And there was war in heaven: Michael and
his angels fought against the
dragon; and the
dragon fought and
his angels,
Then a war broke out in heaven: Michael and
his angels fought against the
dragon, and the
dragon and
his angels fought back.
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
But the
dragon was not strong enough, and no longer was any place found in heaven for him and
his angels.
And the great
dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and
his angels were cast out with him.
And the great
dragon was
hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil and
Satan, the
deceiver of the whole world. He was
hurled to the earth, and
his angels with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of
his Christ: for the
accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of
His Christ. For the
accuser of our brothers has been thrown down— he who accuses them day and night before our God.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
Then from the mouth of the serpent
spewed water like a river to overtake the woman and
sweep her away in the
torrent.
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and
swallowed up the flood which the
dragon cast out of
his mouth.
But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth to
swallow up the river that had poured from the
dragon’s mouth.
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon
his horns ten crowns, and upon
his heads the name of
blasphemy.
Then I saw a beast with ten horns and seven heads rising out of the sea. There were ten royal crowns on its horns and
blasphemous names on its heads.
And the beast which I saw was like unto a
leopard, and
his feet were as the feet of a bear, and
his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the
dragon gave him
his power, and
his seat, and great authority.
The beast I saw was like a
leopard, with the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. And the
dragon gave the beast
his power and
his throne and great authority.
And I saw one of
his heads as it were wounded to death; and
his deadly wound was
healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
One of the heads of the beast appeared to be
mortally wounded. But the
mortal wound was
healed, and the whole world
marveled and followed the beast.
And he opened
his mouth in
blasphemy against God, to
blaspheme his name, and
his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
And the beast opened its mouth to speak blasphemies against God and to
slander His name and
His tabernacle—those who dwell in heaven.
And that no man might
buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of
his name.
so that no one could
buy or sell unless he had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and
his number is Six hundred
threescore and six.
Here is a call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight
calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount
Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having
his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
Then I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount
Zion, and with Him 144,000 who had
His name and
His Father’s name written on their foreheads.
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
And he said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the One who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and the springs of waters.”
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and
his image, and receive
his mark in
his forehead, or in
his hand,
And a third angel followed them, calling out in a loud voice, “If
anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on
his forehead or on
his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of
his indignation; and he shall be
tormented with fire and
brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
he too will drink the wine of God’s anger, poured undiluted into the cup of
His wrath. And he will be
tormented in fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.
And the smoke of their
torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and
his image, and
whosoever receiveth the mark of
his name.
And the smoke of their
torment rises
forever and ever. Day and night there is no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for
anyone who receives the mark of its name.”
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on
his head a golden crown, and in
his hand a sharp
sickle.
And I looked and saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was One like the Son of Man, with a golden crown on
His head and a sharp
sickle in
His hand.
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in
his sickle on the earth; and the earth was
reaped.
So the One seated on the cloud
swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
And the angel thrust in
his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
So the angel
swung his sickle over the earth and gathered the grapes of the earth, and he threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath.
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had
gotten the victory over the beast, and over
his image, and over
his mark, and over the number of
his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
And I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, beside which stood those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name. They were holding harps from God,
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
And the first went, and poured out
his vial upon the earth; and there fell a
noisome and
grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped
his image.
So the first angel went and poured out
his bowl on the earth, and
loathsome,
malignant sores broke out on those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
And the second angel poured out
his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
And the second angel poured out
his bowl into the sea, and it turned to blood like that of the dead, and every living thing in the sea died.
And the third angel poured out
his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
And the third angel poured out
his bowl into the rivers and springs of water, and they turned to blood.
And the fourth angel poured out
his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to
scorch men with fire.
Then the fourth angel poured out
his bowl on the sun, and it was given power to
scorch the people with fire.
And the fifth angel poured out
his vial upon the seat of the beast; and
his kingdom was full of darkness; and they
gnawed their tongues for pain,
And the fifth angel poured out
his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was
plunged into darkness, and men began to
gnaw their tongues in
anguish And the sixth angel poured out
his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
And the sixth angel poured out
his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East.
