And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of
slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into
fenced cities.
So Joshua and the Israelites continued to
inflict a terrible slaughter until they had
finished them off, and the remaining survivors retreated to the fortified cities.
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:
Finally Joshua and all Israel with him turned toward Debir and fought against it.
When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of
Nun among them:
When they had
finished distributing the land into its territories, the Israelites gave Joshua son of
Nun an inheritance among them,
These are the inheritances which
Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of
Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in
Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
These are the inheritances that
Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of
Nun, and the heads of the families distributed by lot to the tribes of Israel at
Shiloh before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. So they
finished dividing up the land.
And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would
hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.
These nations were left to test the Israelites, to find out whether they would keep the commandments of the LORD, which He had given their fathers through Moses.
And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.
After Ehud had
finished presenting the tribute, he
ushered out those who had carried it.
Then said all the trees unto the
bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.
Finally all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘Come and reign over us.’
And the
bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye
anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the
bramble, and
devour the cedars of
Lebanon.
But the thornbush replied, ‘If you really are
anointing me as king over you, come and
find refuge in my shade. But if not, may fire come out of the thornbush and
consume the cedars of
Lebanon.’
And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.
And in the morning at
sunrise, get up and advance against the city. When Gaal and his men come out against you, do to them whatever you are able.”
Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the
uncircumcised Philistines? And
Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
But his father and mother replied, “Can’t you
find a young woman among your relatives or among any of our people? Must you go to the
uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?” But
Samson told his father, “Get her for me, for she is pleasing to my eyes.”
And
Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a
riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and
find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
“Let me tell you a
riddle,”
Samson said to them. “If you can
solve it for me within the seven days of the feast, I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty sets of clothes.
And she
wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay
sore upon him: and she told the
riddle to the children of her people.
She
wept the whole seven days of the feast, and
finally on the seventh day, because she had pressed him so much, he told her the answer. And in turn she explained the
riddle to her people.
And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the
jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramath-lehi.
And when
Samson had
finished speaking, he cast the
jawbone from his hand; and he named that place Ramath-lehi.
And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her,
Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to
afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
The lords of the Philistines went to her and said, “
Entice him and
find out the source of his great strength and how we can overpower him to
tie him up and
subdue him. Then each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver.”
And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was
vexed unto death;
Finally, after she had pressed him daily with her words and
pleaded until he was sick to death,
And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to
sojourn where he could
find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of
Micah, as he journeyed.
This man left the city of
Bethlehem in Judah to settle where he could
find a place. And as he traveled, he came to
Micah’s house in the hill country of Ephraim.
And
Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a
Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to
sojourn where I may
find a place.
“Where are you from?”
Micah asked him. “I am a
Levite from
Bethlehem in Judah,” he replied, “and I am on my way to settle wherever I can
find a place.”
And they came unto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol: and their brethren said unto them, What say ye?
When the men returned to Zorah and Eshtaol, their brothers asked them, “What did you find?”
The LORD grant you that ye may
find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she
kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and
wept.
May the LORD enable each of you to
find rest in the home of your new husband.” And she
kissed them as they
wept aloud And
Ruth the
Moabitess said unto
Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and
glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall
find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
And
Ruth the
Moabitess said to
Naomi, “Please let me go into the fields and
glean heads of grain after someone in whose sight I may
find favor.” “Go
ahead, my daughter,”
Naomi replied.
Then she said, Let me
find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine
handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
“My lord,” she said, “may I continue to
find favor in your eyes, for you have comforted and spoken kindly to your
maidservant, though I am not like one of your servant girls.”
And
Ruth the
Moabitess said, He said unto me also, Thou shalt keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
Then
Ruth the
Moabitess said, “He also told me, ‘Stay with my young men until they have
finished gathering all my harvest.’”
So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to
glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
So
Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of Boaz to
glean grain until the barley and wheat harvests were
finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
Wash
thyself therefore, and
anoint thee, and put thy
raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not
thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
Therefore wash
yourself, put on
perfume, and wear your best clothes. Go down to the
threshing floor, but do not let the man know you are there until he has
finished eating and drinking.
