taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land
whither ye go to possess it.

Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their
adversaries should
behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
if I had not
dreaded the
taunt of the enemy, lest their
adversaries misunderstand and say: ‘Our own hand has prevailed; it was not the LORD who did all this.’”
And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye did
upbraid me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thy men that are
weary?
And
Gideon went to the men of Succoth and said, “Here are Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you

weary men?’”
And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth.

And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she
provoked her; therefore she
wept, and did not eat.

taunted her until she
wept and would not eat.
(Also he
bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

Eleazar the son of
Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they
defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

Dodo the Ahohite. As one of the three mighty men, he went with David to
taunt the Philistines who had gathered for battle at
Pas-dammim. The men of Israel retreated,
And he spake of trees, from the
cedar tree that is in
Lebanon even unto the
hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of
creeping things, and of fishes.
He spoke of trees, from the
cedar in
Lebanon to the
hyssop growing in the wall, and he
taught about animals, birds, reptiles, and fish.

noon, that
Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry
aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or
peradventure he sleepeth, and must be
awaked.
At
noon Elijah began to
taunt them, saying, “
Shout louder, for he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or occupied, or on a journey. Perhaps he is sleeping and must be
awakened!”
Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in

taught them how they should fear the LORD.

Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou
exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Whom have you
taunted and
blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
By the messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my
chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon, and will cut down the tall
cedar trees thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his
Carmel.
Through your servants you have
taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many
chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of
Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its
cypresses. I have reached its
farthest outposts, the densest of its forests.
and when he
taunted Israel,
Jonathan the son of David’s brother Shimei killed him.
Then hear thou from heaven, and
forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast
taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.
then may You hear from heaven and
forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk. May You send rain on the land that You gave Your people as an inheritance.

pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the
trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land
rejoiced, and sounded with
trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as
taught to sing praise. Then
Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.
And she looked out and saw the king standing by his
pillar at the entrance. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were
rejoicing and blowing
trumpets, while the singers with musical instruments were leading the praises. Then
Athaliah tore her clothes and
screamed, “Treason, treason!”
And
Hezekiah spake
comfortably unto all the Levites that
taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.
And
Hezekiah encouraged all the Levites who performed
skillfully before the LORD. For seven days they
ate their assigned portion, sacrificing
fellowship offerings and giving
thanks to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

