anointed with oil.

farthest outposts, the densest of its forests.

Since he had much
livestock in the foothills and in the plain, he built towers in the desert and
dug many cisterns. And since he was a lover of the soil, he had farmers and vinedressers in the hill country and in the fertile fields.

Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
He moves mountains without their knowledge and overturns them in His anger.
And surely the
mountain falling cometh to
nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
But as a
mountain erodes and crumbles and a rock is
dislodged from its place,
They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

mountain rains, they
huddle against the rocks for want of shelter.

cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.
Selah.
To the LORD I cry
aloud, and He answers me from His holy
mountain.
Selah In the LORD put I my trust: How say ye to my soul,
Flee as a bird to your
mountain?
In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “
Flee like a bird to your
mountain!
LORD, who shall
abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
O LORD, who may
abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy
mountain?
Then the earth
shook and
quaked, and the foundations of the
mountains trembled; they were
shaken because He burned with anger.
LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my
mountain to stand strong: thou
didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
O LORD, You favored me; You made my
mountain stand strong. When You
hid Your face, I was dismayed.
Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain, and to the place where You dwell.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth is transformed and the
mountains are
toppled into the depths of the seas,
Though the waters thereof
roar and be troubled, though the
mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
Selah.
Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the
mountain of his
holiness.

I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are Mine.
Which by his strength setteth fast the
mountains; being
girded with power:
You formed the
mountains by Your power, having
girded Yourself with might.
The hill of God is as the hill of
Bashan; an high hill as the hill of
Bashan.
A
mountain of God is Mount
Bashan; a
mountain of many peaks is Mount
Bashan.
Why
leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in;
yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
Why do you
gaze in
envy, O
mountains of many peaks? This is the
mountain God chose for His dwelling, where the LORD will surely dwell
forever.
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
May the mountains bring peace to the people, and the hills bring righteousness.
There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the
mountains; the fruit thereof shall
shake like
Lebanon: and they of the city shall
flourish like grass of the earth.
May there be an abundance of grain in the land; may it
sway atop the hills. May its fruit trees
flourish like the forests of
Lebanon, and its people like the grass of the field.
Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.
He brought them to His holy land, to the mountain His right hand had acquired.
The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
The mountains were covered by its shade, and the mighty cedars with its branches.
As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
As fire consumes a forest, as a flame sets the
mountains ablaze,
His foundation is in the holy mountains.
He has founded His city on the holy mountains.
Before the
mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from
everlasting to
everlasting, thou art God.
Before the
mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from
everlasting to
everlasting You are God.
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him.
The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
The
mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
Let the floods
clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
Let the rivers
clap their hands, let the
mountains sing together for joy
Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.
Exalt the LORD our God and worship at His holy
mountain, for the LORD our God is holy.
Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
You covered it with the deep like a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
the
mountains rose and the valleys
sank to the place You assigned for them—
He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
He sends forth springs in the valleys; they flow between the mountains.
He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
He waters the mountains from His chambers; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of His works.
The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
The high mountains are for the wild goats, the cliffs a refuge for the rock badgers.
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the
mountains, and they
smolder.
The
mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
the
mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
Ye
mountains, that ye
skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
O
mountains, that you
skipped like rams, O hills, like lambs?
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
As the
mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people, both now and forevermore.
As the
dew of
Hermon, and as the
dew that descended upon the
mountains of
Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for
evermore.
It is like the
dew of
Hermon falling on the
mountains of
Zion. For there the LORD has bestowed the blessing of life forevermore.
Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
Part Your heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the hills.
Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars,
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,
The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
When hay is removed and new growth appears and the grain from the hills is gathered,
The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh
leaping upon the
mountains,
skipping upon the hills.
Listen! My beloved approaches. Look! Here he comes,
leaping across the
mountains, bounding over the hills.
Until the day break, and the shadows
flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a
roe or a young
hart upon the
mountains of Bether.
Before the day breaks and shadows
flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a
gazelle or a young
stag on the
mountains of Bether.
Until the day break, and the shadows
flee away, I will get me to the
mountain of
myrrh, and to the hill of
frankincense.
Before the day breaks and the shadows
flee, I will make my way to the
mountain of
myrrh and to the hill of
frankincense.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
spouse, with me from
Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and
Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the
mountains of the leopards.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
bride, come with me from
Lebanon! Descend from the
peak of Amana, from the summits of Senir and
Hermon, from the dens of the lions, from the
mountains of the leopards.
Make
haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a
roe or to a young
hart upon the
mountains of spices.
Come away, my beloved, and be like a
gazelle or a young
stag on the
mountains of spices.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the
mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the
mountains, and shall be
exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of
Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
against all the tall mountains, against all the high hills,
Therefore is the anger of the LORD
kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath
smitten them: and the hills did
tremble, and their carcases were
torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Therefore the anger of the LORD burns against His people; His hand is raised against them to strike them down. The
mountains quake, and the corpses lay like refuse in the streets.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
They shall not
hurt nor destroy in all my holy
mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
They will neither
harm nor destroy on all My holy
mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the sea is full of water.
Lift ye up a
banner upon the high
mountain,
exalt the voice unto them,
shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
Raise a
banner on a barren
hilltop; call
aloud to them. Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.
The noise of a multitude in the
mountains, like as of a great people; a
tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
Listen, a
tumult on the
mountains, like that of a great multitude!
Listen, an
uproar among the kingdoms, like nations gathered together! The LORD of Hosts is
mobilizing an army for war.
That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my
mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
I will break Assyria in My land; I will
trample him on My
mountain. His yoke will be taken off My people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.”
The nations shall
rush like the
rushing of many waters: but God shall
rebuke them, and they shall
flee far off, and shall be
chased as the
chaff of the
mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the
whirlwind.
The nations
rage like the
rush of many waters. He rebukes them, and they
flee far away, driven before the wind like
chaff on the hills, like tumbleweeds before a
gale.
All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an
ensign on the
mountains; and when he bloweth a
trumpet, hear ye.
All you people of the world and dwellers of the earth, when a
banner is raised on the
mountains, you will see it; when a ram’s horn sounds, you will hear it.
They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey, and to the beasts of the land. The birds will feed on them in summer, and all the wild animals in winter.
For it is a day of trouble, and of
treading down, and of
perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the
mountains.
For the Lord GOD of Hosts has set a day of
tumult and
trampling and confusion in the Valley of Vision— of breaking down the walls and crying to the
mountains.
And in this
mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the
lees, of fat things full of
marrow, of wines on the
lees well refined.
On this
mountain the LORD of Hosts will prepare a
banquet for all the peoples, a feast of aged wine, of choice meat, of finely aged wine.
