shaken.

blotted out.

never be
blotted out.

shew mercy, but
persecuted the poor and
needy man, that he might even
slay the broken in heart.

never thought to show kindness, but pursued the poor and
needy and brokenhearted, even to their death.

never be
shaken; the righteous man will be remembered
forever.

never full; so the eyes of man are
never satisfied.

never satisfied; so the eyes of man are
never satisfied.

never satisfied,
yea, four things say not, It is enough:
The
leech has two daughters: Give and Give. There are three things that are
never satisfied, four that
never say, ‘Enough!’:

womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

womb, land
never satisfied with water, and fire that
never says, ‘Enough!’

Thy princes are
rebellious, and companions of
thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither
doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

thieves. They all love bribes and
chasing after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, and the
plea of the widow
never comes before them.

Nevertheless, there will be no more
gloom for those in distress. In the past He humbled the land of
Zebulun and the land of
Naphtali, but in the future He will honor the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the nations:
It shall
never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the
shepherds make their fold there.

nomad will pitch his tent there, no
shepherd will rest his flock there.

And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be
purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

never be
atoned for,” says the Lord GOD of Hosts.
The earth shall
reel to and
fro like a
drunkard, and shall be removed like a
cottage; and the
transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
The earth
staggers like a
drunkard and sways like a
shack. Earth’s rebellion weighs it down, and it falls,
never to rise again.
For thou hast made of a city an
heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall
never be built.

heap of
rubble, the fortified town a ruin. The fortress of strangers is a city no more; it will
never be rebuilt.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in
Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make
haste.

Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will
never be
shaken.

never destroyed, O
traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished
betraying, you will be
betrayed.
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
He who walks righteously and speaks with
sincerity, who refuses gain from
extortion, whose hand
never takes a
bribe, who stops his ears against
murderous plots and shuts his eyes
tightly against evil—
I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

Which bringeth forth the
chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are
quenched as
tow.
Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are My servant, O Israel. I have made you, and you are My servant; O Israel, I will
never forget you.
Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest
carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

luxury who sits securely, who says to herself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me. I will
never be a widow or know the loss of children.’

