shimmering gold.”

bless him all day long.

gold, and the peculiar
treasure of kings and of the provinces: I
gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.

gold and the
treasure of kings and provinces. I gathered to myself male and female singers, and the delights of the sons of men—many concubines.
Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the
golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the
cistern.
Remember Him before the silver cord is
snapped and the
golden bowl is
crushed, before the pitcher is
shattered at the spring and the wheel is broken at the well,

gold,

gold, his locks are
bushy, and black as a
raven.

gold; his hair is
wavy and black as a
raven.

gold rings set with the
beryl: his
belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
His arms are rods of
gold set with
beryl. His body is an ivory
panel bedecked with sapphires.

gold: his countenance is as
Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their
chariots:

gold, with no limit to their treasures; their land is full of horses, with no limit to their
chariots.
In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

gold; even a man than the

gold, and mankind rarer than the

Ophir.

stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for
gold, they shall not delight in it.

stir up against them the Medes, who have no regard for silver and no desire for

That thou shalt take up this
proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the
oppressor ceased! the
golden city ceased!
you will sing this song of contempt against the king of Babylon: How the
oppressor has ceased, and how his
fury has ended!
Ye shall
defile also the covering of thy
graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy
molten images of
gold: thou shalt cast them away as a
menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
So you will
desecrate your silver-plated idols and your
gold-plated images. You will throw them away like
menstrual cloths, saying to them, “Be gone!”
For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

reject the idols of silver and
gold that your own hands have
sinfully made.
And
Hezekiah was
glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the
gold, and the spices, and the precious
ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that
Hezekiah shewed them not.
And
Hezekiah welcomed the envoys
gladly and showed them what was in his
treasure house—the silver, the
gold, the spices, and the precious oil, as well as his entire
armory—all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his palace or in all his dominion that
Hezekiah did not show them.

idol that a
craftsman casts and a metalworker overlays with
gold and fits with silver chains?

carpenter encouraged the
goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that
smote the
anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with
nails, that it should not be moved.

