shew thee:

Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast
magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
Your servant has indeed found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great
kindness by
sparing my life. But I cannot run to the mountains; the
disaster will overtake me, and I will die.

wander from my father’s house, that I said unto her, This is thy
kindness which thou shalt
shew unto me; at every place
whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.

Sarah, ‘This is how you can show your
loyalty to me: Wherever we go, say of me, “He is my brother.”’”

swear unto me here by God that thou
wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the
kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast
sojourned.

girl to whom I say, ‘Please let down your

anointed the
pillar and made a solemn

mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.

kinds of gold

workmanship;
And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability, and knowledge in all
kinds of
craftsmanship,

weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that

rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel,
bewail the burning which the LORD hath
kindled.
Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Do not let your hair become
disheveled and do not
tear your garments, or else you will die, and the LORD will be
angry with the whole congregation. But your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may
mourn on account of the fire that the LORD has
ignited.
Every
raven after his
kind;
And the
owl, and the night
hawk, and the cuckow, and the
hawk after his
kind,
Yet these may ye eat of every flying
creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to
leap withal upon the earth;
However, you may eat the following
kinds of flying insects that walk on all fours: those having jointed legs above their feet for
hopping on the ground.
The following creatures that move along the ground are unclean for you: the
mole, the
mouse, any
kind of great
lizard,
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle
gender with a
diverse kind: thou shalt not
sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
You are to keep My statutes. You shall not
crossbreed two different
kinds of
livestock; you shall not
sow your fields with two
kinds of seed; and you shall not wear clothing made of two
kinds of material.
And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as
uncircumcised: three years shall it be as
uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.

Balaam, and he became
furious and beat her with his staff.
And Balak’s anger was
kindled against
Balaam, and he
smote his hands together: and Balak said unto
Balaam, I called thee to
curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.

Balaam, and he struck his hands together and said to
Balaam, “I summoned you to
curse my enemies, but behold, you have
persisted in blessing them these three times.

kindled the same time, and he
sware, saying,
So the anger of the LORD was
kindled that day, and He
swore an oath, saying,
And the LORD’S anger was
kindled against Israel, and he made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had done evil in His sight was gone.
Take ye therefore good
heed unto
yourselves; for ye saw no manner of
similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in
Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
So since you saw no form of any
kind on the day the LORD spoke to you out of the fire at
Horeb, be careful
(For the LORD thy God is a
jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be
kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
For the LORD your God, who is among you, is a
jealous God. Otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be
kindled against you, and He will
wipe you off the face of the earth.
For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
because they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and He will swiftly destroy you.
And then the LORD’S wrath be
kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
or the anger of the LORD will be
kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.
And every
raven after his
kind,
And the
owl, and the night
hawk, and the cuckow, and the
hawk after his
kind,
And the anger of the LORD was
kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
Therefore the anger of the LORD burned against this land, and He brought upon it every
curse written in this book.
Then my anger shall be
kindled against them in that day, and I will
forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be
devoured, and many evils and troubles shall
befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
On that day My anger will burn against them, and I will
abandon them and hide My face from them, so that they will be consumed, and many troubles and afflictions will
befall them. On that day they will say, ‘Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is no longer with us?’
For a fire is
kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest
hell, and shall
consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
For a fire has been
kindled by My anger, and it burns to the depths of
Sheol; it consumes the earth and its produce, and scorches the foundations of the mountains.
Now therefore, I pray you,
swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you
kindness, that ye will also
shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true
token:
Now therefore, please
swear to me by the LORD that you will indeed show
kindness to my family, because I showed
kindness to you. Give me a sure sign
And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

Rahab, her father and mother and brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her whole family and settled them outside the camp of Israel.
But the children of Israel committed a
trespass in the
accursed thing: for
Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the
accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was
kindled against the children of Israel.
The Israelites, however, acted unfaithfully regarding the things devoted to destruction.
Achan son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart. So the anger of the LORD burned against the Israelites.
When ye have
transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed
yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
If you
transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from this good land He has given you.”

kindly.”

slew at
Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.

Gideon asked Zebah and Zalmunna, “What
kind of men did you kill at
Tabor?” “Men like you,” they answered, “each one resembling the son of a king.”
Neither shewed they
kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely,
Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.

kindness to the house of Jerubbaal (that is,
Gideon) for all the good things he had done for Israel.

kindled.

And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and
slew thirty men of them, and took their
spoil, and gave change of garments unto them which
expounded the
riddle. And his anger was
kindled, and he went up to his father’s house.
Then the Spirit of the LORD came
mightily upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, killed thirty of their men, took their
apparel, and gave their clothes to those who had

damsel saw him, he
rejoiced to meet him.

And she went, and came, and
gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her
hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the
kindred of Elimelech.
So
Ruth departed and went out into the field and
gleaned after the harvesters. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.
Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine
handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.
“My lord,” she said, “may I continue to find favor in your eyes, for you have comforted and spoken
kindly to your
maidservant, though I am not like one of your servant girls.”
And
Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his
kindness to the living and to the dead. And
Naomi said unto her, The man is near of
kin unto us, one of our next
kinsmen.
Then
Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May he be blessed by the LORD, who has not withdrawn His
kindness from the living or the dead.”
Naomi continued, “The man is a close relative. He is one of our
kinsman-redeemers.”
And now is not Boaz of our
kindred, with whose maidens thou
wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.
Now is not Boaz, with whose servant girls you have been working, a relative of ours? In fact,
tonight he is
winnowing barley on the
threshing floor.
And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
Then Boaz said, “May the LORD
bless you, my daughter. You have shown more
kindness now than before, because you have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor.

smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.
Woe to us! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all
kinds of plagues in the wilderness.
