Judah is a
lion’s
whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he
stooped down, he
couched as a
lion, and as an old
lion; who shall
rouse him up?
Judah is a young
lion— my son, you return from the prey. Like a
lion he crouches and lies down; like a
lioness, who
dares to
rouse him?
Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
Behold, the people rise like a
lioness; they
rouse themselves like a
lion, not resting until they
devour their prey and drink the blood of the slain.”
He
couched, he lay down as a
lion, and as a great
lion: who shall
stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and
cursed is he that curseth thee.
And of
Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth
Gad: he dwelleth as a
lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.
Concerning
Gad he said: “Blessed is he who enlarges the
domain of
Gad! He lies down like a
lion and tears off an arm or a head.
Then went
Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young
lion roared against him.
Then
Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother and came to the vineyards of Timnah. Suddenly a young
lion came
roaring at him,
And the Spirit of the LORD came
mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a
kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
and the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon him, and he
tore the
lion apart with his bare hands as one would
tear a young goat. But he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.
And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the
carcase of the
lion: and, behold, there was a
swarm of bees and honey in the
carcase of the
lion.
When
Samson returned later to take her, he left the road to see the
lion’s
carcass, and in it was a
swarm of bees, along with their honey.
And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the
carcase of the
lion.
So he
scooped some honey into his hands and
ate it as he went along. And when he returned to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they
ate it. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey from the
lion’s
carcass.
And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? and what is stronger than a
lion? And he said unto them, If ye had not
plowed with my
heifer, ye had not found out my
riddle.
Before
sunset on the seventh day, the men of the city said to
Samson: “What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a
lion?” So he said to them: “If you had not
plowed with my
heifer, you would not have
solved my
riddle!”
And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:
David replied, “Your servant has been tending his father’s sheep, and whenever a lion or a bear came and carried off a lamb from the flock,
Your servant has killed
lions and bears; this
uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, for he has
defied the armies of the living God.”
David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the
paw of the
lion, and out of the
paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this
Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.
David added, “The LORD, who delivered me from the claws of the
lion and the bear, will deliver me from the hand of this
Philistine.” “Go,” said Saul, “and may the LORD be with you.”
Saul and
Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than
lions.
Saul and
Jonathan, beloved and delightful in life, were not divided in death. They were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than
lions.
And he also that is
valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a
lion, shall utterly
melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are
valiant men.
Then even the most
valiant soldier with the heart of a
lion will
melt with fear, because all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man who has
valiant men with him.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a
valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he
slew two
lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and
slew a
lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
And Benaiah son of Jehoiada was a man of
valor from Kabzeel, a man of many exploits. He struck down two champions of Moab, and on a
snowy day he went down into a pit and killed a
lion.
And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.
and on the panels between the uprights were
lions, oxen, and
cherubim. On the uprights was a
pedestal above, and below the
lions and oxen were
wreaths of
beveled work.
For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.
He engraved
cherubim,
lions, and palm trees on the surfaces of the supports and panels, wherever each had space, with
wreaths all around.
The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.
The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. There were armrests on both sides of the seat, with a lion standing beside each armrest.
And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like this had ever been made for any kingdom.
And when he was gone, a
lion met him by the way, and
slew him: and his
carcase was cast in the way, and the
ass stood by it, the
lion also stood by the
carcase.
As he went on his way, a
lion met him on the road and killed him, and his body was left lying in the road, with the
donkey and the
lion standing beside it.
And, behold, men passed by, and saw the
carcase cast in the way, and the
lion standing by the
carcase: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.
And there were men passing by who saw the body lying in the road with the lion standing beside it, and they went and reported this in the city where the old prophet lived.
And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was
disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the
lion, which hath
torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.
When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the
lion, and it has
mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
and he went and found the body lying in the road, with the
donkey and the
lion standing beside it. The
lion had not eaten the body or
mauled the
donkey.
Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a
lion shall
slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a
lion found him, and
slew him.
Then the prophet said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, as soon as you depart from me a lion will kill you.” And when he left, a lion found him and killed him.
And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent
lions among them, which
slew some of them.
Now when the settlers first lived there, they did not worship the LORD, so He sent lions among them, which killed some of them.
Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent
lions among them, and, behold, they
slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
So they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, “The peoples that you have removed and placed in the cities of Samaria do not know the requirements of the God of the land. Because of this, He has sent lions among them, which are indeed killing them off.”
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a
valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he
slew two
lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and
slew a
lion in a pit in a
snowy day.
And Benaiah son of Jehoiada was a man of
valor from Kabzeel, a man of many exploits. He struck down two champions of Moab, and on a
snowy day he went down into a pit and killed a
lion.
And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and
buckler, whose faces were like the faces of
lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
Some Gadites defected to David at his
stronghold in the desert. They were mighty men of
valor, trained for battle, experts with the shield and
spear, whose faces were like the faces of
lions and who were as swift as gazelles on the mountains:
And there were six steps to the throne, with a
footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two
lions standing by the stays:
The throne had six steps, and a
footstool of gold was attached to it. There were armrests on both sides of the seat, with a
lion standing beside each armrest.
And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.
Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like this had ever been made for any kingdom.
The
roaring of the
lion, and the voice of the fierce
lion, and the teeth of the young
lions, are broken.
The
lion may
roar, and the fierce
lion may
growl, yet the teeth of the young
lions are broken.
The old
lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the
stout lion’s whelps are scattered abroad.
The old
lion perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the
lioness are scattered.
For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce
lion: and again thou shewest
thyself marvellous upon me.
Should I hold my head high, You would
hunt me like a
lion, and again display Your power against me.
The
lion’s whelps have not
trodden it, nor the fierce
lion passed by it.
Can you
hunt the prey for a
lioness or satisfy the hunger of young
lions Lest he
tear my soul like a
lion,
rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
or they will
shred my soul like a
lion and
tear me to pieces with no one to
rescue me.
He lieth in wait secretly as a
lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he
doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
He lies in wait like a
lion in a
thicket; he lurks to seize the
oppressed; he catches the lowly in his net.
Like as a
lion that is
greedy of his prey, and as it were a young
lion lurking in secret places.
They open their jaws against me like
lions that
roar and
maul.
Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
Save me from the mouth of the lion; at the horns of the wild oxen You have answered me!
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Young
lions go lacking and
hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Lord, how long
wilt thou look on?
rescue my soul from their destructions, my
darling from the
lions.
How long, O Lord, will You look on?
Rescue my soul from their ravages, my precious life from these
lions.
My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
My soul is among the
lions; I lie down with
ravenous beasts— with men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
O God,
shatter their teeth in their mouths; O LORD,
tear out the fangs of the
lions.
Thou shalt
tread upon the
lion and adder: the young
lion and the
dragon shalt thou
trample under feet.
The young
lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
The young
lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
The king’s wrath is as the
roaring of a
lion; but his favour is as
dew upon the grass.
A king’s
rage is like the
roar of a
lion, but his favor is like
dew on the grass.
The fear of a king is as the
roaring of a
lion:
whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
The terror of a king is like the
roar of a
lion;
whoever provokes him forfeits his own life.
The
slothful man saith, There is a
lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
The slacker says, “There is a lion outside! I will be slain in the streets!”
The
slothful man saith, There is a
lion in the way; a
lion is in the streets.
The slacker says, “A lion is in the road! A fierce lion roams the public square!”
The wicked
flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a
lion.
The wicked
flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a
lion.
As a
roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
Like a
roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
a lion, mighty among beasts, refusing to retreat before anything;
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
There is hope, however, for
anyone who is among the living; for even a live dog is better than a dead
lion.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
spouse, with me from
Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and
Hermon, from the
lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
bride, come with me from
Lebanon! Descend from the
peak of Amana, from the summits of Senir and
Hermon, from the dens of the
lions, from the mountains of the leopards.
Their
roaring shall be like a
lion, they shall
roar like young
lions:
yea, they shall
roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
Their
roaring is like that of a
lion; they
roar like young
lions. They
growl and seize their prey; they carry it away from
deliverance.
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the
leopard shall lie down with the
kid; and the
calf and the young
lion and the
fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
The wolf will live with the lamb, and the
leopard will lie down with the goat; the
calf and young
lion and
fatling will be together, and a little child will lead them.
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The cow will
graze with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the
lion will eat straw like the ox.
For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon,
lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the
remnant of the land.
The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon— a
lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the
remnant of the land.
And he
cried, A
lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the
watchtower in the
daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and
anguish, from whence come the young and old
lion, the
viper and
fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young
asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
This is the burden against the beasts of the Negev: Through a land of
hardship and distress, of
lioness and
lion, of
viper and flying serpent, they carry their wealth on the backs of
donkeys and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people of no profit to them.
For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the
lion and the young
lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of
shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor
abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount
Zion, and for the hill thereof.
For this is what the LORD has said to me: “Like a
lion roaring or a young
lion over its prey— and though a band of
shepherds is called out against it, it is not
terrified by their
shouting or subdued by their
clamor— so the LORD of Hosts will come down to do battle on Mount
Zion and its heights.
No
lion shall be there, nor any
ravenous beast shall go up
thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
No
lion will be there, and no
vicious beast will go up on it. Such will not be found there, but the redeemed will walk upon it.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a
lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night
wilt thou make an end of me.
I composed myself until the morning. Like a lion He breaks all my bones; from day until night You make an end of me.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the
lion shall eat straw like the
bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not
hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the
lion will eat straw like the ox, but the food of the serpent will be dust. They will neither
harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain,” says the LORD.
The young
lions roared upon him, and
yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
The young
lions have
roared at him; they have
growled with a loud voice. They have laid waste his land; his cities lie in ruins, without inhabitant.
In vain have I
smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath
devoured your prophets, like a destroying
lion.
“I have struck your sons in vain; they accepted no discipline. Your own sword has
devoured your prophets like a
voracious lion.”
The
lion is come up from his
thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land
desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
A
lion has gone up from his
thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his
lair to lay waste your land. Your cities will be reduced to ruins and lie uninhabited.