And when Boaz had eaten and
drunk, and his heart was
merry, he went to lie down at the end of the
heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.
After Boaz had
finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he went to lie down at the end of the
heap of grain. Then
Ruth went in secretly, uncovered his feet, and lay down.
Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
“Wait, my daughter,” said
Naomi, “until you
find out how things go, for he will not rest unless he has resolved the matter
today.”
So
Hannah rose up after they had eaten in
Shiloh, and after they had
drunk. Now
Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.
So after they had
finished eating and drinking in
Shiloh,
Hannah stood up. Now
Eli the priest was sitting on a chair by the
doorpost of the temple of the LORD.
And she said, Let thine
handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more
sad.
“May your
maidservant find favor with you,” said
Hannah. Then she went on her way, and she began eating again, and her face was no longer
downcast.
And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.
So Saul passed through the hill country of Ephraim and then through the land of Shalishah, but did not
find the
donkeys. He and the servant went through the region of Shaalim, but they were not there. Then they went through the land of Benjamin, and still they did not
find them.
As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall
straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he
doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be
bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall
find him.
As soon as you enter the city, you will
find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not eat until he comes, because he must
bless the sacrifice; after that, the guests will eat. Go up at once; you will
find him.”
When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt
find two men by
Rachel’s
sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The
asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the
asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
When you leave me
today, you will
find two men at
Rachel’s tomb in Zelzah on the border of Benjamin. They will say to you, ‘The
donkeys you seek have been found, and now your father has stopped
worrying about the
donkeys and started
worrying about you, asking, “What should I do about my son?”’
And when he had made an end of
prophesying, he came to the high place.
And when Saul had
finished prophesying, he went up to the high place.
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of
Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.
Then he had the tribe of Benjamin come forward by its clans, and the clan of Matri was selected.
Finally, Saul son of
Kish was selected. But when they looked for him, they could not
find him.
And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might
salute him.
Just as he
finished offering the burnt offering, Samuel arrived, and Saul went out to
greet him.
And
Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before
Jonathan; and his armourbearer
slew after him.
So
Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, with his
armor-bearer behind him. And the Philistines fell before
Jonathan, and his
armor-bearer followed and
finished them off.
And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me.
And Saul commanded his servants, “Find me someone who plays well, and bring him to me.”
“Find out whose son this young man is!” said the king.
And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of
Jonathan was
knit with the soul of David, and
Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
After David had
finished speaking with Saul, the souls of
Jonathan and David were
knit together, and
Jonathan loved him as himself.
But
Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David: and
Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take
heed to
thyself until the morning, and
abide in a secret place, and hide
thyself:
so he
warned David, saying, “My father Saul intends to kill you. Be on your guard in the morning;
find a secret place and hide there.
And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, so I can ask about you. And if I find out anything, I will tell you.”
Then went he also to
Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in
Ramah.
Finally, Saul himself left for
Ramah and came to the large
cistern at Secu, where he asked, “Where are Samuel and David?” “At Naioth in
Ramah,” he was told.
And, behold, I will send a
lad, saying, Go,
find out the arrows. If I expressly say unto the
lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of thee, take them; then come thou: for there is peace to thee, and no
hurt; as the LORD liveth.
Then I will send a boy and say, ‘Go, find the arrows!’ Now, if I expressly say to him, ‘Look, the arrows are on this side of you; bring them,’ then come, because as surely as the LORD lives, it is safe for you and there is no danger.
And he said unto his
lad, Run,
find out now the arrows which I shoot. And as the
lad ran, he shot an
arrow beyond him.
He said to the boy, “Run and
find the arrows I shoot.” And as the boy ran,
Jonathan shot an
arrow beyond him.
And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.
saying, “Do not be afraid, for my father Saul will never lay a hand on you. And you will be king over Israel, and I will be your second-in-command. Even my father Saul knows this is true.”