And
Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and
Ezra the priest the
scribe, and the Levites that
taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God;
mourn not, nor
weep. For all the people
wept, when they heard the words of the law.
Nehemiah the governor,
Ezra the priest and
scribe, and the Levites who were
instructing the people said to all of them, “This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not
mourn or
weep.” For all the people were
weeping as they heard the words of the Law.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall
laugh: the Lord shall have them in
derision.
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord taunts them.
For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should
rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they
magnify themselves against me.
For I said, “Let them not
gloat over me— those who
taunt me when my foot slips.”
As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Like the
crushing of my bones, my enemies
taunt me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
O God, thou hast
taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy
wondrous works.
O God, You have
taught me from my youth, and to this day I
proclaim Your
marvelous deeds.
O God, how long shall the
adversary reproach? shall the enemy
blaspheme thy name for ever?
Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are
mad against me are
sworn against me.
So shall I have
wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.
Then I can answer him who taunts, for I trust in Your word.
I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
I have not departed from Your ordinances, for You
Yourself have
taught me.
My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.
My lips pour forth praise, for You teach me Your statutes.
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
he taught me and said, “Let your heart lay hold of my words; keep my commands and you will live.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
I will guide you in the way of wisdom; I will lead you on straight paths.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
My son, be wise, and make my heart
glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart, so that I can answer him who taunts me.
The words of king
Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother
taught him.
These are the words of King
Lemuel—the burden that his mother
taught him:
And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still
taught the people knowledge;
yea, he gave good
heed, and sought out, and set in order many
proverbs.
Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also
taught the people knowledge; he
pondered, searched out, and arranged many
proverbs.
I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother’s house, who would
instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of
spiced wine of the juice of my
pomegranate.
I would lead you and bring you to the house of my mother who
taught me. I would give you
spiced wine to drink, the
nectar of my pomegranates.
Wherefore the Lord said,
Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is
taught by the
precept of men:
Therefore the Lord said: “These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is but rules taught by men.
Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou
exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Whom have you
taunted and
blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my
chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his
Carmel.
Through your servants you have
taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many
chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of
Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its
cypresses. I have reached its
farthest heights, the densest of its forests.
Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or informed Him as His
counselor?
With whom took he counsel, and who
instructed him, and
taught him in the path of judgment, and
taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
Whom did He
consult to
enlighten Him, and who
taught Him the paths of justice? Who imparted knowledge to Him and showed Him the way of understanding?
Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for
nought? they that rule over them make them to
howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is
blasphemed.
And now what have I here? declares the LORD. For My people have been taken without cause; those who rule them
taunt, declares the LORD, and My name is
blasphemed continually all day long.
And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Then all your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their prosperity.
Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
How
skillfully you pursue love! Even the most immoral of women could learn from your ways.
And they will
deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have
taught their tongue to speak lies, and
weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Each one betrays his friend; no one tells the truth. They have
taught their tongues to lie; they wear themselves out
committing iniquity.
But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after
Baalim, which their fathers
taught them:
Instead, they have followed the
stubbornness of their hearts and gone after the Baals, as their fathers
taught them.”
And it shall come to pass, if they will
diligently learn the ways of my people, to
swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they
taught my people to
swear by
Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
And if they will
diligently learn the ways of My people and
swear by My name, saying, ‘As surely as the LORD lives’—just as they once
taught My people to
swear by
Baal—then they will be established among My people.
What
wilt thou say when he shall
punish thee? for thou hast
taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in
travail?
What will you say when He sets over you close allies whom you
yourself trained? Will not pangs of
anguish grip you, as they do a woman in labor?
And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their
hurt, to be a reproach and a
proverb, a
taunt and a
curse, in all places
whither I shall drive them.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. You will die this year because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.’”
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will
punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath
taught rebellion against the LORD.
this is what the LORD says: ‘I will surely
punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good that I will bring to My people, declares the LORD, for he has preached rebellion against the LORD.’”
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I
taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not
hearkened to receive instruction.
They have turned their backs to Me and not their faces. Though I
taught them again and again, they would not
listen or
respond to discipline.
So it shall be a reproach and a
taunt, an instruction and an
astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall
execute judgments in thee in anger and in
fury and in
furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
So you will be a reproach and a
taunt, a
warning and a
horror to the nations around you, when I
execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and
raging fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.
Thus will I cause
lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be
taught not to do after your
lewdness.
Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
I will no longer allow the
taunts of the nations to be heard against you, and you will no longer
endure the reproach of the peoples or cause your nation to
stumble, declares the Lord GOD.”
And Ephraim is as an
heifer that is
taught, and loveth to
tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to
ride; Judah shall
plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.
Ephraim is a well-trained
heifer that loves to
thresh; but I will place a yoke on her fair neck. I will
harness Ephraim, Judah will
plow, and Jacob will break the hard ground.
I
taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I
healed them.
It was I who
taught Ephraim to walk, taking them in My arms, but they never realized that it was I who
healed them.
In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and
lament with a
doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly
spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
In that day they will take up a
proverb against you and
taunt you with this bitter
lamentation: ‘We are utterly ruined! He has changed the portion of my people. How He has removed it from me! He has
allotted our fields to traitors.’”
Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a
taunting proverb against him, and say,
Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
Will not all of these take up a
taunt against him, speaking with
mockery and
derision: ‘
Woe to him who amasses what is not his and makes himself rich with many loans! How long will this go on?’
I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of
Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and
magnified themselves against their border.
“I have heard the reproach of Moab and the insults of the
Ammonites, who have
taunted My people and threatened their borders.
This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and
magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
This they shall have in return for their pride, for
taunting and
mocking the people of the LORD of Hosts.
But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an
husbandman; for man
taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
He will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I work the land, for I was purchased as a servant in my youth.’
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

taught them as one having authority, and not as the
scribes.

taught them in their
synagogue,
insomuch that they were
astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

synagogue, and they were

taught as one who had authority, and not as the
scribes.

taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of
thieves.

synagogue and
taught: and there was a man whose right hand was
withered.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and
drunk in thy presence, and thou hast
taught in our streets.
Then you will say, ‘We
ate and
drank with you, and you
taught in our streets.’
And he
taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the
scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
Jesus was teaching at the temple every day, but the chief priests,
scribes, and leaders of the people were intent on killing Him.
And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he
taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the
scribes came upon him with the elders,
One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts and
proclaiming the gospel, the chief priests and
scribes, together with the elders, came up to Him.
And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
Every day Jesus
taught at the temple, but every evening He went out to
spend the night on the Mount of Olives.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be
taught by God.’
Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me—
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
About
halfway through the feast, Jesus went up to the temple courts and began to teach.
Then
cried Jesus in the temple as he
taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts,
cried out, “You know Me, and you know where I am from. I have not come of My own
accord, but He who sent Me is true. You do not know Him,
And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
Early in the morning He went back into the temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them.
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts, near the treasury. Yet no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

taught in the

taught many, they returned again to
Lystra, and to
