth.
After a long time, in the third year of the
drought, the word of the LORD came to
Elijah: “Go and present
yourself to
Ahab, and I will send rain upon the face of the
earth.”
So
Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And
Elijah went up to the top of
Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the
earth, and put his face between his knees,
So
Ahab went up to eat and drink. But
Elijah climbed to the summit of
Carmel, bent down on the ground, and put his face between his knees.
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and
brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an
earthquake; but the LORD was not in the
earthquake:
Then the LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD. Behold, the LORD is about to pass by.” And a great and mighty wind
tore into the mountains and
shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an
earthquake, but the LORD was not in the
earthquake.
And after the
earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
After the
earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a still, small voice.
And they rose up
early in the morning, and the sun
shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
When they got up
early in the morning, the sun was
shining on the water, and it looked as red as blood to the Moabites across the way.
And there came a man from
Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty
loaves of barley, and full
ears of corn in the
husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.
Now a man from
Baal-shalishah came to the man of God with a
sack of twenty
loaves of barley bread from the first ripe grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” said
Elisha.
And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.
Then
Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God, stood before him, and declared, “Now I know for sure that there is no God in all the
earth except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.”
And
Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules’ burden of
earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
“If you will not,” said
Naaman, “please let me, your servant, be given as much soil as a pair of mules can carry. For your servant will never again make a burnt offering or a sacrifice to any other god but the LORD.
And when the servant of the man of God was risen
early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and
chariots. And his servant said unto him,
Alas, my master! how shall we do?
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out
early in the morning, an army with horses and
chariots had surrounded the city. So he asked
Elisha, “Oh, my master, what are we to do?”
Know now that there shall fall unto the
earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of
Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant
Elijah.
Know, then, that not a word the LORD has spoken against the house of
Ahab will fail, for the LORD has done what He promised through His servant
Elijah.”
Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto
Rab-shakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the
Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the
ears of the people that are on the wall.
Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, along with Shebnah and Joah, said to the
Rabshakeh, “Please speak to your servants in
Aramaic, since we understand it. Do not speak with us in Hebrew in the hearing of the people on the wall.”
And
Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the
earth: thou hast made heaven and
earth.
And
Hezekiah prayed before the LORD: “O LORD, God of Israel, enthroned between the
cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the
earth. You made the heavens and the
earth.
LORD, bow down thine
ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of
Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, I
beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the
earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.
And now, O LORD our God, please save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God.”
Because thy
rage against me and thy
tumult is come up into mine
ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my
bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
Because your
rage and
arrogance against Me have reached My
ears, I will put My hook in your nose and My
bit in your mouth; I will send you back the way you came.’
And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and
smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred
fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose
early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
And that very night the angel of the LORD went out and struck down 185,000 men in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that
whosoever heareth of it, both his
ears shall
tingle.
this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I am bringing such
calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah that the news will
reverberate in the
ears of all who hear it.
And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.
And he went up to the house of the LORD with all the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as well as the priests and the prophets—all the people small and great—and in their hearing he read all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the LORD.
Cush was the father of
Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one on the
earth.
And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother’s name was Joktan.
Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named Joktan.
And
Phinehas the son of
Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the Lord was with him.
In
earlier times
Phinehas son of
Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers, and the LORD was with him.
He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
He is the LORD our God; His judgments carry throughout the earth.
Sing unto the LORD, all the
earth;
shew forth from day to day his salvation.
Sing to the LORD, all the
earth.
Proclaim His salvation day after day.
Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
tremble before Him, all the
earth. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
Let the heavens be
glad, and let the
earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.
Let the heavens be
glad, and the
earth rejoice. Let them say among the nations, ‘The LORD reigns!’
Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth.
And I have been with thee
whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the
earth.
I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make for you a name like the greatest in the land.
O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
O LORD, there is none like You, and there is no God but You, according to everything we have heard with our own ears.
And what one nation in the
earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to
redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
And who is like Your people Israel—the one nation on
earth whom God went out to
redeem as a people for Himself? You made a name for
Yourself through great and
awesome wonders by driving out nations from before Your people, whom You redeemed from Egypt.
And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the
earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in
sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
When David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD standing between heaven and
earth, with a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem, David and the elders, clothed in
sackcloth, fell facedown.
But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
but this word of the LORD came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and
waged great wars. You are not to build a house for My Name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before Me.
Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the
earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art
exalted as head above all.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the
splendor and the majesty, for everything in heaven and on
earth belongs to You. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom, and You are
exalted as head over all.
For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the
earth are as a shadow, and there is none
abiding.
For we are foreigners and strangers in Your presence, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.
Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
Now, O LORD God, let Your promise to my father David be fulfilled. For You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.
Huram said moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and
earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son,
endued with
prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.
And
Hiram added: “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who made the heavens and the
earth! He has given King David a wise son with insight and understanding, who will build a temple for the LORD and a royal palace for himself.
And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
and said: “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven or on earth, keeping Your covenant of loving devotion with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
But will God indeed dwell with man upon the earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the
earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as
doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You. Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and they will know that this house I have built is called by Your Name.
Now, my God, let, I
beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine
ears be
