ate it.
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

crouching at your door; it
desires you, but you must master it.”

For I will cast out the nations before thee, and
enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man
desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God
thrice in the year.

covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the LORD your God.

The
graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not
desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be
snared therein: for it is an
abomination to the LORD thy God.

covet the silver and gold that is on them or take it for
yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it; for it is
detestable to the LORD your God.

bestow that money for
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for
whatsoever thy soul
desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt
rejoice, thou, and thine household,

spend the money on anything you
desire: cattle, sheep, wine, strong drink, or anything you wish. You are to feast there in the presence of the LORD your God and
rejoice with your household.

According to all that thou
desiredst of the LORD thy God in

This is what you asked of the LORD your God at
Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire anymore, so that we will not die!”

desireth; then he would answer him,

asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the

As for the
donkeys you lost three days ago, do not
worry about them, for they have been found. And upon whom is all the
desire of Israel, if not upon you and all your father’s house?”

Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an
everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my
desire, although he make it not to grow.
Is not my house right with God? For He has established with me an
everlasting covenant, ordered and secured in every part. Will He not bring about my full salvation and my every
desire?

desire regarding the

desire, in giving food for my household.
My servants will
haul the logs from
Lebanon to the Sea, and I will
float them as rafts by sea to the place you
specify. There I will separate the logs, and you can take them away. And in exchange, you can meet my needs by providing my household with food.”

cedar trees and
fir trees, and with gold, according to all his
desire,) that then king Solomon gave

Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places:
whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.
Even after these events,
Jeroboam did not
repent of his evil ways, but again he appointed priests for the high places from every class of people. He ordained
anyone who
desired to be a priest of the high places.
Then she said, Did I
desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not
deceive me?

O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep this
desire forever in the intentions of the hearts of Your people, and direct their hearts toward You.
And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the

desired to build in Jerusalem,
Lebanon, and throughout the land of his dominion.

desired—whatever she asked—far more than she had brought the king. Then she left and returned to her own country, along with her servants.
And he dealt wisely, and
dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every
fenced city: and he gave them
victual in abundance. And he
desired many wives.

And all Judah
rejoiced at the oath: for they had
sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole
desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
And all Judah
rejoiced over the oath, for they had
sworn it with all their heart. They had sought Him earnestly, and He was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.
Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being
desired.
Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the
sepulchres of the kings.

regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
O Lord, I
beseech thee, let now thine ear be
attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who
desire to fear thy name: and
prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s
cupbearer.
O Lord, may Your ear be
attentive to my prayer and to the prayers of Your servants who delight to
revere Your name. Give Your servant success this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” (At that time I was the
cupbearer to the king.)

maiden unto the king;
whatsoever she
desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house.