See therefore, and take knowledge of all the
lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
Observe and find out all the places where he hides. Then come back to me with certainty, and I will go with you. If he is in the land, I will search him out among all the clans of Judah.”
And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and
wept.
When David had
finished saying these things, Saul called back, “Is that your voice, David my son?” Then Saul
wept aloud For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore the LORD reward thee good for that thou hast done unto me this day.
When a man
finds his enemy, does he let him go away
unharmed? May the LORD reward you with good for what you have done for me this day.
Ask thy young men, and they will
shew thee. Wherefore let the young men
find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee,
whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.
Ask your young men, and they will tell you. So let my young men find favor with you, for we have come on the day of a feast. Please give whatever you can afford to your servants and to your son David.’”
Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that
pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good.
Now David had just finished saying, “In vain I have protected all that belonged to this man in the wilderness. Nothing that belongs to him has gone missing, yet he has paid me back evil for good.
Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and
enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at
Endor.
Then Saul said to his servants, “
Find me a woman who is a medium, so I can go and
consult her.” “There is a medium at
Endor,” his servants replied.
And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.
When David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of Hosts.
And charged the
messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,
and
instructed the
messenger, “When you have
finished giving the king all the details of the battle,
And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the king’s sons came, and lifted up their voice and
wept: and the king also and all his servants
wept very
sore.
And as he
finished speaking, the sons of the king came in,
wailing loudly. Then the king and all his servants also
wept very bitterly.
And the king said unto
Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall
find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and
shew me both it, and his
habitation:
Then the king said to
Zadok, “Return the ark of God to the city. If I
find favor in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me back and let me see both it and His dwelling place again.
Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that
pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I
humbly beseech thee that I may
find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.
So the king said to Ziba, “All that belongs to Mephibosheth is now yours!” “I
humbly bow before you,” said Ziba. “May I
find favor in your eyes, my lord the king!”
And the king, and all the people that were with him, came
weary, and refreshed themselves there.
Finally, the king and all the people with him arrived, exhausted. And there he refreshed himself.
So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the
dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.
Then we will attack David wherever we
find him, and we will descend on him like
dew on the ground. And of all the men with him, not even one will remain.
And when
Absalom’s servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is
Ahimaaz and
Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the
brook of water. And when they had sought and could not
find them, they returned to Jerusalem.
When
Absalom’s servants came to the woman at the house, they asked, “Where are
Ahimaaz and
Jonathan?” “They have crossed over the
brook,” she replied. The men searched but did not
find them, so they returned to Jerusalem.
And David said to
Abishai, Now shall
Sheba the son of Bichri do us more
harm than did
Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him
fenced cities, and escape us.
And David said to
Abishai, “Now
Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more
harm than
Absalom. Take your lord’s servants and pursue him, or he will
find fortified cities and
elude us.”
And there was yet a battle in
Gath, where was a man of great
stature, that had on every hand six
fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the
giant.
And there was still another battle at
Gath, where there was a man of great
stature with six
fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. He too was descended from Rapha,
And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the
Hivites, and of the
Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beer-
sheba.
They went toward the fortress of Tyre and all the cities of the
Hivites and
Canaanites.
Finally, they went on to the Negev of Judah, to
Beersheba.
And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when
Joab heard the sound of the
trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an
uproar?
Now Adonijah and all his guests were
finishing their feast when they heard the sound of the ram’s horn. “Why is the city in such a loud
uproar?” asked
Joab.
And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
Later, Solomon formed an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt by marrying his daughter. Solomon brought her to the City of David until he had finished building his palace and the house of the LORD, as well as the wall around Jerusalem.
And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of
fine flour, and
threescore measures of meal,
Solomon’s provisions for a single day were thirty cors of fine flour, sixty cors of meal,
And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor
axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
The temple was constructed using
finished stones cut at the
quarry, so that no hammer or
chisel or any other iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.
So he built the house, and
finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of
cedar.
