And Aaron the priest went up into mount
Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died
there, in the
fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
At the LORD’s command, Aaron the priest
climbed Mount
Hor and died
there on the first day of the fifth month, in the
fortieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt.
And they pitched by Jordan, from Beth-jesimoth even unto
Abel-
shittim in the plains of Moab.
And
there on the plains of Moab they camped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth to
Abel-
shittim.
And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.
You are to take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of
Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of
Canaan with the coasts
thereof:)
“Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land of
Canaan, it will be
allotted to you as an inheritance with these boundaries:
And your border shall turn from the south to the
ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth
thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon:
cross south of the
Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and go south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it will go on to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon,
And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.
Then the border will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, defined by its borders on all sides.”
And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites
there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall
appoint for the
manslayer, that he may
flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.
Six of the cities you give the Levites are to be appointed as cities of refuge, to which a
manslayer may
flee. In addition to these, give the Levites forty-two other cities.
Then ye shall
appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the
slayer may
flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.
These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the
sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may
flee thither.
These six cities will serve as a refuge for the Israelites and for the foreigner or stranger among them, so that
anyone who kills a person
unintentionally may
flee there.
And the congregation shall deliver the
slayer out of the hand of the
revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge,
whither he was fled: and he shall
abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was
anointed with the holy oil.
The assembly is to protect the
manslayer from the hand of the
avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live
there until the death of the high priest, who was
anointed with the holy oil.
So ye shall not
pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be
cleansed of the blood that is shed
therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
Do not
pollute the land where you live, for
bloodshed pollutes the land, and no
atonement can be made for the land on which the blood is shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
Defile not
therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.
Do not
defile the land where you live and where I dwell. For I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.”
(
There are eleven days’ journey from
Horeb by the way of mount
Seir unto Kadesh-barnea.)
It is an eleven-day journey from
Horeb to Kadesh-barnea by way of Mount
Seir.
Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the
Amorites, and unto all the places
nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the
vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the
Canaanites, and unto
Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
Resume your journey and go to the hill country of the
Amorites; go to all the
neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the hill country, in the foothills, in the Negev, and along the
seacoast to the land of the
Canaanites and to
Lebanon, as far as the great River Euphrates.
Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims
there.
Where can we go? Our brothers have made our hearts
melt, saying: ‘The people are larger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the heavens. We even saw the descendants of the
Anakim there.’”
Surely
there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I
sware to give unto your fathers,
“Not one of the men of this evil generation shall see the good land I
swore to give your fathers,
So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.
For this reason you stayed in Kadesh for a long time—a very long time.
And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of
Esau, which dwell in
Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good
heed unto
yourselves therefore:
and command the people: ‘You will pass through the territory of your brothers, the descendants of
Esau, who live in
Seir. They will be afraid of you, so you must be very careful.
The
Emims dwelt
therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;
(The Emites used to live there, a people great and many, as tall as the Anakites.
(That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt
therein in old time; and the
Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
(That too was regarded as the land of the
Rephaim, who used to live
there, though the
Ammonites called them Zamzummites.
From Aroer, which is by the
brink of the river of
Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto
Gilead,
there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us:
From Aroer on the
rim of the
Arnon Valley, along with the city in the valley, even as far as
Gilead, not one city had walls too high for us. The LORD our God gave us all of them.
And we took all his cities at that time,
there was not a city which we took not from them,
threescore cities, all the region of
Argob, the kingdom of
Og in
Bashan.
At that time we captured all sixty of his cities.
There was not a single city we failed to take—the entire region of
Argob, the kingdom of
Og in
Bashan.
All these cities were
fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.
All these cities were fortified with high walls and gates and bars, and there were many more unwalled villages.
For only
Og king of
Bashan remained of the
remnant of giants; behold, his
bedstead was a
bedstead of iron; is it not in
Rabbath of the children of
Ammon? nine cubits was the length
thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the
cubit of a man.
(For only
Og king of
Bashan had remained of the
remnant of the
Rephaim. His bed of iron, nine cubits long and four cubits wide, is still in Rabbah of the
Ammonites.)
And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river
Arnon, and half mount
Gilead, and the cities
thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
So at that time we took possession of this land. To the Reubenites and Gadites I gave the land beyond Aroer along the
Arnon Valley, and half the hill country of
Gilead, along with its cities.
The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast
thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdoth-
pisgah eastward.
The Jordan River in the Arabah bordered it from Chinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) with the slopes of
Pisgah to the east.
O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to
shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is
there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
“O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform such works and mighty acts as Yours?