harem to the king’s palace.
As a servant earnestly
desireth the shadow, and as an
hireling looketh for the reward of his work:
Like a slave he longs for shade; like a
hireling he waits for his wages.
Surely I would speak to the
Almighty, and I
desire to reason with God.
Yet I
desire to speak to the
Almighty and
argue my case before God.
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou
wilt have a
desire to the work of thine hands.
You will call, and I will answer; You will desire the work of Your hands.
My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
My days have passed; my plans are broken off— even the desires of my heart.
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his
belly, he shall not save of that which he
desired.
Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
Yet they say to God: ‘Leave us alone! For we have no desire to know Your ways.
But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
But He is unchangeable, and who can
oppose Him? He does what He
desires.
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a
maid?
“I have made a covenant with my eyes. How then could I
gaze with
desire at a virgin?
If I have
withheld the poor from their
desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
If I have denied the desires of the poor or allowed the widow’s eyes to fail,
Oh that one would hear me! behold, my
desire is, that the
Almighty would answer me, and that mine
adversary had written a book.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I
desire to
justify thee.
But if you have something to say, answer me; speak up, for I would like to
vindicate you.
My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
If only Job were tried to the utmost for answering like a wicked man.
Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
Do not long for the night, when people
vanish from their homes.
For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s
desire, and blesseth the
covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
For the wicked man boasts in the cravings of his heart; he blesses the
greedy and reviles the LORD.
LORD, thou hast heard the
desire of the humble: thou
wilt prepare their heart, thou
wilt cause thine ear to hear:
You have heard, O LORD, the
desire of the humble; You will
strengthen their hearts. You will
incline Your ear,
More to be
desired are they than gold,
yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the
honeycomb.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the
comb.
Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
Thou hast given him his heart’s
desire, and hast not
withholden the request of his lips.
Selah.
You have granted his heart’s
desire and have not
withheld the request of his lips.
Selah One thing have I
desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to
enquire in his temple.
One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I
desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to
gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Who is the man who delights in life, who desires to see good days?
Delight
thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the
desires of thine heart.
Delight
yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the
desires of your heart.
Lord, all my
desire is before thee; and my
groaning is not
hid from thee.
O Lord, my every
desire is before You; my
groaning is not hidden from You.
Sacrifice and offering thou
didst not
desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but my ears You have opened. Burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not require.
So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
and the king will desire your beauty; bow to him, for he is your lord.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Surely You desire truth in the inmost being; You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
For You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; You take no pleasure in burnt offerings.
For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eyes have stared down my foes.
The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
My God of loving devotion will come to meet me; God will let me
stare down my foes.
Why
leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God
desireth to dwell in;
yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.
Why do you
gaze in
envy, O mountains of many peaks? This is the mountain God chose for His dwelling, where the LORD will surely dwell
forever.
Let them be
ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that
desire my
hurt.
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And on earth I desire no one besides You.
So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;
So they
ate and were well filled, for He gave them what they
craved.
They were not
estranged from their
lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,
Yet before they had filled their desire, with the food still in their mouths,
Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
My eyes see the
downfall of my enemies; my ears hear the
wailing of my wicked foes.
Then are they
glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their
desired haven.
They
rejoiced in the silence, and He guided them to the
harbor they
desired.
His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
His heart is
assured; he does not fear, until he looks in triumph on his foes.
The wicked shall see it, and be
grieved; he shall
gnash with his teeth, and
melt away: the
desire of the wicked shall perish.
The wicked man will see and be
grieved; he will
gnash his teeth and waste away; the
desires of the wicked will perish.
The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my
desire upon them that
hate me.
The LORD is on my side; He is my helper. Therefore I will look in triumph on those who
hate me.
For the LORD has chosen
Zion; He has
desired it for His home:
This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
“This is My resting place
forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have
desired this home.
Grant not, O LORD, the
desires of the wicked: further not his wicked
device; lest they
exalt themselves.
Selah.
Grant not, O LORD, the
desires of the wicked; do not promote their evil plans, lest they be
exalted.
Selah Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
She is more precious than
rubies: and all the things thou canst
desire are not to be compared unto her.
She is more precious than
rubies; nothing you
desire compares with her.
For wisdom is better than
rubies; and all the things that may be
desired are not to be compared to it.
For wisdom is more precious than
rubies, and nothing you
desire compares with her.
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
What the wicked man dreads will overtake him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own
naughtiness.
The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the faithless are
trapped by their own
desires.
The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
The desire of the righteous leads only to good, but the hope of the wicked brings wrath.
The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the desire of the faithless is violence.
The soul of the
sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the
diligent shall be made fat.
The slacker craves yet has nothing, but the soul of the
diligent is fully satisfied.
Hope
deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the
desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Hope
deferred makes the heart sick, but
desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
The
desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is
abomination to fools to depart from evil.
Desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but turning from evil is
detestable to fools.
Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
He who isolates himself pursues
selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment.
The
desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a
liar.
The
desire of a man is loving devotion; better to be poor than a
liar.
The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
The soul of the wicked man craves evil; his
neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.