So Solomon built the temple and
finished it, roofing it with beams and planks of
cedar.
So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
So Solomon built the temple and finished it.
And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had
finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the
oracle he overlaid with gold.
So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
And in the
eleventh year, in the month
Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house
finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
In his
eleventh year and eighth month, the month of
Bul, the temple was
finished in every detail and according to every
specification. So he built the temple in seven years.
But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
Solomon, however, took thirteen years to complete the construction of his entire palace.
And upon the top of the pillars was
lily work: so was the work of the pillars
finished.
And the tops of the pillars were shaped like
lilies. So the work of the pillars was completed.
And
Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So
Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:
Additionally, Huram made the pots, shovels, and
sprinkling bowls. So Huram
finished all the work that he had undertaken for King Solomon in the house of the LORD:
And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and
supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from
kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
Now when Solomon had
finished praying this entire prayer and petition to the LORD, he got up before the altar of the LORD, where he had been
kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.
And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
Now when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and had achieved all that he had desired to do,
And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.
Three times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar he had built for the LORD, burning incense with them before the LORD. So he completed the temple.
And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s loins.
The young men who had grown up with him replied, “This is how you should answer these people who said to you, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you should make it lighter.’ This is what you should tell them: ‘My little
finger is thicker than my father’s
waist!
And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had
drunk, that he
saddled for him the
ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back.
And after the man of God had
finished eating and drinking, the old prophet who had brought him back
saddled the
donkey for him.
And
Ahab said unto
Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all
brooks:
peradventure we may
find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.
Then
Ahab said to
Obadiah, “Go throughout the land to every spring and every valley. Perhaps we will
find grass to keep the horses and mules alive so that we will not have to destroy any
livestock.”
And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee
whither I know not; and so when I come and tell
Ahab, and he cannot
find thee, he shall
slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.
I do not know where the Spirit of the LORD may carry you off when I leave you. Then when I go and tell
Ahab and he does not
find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.
And
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou
push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
Now
Zedekiah son of Chenaanah had made for himself iron horns and declared, “This is what the LORD says: ‘With these you shall
gore the Arameans until they are
finished off.’”
And when they urged him till he was
ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
But when they pressed him to the point of
embarrassment, he said, “Send them.” And they sent fifty men, who searched for three days but did not
find Elijah.
And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and
drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.
So the king prepared a great feast for them, and after they had
finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. And the
Aramean raiders did not come into the land of Israel again.
And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?
He answered, “If the LORD does not help you, where can I
find help for you? From the
threshing floor or the winepress?”
Then
Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To
morrow about this time shall a measure of
fine flour be sold for a
shekel, and two measures of barley for a
shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
Then
Elisha said, “Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the LORD says: ‘About this time
tomorrow at the gate of Samaria, a
seah of
fine flour will sell for a
shekel, and two seahs of barley will sell for a
shekel.’”
Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good
tidings, and we hold our peace: if we
tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
Finally, they said to one another, “We are not doing what is right.
Today is a day of good news. If we are silent and wait until morning light, our sin will overtake us. Now, therefore, let us go and tell the king’s household.”
And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
But one of his servants replied, “Please, have scouts take five of the horses that remain in the city. Their
plight will be no worse than all the Israelites who are left here. You can see that all the Israelites here are
doomed. So let us send them and
find out.”
And the people went out, and
spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of
fine flour was sold for a
shekel, and two measures of barley for a
shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
Then the people went out and
plundered the camp of the Arameans. It was then that a
seah of
fine flour sold for a
shekel, and two seahs of barley sold for a
shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a
shekel, and a measure of
fine flour for a
shekel, shall be to
morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:
It happened just as the man of God had told the king: “About this time
tomorrow at the gate of Samaria, two seahs of barley will sell for a
shekel, and a
seah of
fine flour will sell for a
shekel.”
And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that
Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and
slay them; let none come forth. And they
smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of
Baal.
When he had

chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon, and will cut down the tall
cedar trees thereof, and the choice