Behold, I come as a
thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth
his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see
his shame.
“Behold, I am coming like a
thief. Blessed is the one who remains
awake and clothed, so that he will not go naked and let
his shame be exposed.”
And the seventh angel poured out
his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Then the seventh angel poured out
his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came from the throne in the temple, saying, “It is done!”
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in
remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of
his wrath.
The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations
collapsed. And God remembered Babylon the great and gave her the cup of the wine of the
fury of
His wrath.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
They will make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will triumph over them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and He will be accompanied by His called and chosen and faithful ones.”
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
For God has put it into their hearts to carry out His purpose by uniting to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was
lightened with
his glory.
After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was
illuminated by
his glory.
Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath
avenged you on her.
Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced for you
His judgment against her.
For true and righteous are
his judgments: for he hath judged the great
whore, which did corrupt the earth with her
fornication, and hath
avenged the blood of
his servants at her hand.
For
His judgments are true and just. He has judged the great
prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has
avenged the blood of
His servants that was poured out by her hand.”
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you who serve Him, and those who fear Him, small and great alike!”
Let us be
glad and
rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and
his wife hath made herself ready.
Let us
rejoice and be
glad and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and
His bride has made herself ready.
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
So I fell at
his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who
rely on the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
He has eyes like
blazing fire, and many royal crowns on
His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows.
And he was clothed with a
vesture dipped in blood: and
his name is called The Word of God.
He is dressed in a
robe dipped in blood, and
His name is The Word of God.
And out of
his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should
smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God.
And from
His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron
scepter. He treads the winepress of the
fury of the wrath of God the
Almighty.
And he hath on
his vesture and on
his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
And He has a name written on
His robe and on
His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies assembled to
wage war against the One seated on the horse, and against
His army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he
deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped
his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with
brimstone.
But the beast was captured along with the false prophet, who on its behalf had performed signs
deceiving those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Both the beast and the false prophet were thrown alive into the
fiery lake of burning sulfur.
And the
remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of
his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
And the rest were killed with the sword that proceeded from the mouth of the One seated on the horse. And all the birds
gorged themselves on their flesh.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the
Abyss, holding in
his hand a great chain.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither
his image, neither had received
his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Then I saw the thrones, and those seated on them had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been
beheaded for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image, and had not received its mark on their foreheads or hands. And they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
And when the thousand years are
expired,
Satan shall be loosed out of
his prison,
When the thousand years are complete,
Satan will be released from
his prison,
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Then I saw a great white throne and the One seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and
hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was judged according to his deeds.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
He that overcometh shall
inherit all things; and I will be
his God, and he shall be my son.
The one who overcomes will
inherit all things, and I will be
his God, and he will be My son.
And there shall be no more
curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and
his servants shall serve him:
No longer will there be any
curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be within the city, and
His servants will worship Him.
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.
And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent
his angel to
shew unto
his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Then the angel said to me, “These words are faithful and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel to show His servants what must soon take place.”
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
“Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by its gates.
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
And if
anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away
his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book.
And Josias held the feast of the
passover in Jerusalem unto
his Lord, and offered the
passover the
fourteenth day of the first month;
And said, Ye shall no more bear the ark upon your shoulders: now therefore serve the Lord your God, and minister unto his people Israel, and prepare you after your families and kindreds,
According as David the king of Israel prescribed, and according to the
magnificence of Solomon
his son: and standing in the temple according to the several dignity of the families of you the Levites, who minister in the presence of your brethren the children of Israel,
And Jeconias, and Samaias, and
Nathanael his brother, and Assabias, and Ochiel, and
Joram, captains over thousands, gave to the Levites for the
passover five thousand sheep, and seven hundred
calves.
Moreover the
porters were at every gate; it was not lawful for any to go from
his ordinary service: for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
And the works or Josias were upright before
his Lord with an heart full of
godliness.
As for the things that came to pass in
his time, they were written in former times, concerning those that
sinned, and did wickedly against the Lord above all people and kingdoms, and how they
grieved him exceedingly, so that the words of the Lord rose up against Israel.