gold and

dromedaries of
Midian and
Ephah; all they from

gold and incense; and they shall
shew forth the praises of the LORD.
Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of
Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their
gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath
glorified thee.
Surely the islands will wait for Me, with the ships of
Tarshish in the lead, to bring your children from
afar, with their silver and
gold, to the honor of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for He has
glorified you.
For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
Instead of bronze I will bring you
gold; I will bring silver in place of iron, bronze instead of wood, and iron instead of stones. I will
appoint peace as your governor and righteousness as your ruler.
And when thou art
spoiled, what
wilt thou do? Though thou clothest
thyself with
crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of
gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make
thyself fair; thy lovers will
despise thee, they will seek thy life.
They deck it with silver and with
gold; they
fasten it with
nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Silver spread into plates is brought from
Tarshish, and
gold from Uphaz, the work of the
workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of
cunning men.
Hammered silver is brought from
Tarshish, and
gold from Uphaz— the work of a
craftsman from the hands of a
goldsmith. Their clothes are blue and purple, all fashioned by skilled workers.
Every man is
brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the
graven image: for his
molten image is
falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Every man is senseless and devoid of knowledge; every
goldsmith is put to shame by his idols. For his
molten images are a
fraud, and there is no breath in them.
Babylon hath been a
golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth
drunken: the nations have
drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are
mad.
Babylon was a
gold cup in the hand of the LORD, making the whole earth
drunk. The nations
drank her wine; therefore the nations have gone
mad.
Every man is
brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the
graven image: for his
molten image is
falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Every man is senseless and devoid of knowledge; every
goldsmith is put to shame by his idols. For his
molten images are a
fraud, and there is no breath in them.
And the basons, and the firepans, and the
bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of
gold in
gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
The captain of the guard also took away the basins, censers,
sprinkling bowls, pots, lampstands, pans, and drink offering
bowls—anything made of pure
gold or fine silver.
How is the
gold become
dim! how is the most fine
gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
How the
gold has become
tarnished, the pure
gold has become dull! The
gems of the temple lie scattered on every street corner.
The precious sons of
Zion, comparable to fine
gold, how are they esteemed as
earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the
potter!
How the precious sons of
Zion, once worth their weight in pure
gold, are now esteemed as jars of clay, the work of a
potter’s hands!
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their
gold shall be removed: their silver and their
gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their
bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
They will throw their silver into the streets, and their
gold will seem unclean. Their silver and
gold cannot save them in the day of the wrath of the LORD. They cannot satisfy their appetites or fill their stomachs with wealth, for it became the
stumbling block that brought their iniquity.
Thus
wast thou decked with
gold and silver; and thy
raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and
broidered work; thou
didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou
wast exceeding beautiful, and thou
didst prosper into a kingdom.
So you were adorned with
gold and silver, and your clothing was made of fine linen, silk, and
embroidered cloth. You
ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be queen.
Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my
gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to
thyself images of men, and
didst commit
whoredom with them,
You also took the fine
jewelry of
gold and silver I had given you, and you made male idols with which to
prostitute yourself.
The merchants of
Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and
gold.
The merchants of
Sheba and Raamah traded with you; for your wares they exchanged
gold, the finest of all spices, and precious stones.
With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast
gotten thee riches, and hast
gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
By your wisdom and understanding you have gained your wealth and
amassed gold and silver for your
treasuries.
Thou hast been in
Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the
sardius,
topaz, and the
diamond, the
beryl, the
onyx, and the
jasper, the
sapphire, the
emerald, and the
carbuncle, and
gold: the
workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou
wast created.
You were in
Eden, the garden of God. Every kind of precious stone adorned you:
ruby,
topaz, and
diamond,
beryl,
onyx, and
jasper,
sapphire,
turquoise, and
emerald. Your mountings and settings were crafted in
gold, prepared on the day of your creation.
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of
Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a
spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and
gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great
spoil?
Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of
Tarshish with all its villages will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the
plunder? Have you assembled your hordes to carry away
loot, to make off with silver and
gold, to take cattle and goods, to seize great
spoil?’
This image’s head was of fine
gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his
belly and his thighs of brass,
The head of the statue was pure
gold, its chest and arms were silver, its
belly and thighs were bronze,
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the
gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the
chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that
smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Then the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and
gold were
shattered and became like
chaff on the
threshing floor in summer. The wind carried them away, and not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that had struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
And
wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of
gold.
Wherever the sons of men or beasts of the field or birds of the air dwell, He has given them into your hand and has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the
gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and
gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is
trustworthy.”
Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of
gold, whose height was
threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of
Dura, in the province of Babylon.
King
Nebuchadnezzar made a
golden statue sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and he set it up on the plain of
Dura in the province of Babylon.
As soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the
golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the
golden image that
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Therefore, as soon as all the people heard the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, and all kinds of music, the people of every nation and language would fall down and worship the
golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the
golden image:
You, O king, have issued a decree that
everyone who hears the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the
golden statue,
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon,
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the
golden image which thou hast set up.
But there are some Jews you have appointed to
manage the province of Babylon—
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego—who have
ignored you, O king, and have refused to serve your gods or worship the
golden statue you have set up.”
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the
golden image which I have set up?
and
Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, is it true that you do not serve my gods or worship the
golden statue I have set up?
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”
Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the
golden and silver vessels which his father
Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
Under the influence of the wine,
Belshazzar gave orders to bring in the
gold and silver vessels that
Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king could drink from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
Then they brought the
golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines,
drank in them.
Thus they brought in the
gold vessels that had been taken from the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king
drank from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
They
drank wine, and praised the gods of
gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
As they
drank the wine, they praised their gods of
gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.
The king
cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon,
Whosoever shall read this writing, and
shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of
gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
The king called out for the enchanters, astrologers, and diviners to be brought in, and he said to these wise men of Babylon, “
Whoever reads this inscription and tells me its interpretation will be clothed in purple and have a
gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”
And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and
dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of
gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
But I have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and
solve difficult problems. Therefore, if you can read this inscription and give me its interpretation, you will be clothed in purple and have a
gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and
gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and
gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
Then commanded
Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of
gold about his neck, and made a
proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
Then
Belshazzar gave the command, and they clothed Daniel in purple, placed a
gold chain around his neck, and proclaimed him the third highest ruler in the kingdom.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were
girded with fine
gold of Uphaz:
I lifted up my eyes, and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine
gold from Uphaz around his
waist.
And shall also carry
captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of
gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
He will take even their gods
captive to Egypt, with their metal images and their precious vessels of silver and
gold. For some years he will stay away from the king of the North,
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
And in their place, he will honor a god of fortresses—a god his fathers did not know—with gold, silver, precious stones, and riches.
But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and over all the riches of Egypt, and the Libyans and Cushites will also submit to him.
For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and
gold, which they prepared for
Baal.
For she does not acknowledge that it was I who gave her grain, new wine, and oil, who
lavished on her silver and
gold— which they crafted for
Baal.
They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My
approval. With their silver and
gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction.
Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
For you took My silver and gold and carried off My finest treasures to your temples.
Take ye the
spoil of silver, take the
spoil of
gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
“
Plunder the silver!
Plunder the
gold!” There is no end to the
treasure, an abundance of every precious thing.
Woe unto him that saith to the wood,
Awake; to the
dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with
gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
Woe to him who says to wood, ‘
Awake!’ or to silent stone, ‘Arise!’ Can it give guidance? Behold, it is overlaid with
gold and silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.”
Neither their silver nor their
gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be
devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a
speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the Day of the LORD’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy.” For indeed, He will make a sudden end of all who dwell on the earth.
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, declares the LORD of Hosts.
And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a
candlestick all of
gold, with a
bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps
thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
“What do you see?” he asked. “I see a solid
gold lampstand,” I replied, “with a
bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven spouts to the lamps.
And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
And I questioned him further, “What are the two olive branches beside the two gold pipes from which the golden oil pours?”
Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
Take silver and
gold, make an
ornate crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak.
And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and
heaped up silver as the dust, and fine
gold as the
mire of the streets.
Tyre has built herself a fortress; she has
heaped up silver like dust, and
gold like the
dirt of the streets.
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together,
gold, and silver, and
apparel, in great abundance.
Judah will also fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—
gold, silver, and
apparel in great abundance.
And he shall sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver: and he shall
purify the sons of Levi, and
purge them as
gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
And He will sit as a refiner and
purifier of silver; He will
purify the sons of Levi and refine them like
gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts;
gold, and
frankincense, and
myrrh.
On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of
gold and
frankincense and
myrrh.
Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Do not carry any gold or silver or copper in your belts.
Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If
anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if
anyone swears by the
gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred?
Then Peter said, Silver and
gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth rise up and walk.
But Peter said, “Silver or
gold I do not have, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, get up and walk!”