Now
therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
Hear now, O Israel, the statutes and ordinances I am teaching you to follow, so that you may live and may enter and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding in the sight of the peoples, who will hear of all these statutes and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”
For what nation is
there so great, who hath God so
nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
For what nation is great enough to have a god as near to them as the LORD our God is to us whenever we call on Him?
And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
And what nation is great enough to have righteous statutes and ordinances like this entire law I set before you
today?
And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no
similitude; only ye heard a voice.
And the LORD spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; there was only a voice.
Take ye
therefore good
heed unto
yourselves; for ye saw no manner of
similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in
Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
So since you saw no form of any kind on the day the LORD spoke to you out of the fire at
Horeb, be careful
And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
And there you will serve man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
But if from there you will seek the LORD your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
Indeed, ask now from one end of the heavens to the other about the days that long preceded you, from the day that God created man on earth: Has anything as great as this ever happened or been reported?
Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
You were shown these things so that you would know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides Him.
And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;
Because He loved your fathers, He chose their descendants after them and brought you out of Egypt by His presence and great power,
Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
Know therefore this day and take to heart that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
Thou shalt keep
therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest
prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.
Keep His statutes and commandments, which I am giving you
today, so that you and your children after you may
prosper, and that you may live long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you for all time.
And remember that thou
wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm:
therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Now
therefore why should we die? for this great fire will
consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
But now, why should we die? For this great fire will
consume us, and we will die, if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any longer.
For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
For who of all flesh has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the fire, as we have, and survived?
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
If only they had such a heart to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it might be well with them and with their children
forever.
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
So be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or to the left.
Hear
therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase
mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may
prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he
sware unto our fathers.
But He brought us out from
there to lead us in and give us the land that He had
sworn to our fathers.
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His covenant of loving devotion for a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
So keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances that I am giving you to follow this day.
Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
You will be blessed above all peoples; among you
there will be no barren man or woman or
livestock.
And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.
He will hand their kings over to you, and you will
wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand against you; you will
annihilate them.
The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be
snared therein: for it is an
abomination to the LORD thy God.
You must burn up the images of their gods; do not
covet the silver and gold that is on them or take it for
yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it; for it is
detestable to the LORD your God.
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, walking in His ways and fearing Him.
Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses in which to dwell,
Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were
fiery serpents, and scorpions, and
drought, where
there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
He led you through the vast and
terrifying wilderness with its
venomous snakes and scorpions, a
thirsty and waterless land. He brought you water from the rock of flint.
Understand
therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a
consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
But understand that
today the LORD your God goes across
ahead of you as a
consuming fire; He will destroy them and
subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and
annihilate them swiftly, as the LORD has promised you.
Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.
Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.
And I took your sin, the
calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust
thereof into the
brook that descended out of the mount.
And I took that sinful thing, the
calf you had made, and burned it in the fire. Then I
crushed it and ground it to powder as fine as dust, and I cast it into the stream that came down from the mountain.
I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And I prayed to the LORD and said, “O Lord GOD, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, whom You redeemed through Your greatness and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera:
there Aaron died, and
there he was buried; and
Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his
stead.
The Israelites traveled from Beeroth
Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried, and
Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.
From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.
From there they traveled to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water.
Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
Behold, to the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, and the earth and everything in it.
Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
So you also must love the foreigner, since you
yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments,
alway.
You shall therefore love the LORD your God and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land,
whither ye go to possess it;
You shall
therefore keep every commandment I am giving you
today, so that you may have the strength to go in and possess the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
And then the LORD’S wrath be
kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that
there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
or the anger of the LORD will be
kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that
there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as
frontlets between your eyes.
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds;
tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the
dread of you upon all the land that ye shall
tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
No man will be able to stand against you; the LORD your God will put the fear and
dread of you upon all the land, wherever you set foot, as He has promised you.
For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you. When you take possession of it and settle in it,
But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name
there, even unto his
habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
Instead, you must seek the place the LORD your God will choose from among all your tribes to establish as a dwelling for His Name, and there you must go.
And
there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall
rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your households shall eat and
rejoice in all you do, because the LORD your God has blessed you.
Then
there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell
there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your
tithes, and the
heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye
vow unto the LORD:
then the LORD your God will choose a dwelling for His Name. And
there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and special gifts, and all the choice offerings you
vow to the LORD.
But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
you must offer them only in the place the LORD will choose in one of your
tribal territories, and
there you shall do all that I command you.
Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates,
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat
thereof, as of the
roebuck, and as of the
hart.