Howbeit Josias did not turn back
his chariot from him, but undertook to fight with him, not regarding the words of the prophet Jeremy spoken by the mouth of the Lord:
Then said the king unto his servants, Carry me away out of the battle; for I am very weak. And immediately his servants took him away out of the battle.
Then
gat he up upon
his second
chariot; and being brought back to Jerusalem died, and was buried in
his father’s
sepulchre.
These things are written in the book of the stories of the kings of Judah, and every one of the acts that Josias did, and
his glory, and
his understanding in the law of the Lord, and the things that he had done before, and the things now recited, are reported in the book of the kings of Israel and
Judea.
And the people took Joachaz the son of Josias, and made him king instead of Josias his father, when he was twenty and three years old.
The king of Egypt also made king Joacim
his brother king of
Judea and Jerusalem.
And he bound Joacim and the nobles: but Zaraces
his brother he
apprehended, and brought him out of Egypt.
Nabuchodonosor also took of the holy vessels of the Lord, and carried them away, and set them in his own temple at Babylon.
But those things that are recorded of him, and of his uncleaness and impiety, are written in the chronicles of the kings.
And Joacim
his son reigned in
his stead: he was made king being eighteen years old;
And after that king Nabuchodonosor had made him to
swear by the name of the Lord, he
forswore himself, and rebelled; and
hardening his neck,
his heart, he
transgressed the laws of the Lord God of Israel.
Nevertheless the God of their fathers sent by
his messenger to call them back, because he
spared them and
his tabernacle also.
But they had
his messengers in
derision; and, look, when the Lord spake unto them, they made a
sport of
his prophets:
So far forth, that he, being
wroth with
his people for their great
ungodliness, commanded the kings of the Chaldees to come up against them;
Who became servants to him and his children, till the Persians reigned, to fulfil the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremy:
The Lord raised up the spirit of Cyrus the king of the Persians, and he made
proclamation through all
his kingdom, and also by writing,
If therefore there be any of you that are of
his people, let the Lord, even
his Lord, be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem that is in
Judea, and build the house of the Lord of Israel: for he is the Lord that dwelleth in Jerusalem.
Whosoever then dwell in the places about, let them help him, those, I say, that are
his neighbours, with gold, and with silver,
King Cyrus also brought forth the holy vessels, which Nabuchodonosor had carried away from Jerusalem, and had set up in his temple of idols.
Now when Cyrus king of the Persians had brought them forth, he delivered them to Mithridates
his treasurer:
Then king Artexerxes
his letters being read, Rathumus, and Semellius the
scribe, and the rest that were in commission with them, removing in
haste toward Jerusalem with a
troop of
horsemen and a multitude of people in battle
array, began to hinder the builders; and the building of the temple in Jerusalem ceased until the second year of the reign of
Darius king of the Persians.
Now when
Darius reigned, he made a great feast unto all
his subjects, and unto all
his household, and unto all the princes of Media and Persia,
As, to be clothed in purple, to drink in gold, and to sleep upon gold, and a
chariot with bridles of gold, and an
headtire of fine linen, and a chain about
his neck:
And he shall sit next to
Darius because of
his wisdom, and shall be called
Darius his cousin.
And then every one wrote
his sentence, sealed it, and laid it under king
Darius his pillow;
And said that, when the king is risen, some will give him the writings; and of whose side the king and the three princes of Persia shall judge that his sentence is the wisest, to him shall the victory be given, as was appointed.
O ye men, is not wine the strongest, that enforceth to do thus? And when he had so spoken, he held his peace.
So all
his people and
his armies obey him:
furthermore he lieth down, he eateth and drinketh, and taketh
his rest:
And these keep watch round about him, neither may any one depart, and do his own business, neither disobey they him in any thing.
O ye men, how should not the king be mightiest, when in such sort he is obeyed? And he held his tongue.
A man leaveth his own father that brought him up, and his own country, and cleaveth unto his wife.
He sticketh not to
spend his life with
his wife. and remembereth neither father, nor mother, nor country.
Yea, a man taketh
his sword, and goeth
his way to
rob and to
steal, to sail upon the sea and upon rivers;