Wherefore a
lion out of the forest shall
slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall
spoil them, a
leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be
torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
Therefore a
lion from the forest will strike them down, a wolf from the desert will
ravage them. A
leopard will lie in wait near their cities, and
everyone who ventures out will be
torn to pieces. For their
rebellious acts are many, and their unfaithful deeds are numerous.
Mine
heritage is unto me as a
lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I
hated it.
My inheritance has become to Me like a
lion in the forest. She has
roared against Me; therefore I
hate her.
He has left His den like a
lion, for their land has been made a
desolation by the sword of the
oppressor, and because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
Behold, he shall come up like a
lion from the swelling of Jordan against the
habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will
appoint me the time? and who is that
shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, one will come up like a
lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I will
chase Edom from her land. Who is the chosen one I will
appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
Israel is a scattered sheep; the
lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath
devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
Israel is a scattered flock,
chased away by
lions. The first to
devour him was the king of Assyria; the last to
crush his bones was
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.”
Behold, he shall come up like a
lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the
habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will
appoint me the time? and who is that
shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, one will come up like a
lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I will
chase Babylon from her land. Who is the chosen one I will
appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
They shall
roar together like
lions: they shall
yell as
lions’ whelps.
They will
roar together like young
lions; they will
growl like
lion cubs.
He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
He is a bear lying in wait, a
lion hiding in
ambush.
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
The form of their faces was that of a man, and each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, the face of an ox on the left side, and also the face of an eagle.
And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a
cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a
lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
Each of the
cherubim had four faces: the first face was that of a
cherub, the second that of a man, the third that of a
lion, and the fourth that of an eagle.
And say, What is thy mother? A
lioness: she lay down among
lions, she
nourished her whelps among young
lions.
and say: ‘What was your mother? A
lioness among the
lions! She lay down among the young
lions; she reared her cubs.
And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young
lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it
devoured men.
She brought up one of her cubs, and he became a young
lion. After learning to
tear his prey, he
devoured men.
Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
When she saw that she had waited in vain, that her hope was lost, she took another of her cubs and made him a young lion.
And he went up and down among the
lions, he became a young
lion, and learned to catch the prey, and
devoured men.
He
prowled among the
lions, and became a young
lion. After learning to
tear his prey, he
devoured men.
There is a
conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a
roaring lion ravening the prey; they have
devoured souls; they have taken the
treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
The
conspiracy of the princes in her midst is like a
roaring lion tearing its prey. They
devour the people, seize the treasures and precious things, and multiply the widows within her.
Son of man, take up a
lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young
lion of the nations, and thou art as a
whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.
“Son of man, take up a
lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: ‘You are like a
lion among the nations; you are like a
monster in the seas. You
thrash about in your rivers,
churning up the waters with your feet and
muddying the streams.’
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of
Tarshish, with all the young
lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a
spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great
spoil?
Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of
Tarshish with all its villages will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the
plunder? Have you assembled your hordes to carry away
loot, to make off with silver and gold, to take cattle and goods, to seize great
spoil?’
So that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: it was made through all the house round about.
the face of a man was toward the palm tree on one side, and the face of a young lion was toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved all the way around the temple.
All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that
whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of
lions.
All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an
ordinance and
enforce a decree that for thirty days
anyone who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of
lions.
Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
So they approached the king and asked about his royal decree: “Did you not sign a decree that for thirty days any man who petitions any god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of
lions?” The king replied, “According to the law of the Medes and Persians the order stands, and it cannot be
repealed.”
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”
Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in
haste unto the den of
lions.
At the first light of
dawn, the king got up and
hurried to the den of
lions.
And when he came to the den, he
cried with a
lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the
lions?
When he reached the den, he
cried out in a voice of
anguish, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the
lions?”
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the
lions mouths, that they have not
hurt me:
forasmuch as before him
innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no
hurt.
My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the
lions. They have not
hurt me, for I was found innocent in His sight, and I have done no wrong against you, O king.”
And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of
lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the
lions had the
mastery of them, and
brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
At the command of the king, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of
lions—they and their children and wives. And before they had reached the bottom of the den, the
lions overpowered them and
crushed all their bones.
He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
He delivers and rescues; He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for He has
rescued Daniel from the power of the
lions.”
The first was like a
lion, and had eagle’s wings: I
beheld till the wings thereof were
plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
The first beast was like a
lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were
torn off and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and given the mind of a man.
For I will be unto Ephraim as a
lion, and as a young
lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will
tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall
rescue him.
For I am like a
lion to Ephraim and like a young
lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will
tear them to pieces and then go away. I will carry them off where no one can
rescue them.
They shall walk after the LORD: he shall
roar like a
lion: when he shall
roar, then the children shall
tremble from the west.
They will walk after the LORD; He will
roar like a
lion. When He roars, His children will come
trembling from the west.
Therefore I will be unto them as a
lion: as a
leopard by the way will I observe them:
I will meet them as a bear that is
bereaved of her whelps, and will
rend the
caul of their heart, and there will I
devour them like a
lion: the wild beast shall
tear them.
Like a bear
robbed of her cubs I will attack them, and I will
tear open their chests. There I will
devour them like a
lion, like a wild beast would
tear them apart.