But whenever you want, you may slaughter and eat meat within any of your gates, according to the blessing the LORD your God has given you. Both the
ceremonially clean and unclean may eat it as they would a
gazelle or deer,
If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name
there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy
herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
If the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His Name is too far from you, then you may slaughter any of the
herd or flock He has given you, as I have commanded you, and you may eat it within your gates whenever you want.
What thing
soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add
thereto, nor diminish from it.
See that you do everything I command you; do not add to it or
subtract from it.
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
If a prophet or dreamer of dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you,
If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
If, regarding one of the cities the LORD your God is giving you to inhabit, you hear it said
Thou shalt surely
smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is
therein, and the cattle
thereof, with the edge of the sword.
you must surely put the inhabitants of that city to the sword.
Devote to destruction all its people and
livestock.
And thou shalt gather all the
spoil of it into the midst of the street
thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the
spoil thereof every
whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an
heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
And you are to gather all its
plunder in the middle of the public square, and completely burn the city and all its
plunder as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God. The city must remain a
mound of ruins
forever, never to be rebuilt.
And
there shall
cleave nought of the
cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and
shew thee mercy, and have
compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath
sworn unto thy fathers;
Nothing devoted to destruction shall
cling to your hands, so that the LORD will turn from His fierce anger, grant you mercy, show you
compassion, and multiply you as He
swore to your fathers,
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that
chew the
cud, or of them that divide the
cloven hoof; as the
camel, and the
hare, and the
coney: for they
chew the
cud, but divide not the
hoof;
therefore they are unclean unto you.
But of those that
chew the
cud or have a completely divided
hoof, you are not to eat the following: the
camel, the
rabbit, or the rock
badger.
And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name
there, the
tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
And you are to eat a tenth of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the
firstborn of your herds and flocks, in the presence of the LORD your God at the place He will choose as a dwelling for His Name, so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
But if the distance is too great for you to carry that with which the LORD your God has blessed you, because the place where the LORD your God will choose to put His Name is too far away,
And thou shalt
bestow that money for
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for
whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat
there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt
rejoice, thou, and thine household,
Then you may
spend the money on anything you desire: cattle, sheep, wine, strong drink, or anything you wish. You are to feast
there in the presence of the LORD your God and
rejoice with your household.
Save when
there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly
bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:
There will be no poor among you, however, because the LORD will surely
bless you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance,
If
there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not
harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
If
there is a poor man among your brothers within any of the gates in the land that the LORD your God is giving you, then you are not to
harden your heart or shut your hand from your poor brother.
Beware that
there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him
nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
Be careful not to
harbor this wicked thought in your heart: “The seventh year, the year of release, is near,” so that you look upon your poor brother begrudgingly and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
For the poor shall never cease out of the land:
therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy
needy, in thy land.
For
there will never cease to be poor in the land; that is why I am commanding you to open wide your hand to your brother and to the poor and
needy in your land.
And thou shalt remember that thou
wast a
bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee:
therefore I command thee this thing to day.
Remember that you were slaves in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you; that is why I am giving you this command
today.
And if
there be any
blemish therein, as if it be
lame, or blind, or have any ill
blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God.
But if an animal has a defect, is
lame or blind, or has any serious
flaw, you must not sacrifice it to the LORD your God.
Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
But you must not eat the blood; pour it on the ground like water.
Thou shalt
therefore sacrifice the
passover unto the LORD thy God, of the flock and the
herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name
there.
You are to offer to the LORD your God the
Passover sacrifice from the
herd or flock in the place the LORD will choose as a dwelling for His Name.
Thou shalt eat no
leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat
unleavened bread
therewith, even the bread of
affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in
haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.
You must not eat
leavened bread with it; for seven days you are to eat with it
unleavened bread, the bread of
affliction, because you left the land of Egypt in
haste—so that you may remember for the rest of your life the day you left the land of Egypt.
And
there shall be no
leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall
there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.
No
leaven is to be found in all your land for seven days, and none of the meat you sacrifice in the evening of the first day shall remain until morning.
But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in,
there thou shalt sacrifice the
passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
You must only offer the
Passover sacrifice at the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name. Do this in the evening as the sun sets, at the same time you departed from Egypt.
Six days thou shalt eat
unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work
therein.
For six days you must eat
unleavened bread, and on the seventh day you shall hold a solemn assembly to the LORD your God, and you must not do any work.
And thou shalt
rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the
Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name
there.
and you shall
rejoice before the LORD your God in the place He will choose as a dwelling for His Name—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the
Levite within your gates, as well as the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widows among you.