never heard; you have
never understood; for a long time your ears have not been open. For I knew how
deceitful you are; you have been called a
rebel from birth.
Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy
bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
Your descendants would have been as countless as the sand, and your offspring as numerous as its grains; their name would
never be cut off or
eliminated from My presence.”
And kings shall be thy
nursing fathers, and their queens thy
nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and
lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be
ashamed that wait for me.
Kings will be your
foster fathers, and their queens your
nursing mothers. They will bow to you facedown and
lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in Me will
never be put to shame.”
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth below; for the heavens will
vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its people will die like gnats. But My salvation will last
forever, and My righteousness will
never fail.
Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of
trembling, even the
dregs of the cup of my
fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:
Thus says your Lord, the LORD, even your God, who defends His people: “See, I have removed from your hand the cup of
staggering. From that
goblet, the cup of My
fury, you will
never drink again.
Sing, O barren, thou that
didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry
aloud, thou that
didst not
travail with child: for more are the children of the
desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth in song and cry
aloud, you who have
never travailed; because more are the children of the
desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD.
For this is as the waters of
Noah unto me: for as I have
sworn that the waters of
Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I
sworn that I would not be
wroth with thee, nor
rebuke thee.
“For to Me this is like the days of
Noah, when I
swore that the waters of
Noah would
never again cover the earth. So I have
sworn that I will not be
angry with you or
rebuke you.
Instead of the
thorn shall come up the
fir tree, and instead of the
brier shall come up the
myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an
everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Instead of the thornbush, a
cypress will grow, and instead of the
brier, a
myrtle will spring up; they will make a name for the LORD, an
everlasting sign,
never to be destroyed.”
Yea, they are
greedy dogs which can
never have enough, and they are
shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
Like
ravenous dogs, they are
never satisfied. They are
shepherds with no
discernment; they all turn to their own way, each one seeking his own gain:
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in
drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
The LORD will always guide you; He will satisfy you in a sun-
scorched land and
strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters
never fail.
Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
Your gates will always stand open; they will
never be shut, day or night, so that the wealth of the nations may be brought into you, with their kings being led in
procession.
I have set
watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall
never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted
watchmen; they will
never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for
yourselves,
The LORD hath
sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
The LORD has
sworn by His right hand and by His mighty arm: “
Never again will I give your grain to your enemies for food, nor will foreigners drink the new wine for which you have
toiled.
We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.
We have become like those You never ruled, like those not called by Your name.
And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have
transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be
quenched; and they shall be an
abhorring unto all flesh.
“As they go forth, they will see the corpses of the men who have rebelled against Me; for their worm will
never die, their fire will
never be
quenched, and they will be a
horror to all mankind.”
And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
They will fight against you but will never overcome you, since I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD.
And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
“In those days, when you multiply and increase in the land,” declares the LORD, “they will no longer
discuss the ark of the covenant of the LORD. It will
never come to mind, and no one will remember it or miss it, nor will another one be made.
But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly
heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
Then I said, ‘How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations!’ I thought you would call Me ‘Father’ and never turn away from following Me.
Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
“Yet even in those days,” declares the LORD, “I will not make a full end of you.
And they have built the high places of
Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of
Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of
Hinnom so they could burn their sons and daughters in the fire—something I
never commanded, nor did it even enter My mind.
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor
rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with
indignation.
I
never sat with the band of revelers, nor did I
celebrate with them. Because Your hand was on me, I sat alone, for You have filled me with
indignation.
Then said they, Come, and let us
devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us
smite him with the tongue, and let us not give
heed to any of his words.
Then some said, “Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah, for the law will
never be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the wise, nor an
oracle to the prophet. Come, let us
denounce him and pay no
heed to any of his words.”
They have built also the high places of
Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto
Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:
They have built high places to
Baal on which to burn their children in the fire as offerings to
Baal—something I
never commanded or mentioned, nor did it even enter My mind.
And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a
potter’s vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall
bury them in
Tophet, till there be no place to
bury.
and you are to
proclaim to them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: I will
shatter this nation and this city, like one
shatters a
potter’s
jar that can
never again be repaired. They will
bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room to
bury them.
But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall
stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly
ashamed; for they shall not
prosper: their
everlasting confusion shall
never be forgotten.
But the LORD is with me like a
fearsome warrior. Therefore, my persecutors will
stumble and will not prevail. Since they have not succeeded, they will be utterly put to shame, with an
everlasting disgrace that will
never be forgotten.
Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
Cursed be the day I was born! May the day my mother bore me
never be blessed.
Weep ye not for the dead, neither
bemoan him: but
weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
Do not
weep for the dead king; do not
mourn his loss.
Weep bitterly for the one who is exiled, for he will
never return to see his native land.
For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of
Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of
Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
For this is what the LORD says concerning Shallum son of
Josiah, king of Judah, who succeeded his father
Josiah but has gone forth from this place: “He will
never return,
But he shall die in the place
whither they have led him
captive, and shall see this land no more.
but he will die in the place to which he was exiled; he will never see this land again.”
But to the land
whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.
You will never return to the land for which you long.”
And I will bring an
everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be
drunken, and
spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
“Then you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Drink, get
drunk, and
vomit. Fall down and
never get up again, because of the sword I will send among you.’
Nevertheless the hand of
Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
Nevertheless,
Ahikam son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.
Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people;
Nevertheless,
listen now to this message I am speaking in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people.
Therefore all they that
devour thee shall be
devoured; and all thine
adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that
spoil thee shall be a
spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.
Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of
Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the
herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
They will come and
shout for joy on the heights of
Zion; they will be
radiant over the
bounty of the LORD— the grain, new wine, and oil, and the young of the flocks and herds. Their life will be like a well-watered garden, and
never again will they
languish.
And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the
brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be
plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
The whole valley of the dead bodies and ashes, and all the fields as far as the Kidron Valley, to the corner of the Horse Gate to the east, will be holy to the LORD. It will
never again be uprooted or
demolished.”
And they built the high places of
Baal, which are in the valley of the son of
Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto
Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this
abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
They have built the high places of
Baal in the Valley of
Hinnom to make their sons and daughters pass through the fire to
Molech—something I
never commanded them, nor had it ever entered My mind, that they should commit such an
abomination and cause Judah to sin.
And I will make an
everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
I will make an
everlasting covenant with them: I will
never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will
never turn away from Me.
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will
reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
Nevertheless, I will bring to it health and
healing, and I will
heal its people and
reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.
For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
For this is what the LORD says: David will never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,
