Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long
wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had
indignation these
threescore and ten years?
Then the angel of the LORD said, “How long, O LORD of Hosts,
will You
withhold mercy from Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which You have been
angry these seventy years?”
Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with
mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there My house will be rebuilt, declares the LORD of Hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.’
Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort
Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Proclaim further that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘My cities
will again overflow with prosperity; the LORD
will again comfort
Zion and choose Jerusalem.’”
And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
and said to him, “Run and tell that young man: ‘Jerusalem
will be a city without walls because of the multitude of men and
livestock within it.
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
For I will be a wall of fire around it, declares the LORD, and I will be the glory within it.’”
For, behold, I
will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a
spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
I
will surely wave My hand over them, so that they
will become
plunder for their own servants. Then you
will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me.”
Sing and
rejoice, O daughter of
Zion: for, lo, I come, and I
will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy and be
glad, O Daughter of
Zion, for I am coming to dwell among you,” declares the LORD.
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
“On that day many nations will join themselves to the LORD, and they will become My people. I will dwell among you, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you.
And the LORD shall
inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His portion in the Holy Land, and He will once again choose Jerusalem.
And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the
filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I
will clothe thee with change of
raiment.
So the angel said to those standing before him, “Take off his
filthy clothes!” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have removed your iniquity, and I
will clothe you with splendid robes.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou
wilt walk in my ways, and if thou
wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I
will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘If you walk in My ways and keep My instructions, then you
will govern My house and
will also have charge of My courts; and I
will give you a place among these who are standing here.
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
Hear now, O high priest Joshua, you and your companions seated before you, who are indeed a sign. For behold, I am going to bring My servant, the Branch.
For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I
will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I
will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
See the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I
will engrave on it an inscription, declares the LORD of Hosts, and I
will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, you
will each
invite your
neighbor to sit under your own vine and fig tree.’”
Who art thou, O great mountain? before
Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the
headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
What are you, O great mountain? Before
Zerubbabel you
will become a plain. Then he
will bring forth the
capstone accompanied by shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”
The hands of
Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
“The hands of
Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands
will complete it. Then you
will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you.
For who hath
despised the day of small things? for they shall
rejoice, and shall see the
plummet in the hand of
Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and
fro through the whole earth.
For who has
despised the day of small things? But these seven eyes of the LORD, which
scan the whole earth,
will rejoice when they see the
plumb line in the hand of
Zerubbabel.”
Then said he unto me, This is the
curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
Then he told me, “This is the
curse that is going out over the face of all the land, for according to one side of the
scroll, every
thief will be removed; and according to the other side, every
perjurer will be removed.
I
will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the
thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall
consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
I
will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it
will enter the house of the
thief and the house of him who swears falsely by My name. It
will remain inside his house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”
And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of
Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
“To build a house for it in the land of
Shinar,” he told me. “And when it is ready, the
basket will be set there on its
pedestal.”
And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
And you are to tell him that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Here is a man whose name is the Branch, and He will branch out from His place and build the temple of the LORD.
Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
Yes, He
will build the temple of the LORD; He
will be clothed in
splendor and
will sit on His throne and rule. And He
will be a priest on His throne, and there
will be peaceful counsel between the two.’
And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to
Hen the son of
Zephaniah, for a
memorial in the temple of the LORD.
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye
will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
Even those far away
will come and build the temple of the LORD, and you
will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you. This
will happen if you
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.”
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto
Zion, and
will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
This is what the LORD says: “I
will return to
Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem
will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of Hosts
will be called the Holy Mountain.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Old men and old women will again sit along the streets of Jerusalem, each with a staff in hand because of great age.
And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west.
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
I will bring them back to dwell in Jerusalem, where they will be My people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.”
But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.
But now I
will not treat the
remnant of this people as I did in the past,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their
dew; and I
will cause the
remnant of this people to possess all these things.
“For the seed
will be prosperous, the vine
will yield its fruit, the ground
will yield its produce, and the
skies will give their
dew. To the
remnant of this people I
will give all these things as an inheritance.
And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a
curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so
will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
As you have been a
curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I
will save you, and you
will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and
gladness, and
cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the tenth months
will become times of joy and
gladness,
cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore you are to love both truth and peace.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Peoples will yet come—the residents of many cities—
And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
and the residents of one city
will go to another, saying: ‘Let us go at once to
plead before the LORD and to seek the LORD of Hosts. I myself am going.’
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.
And many peoples and strong nations
will come to seek the LORD of Hosts in Jerusalem and to
plead before the LORD.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the
skirt of him that is a
Jew, saying, We
will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue
will tightly grasp the
robe of a
Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”
Behold, the Lord
will cast her out, and he
will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be
devoured with fire.
Behold, the Lord
will impoverish her and cast her wealth into the sea, and she
will be consumed by fire.
Ashkelon shall see it, and fear;
Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and
Ekron; for her expectation shall be
ashamed; and the king shall perish from
Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
Ashkelon
will see and fear;
Gaza will writhe in
agony, as
will Ekron, for her hope
will wither. There
will cease to be a king in
Gaza, and Ashkelon
will be uninhabited.
And a
bastard shall dwell in
Ashdod, and I
will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
A mixed race
will occupy
Ashdod, and I
will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
And I
will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and
Ekron as a Jebusite.
I
will remove the blood from their mouths and the abominations from between their teeth. Then they too
will become a
remnant for our God; they
will become like a clan in Judah, and
Ekron will be like the Jebusites.
And I
will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no
oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.
But I
will camp around My house because of an army, because of those who march to and
fro, and never again
will an
oppressor overrun My people, for now I keep watch with My own eyes.
And I
will cut off the
chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from river even to the ends of the earth.
And I
will cut off the
chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow of war
will be broken. Then He
will proclaim peace to the nations. His dominion
will extend from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.
As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
As for you, because of the blood of My covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless pit.
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
Return to your
stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even
today I declare that I
will restore to you double.
When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O
Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
For I
will bend Judah as My bow and fit it with Ephraim. I
will rouse your sons, O
Zion, against the sons of Greece. I
will make you like the sword of a mighty man.
And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his
arrow shall go forth as the
lightning: and the LORD GOD shall blow the
trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
Then the LORD
will appear over them, and His
arrow will go forth like
lightning. The Lord GOD
will sound the ram’s horn and advance in the whirlwinds of the south.
The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall
devour, and
subdue with
sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like
bowls, and as the corners of the altar.
The LORD of Hosts
will shield them. They
will destroy and
conquer with slingstones; they
will drink and
roar as with wine. And they
will be filled like
sprinkling bowls,
drenched like the corners of the altar.
And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an
ensign upon his land.
On that day the LORD their God
will save them as the flock of His people; for like jewels in a crown they
will sparkle over His land.
For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men
cheerful, and new wine the maids.
How lovely they
will be, and how beautiful! Grain
will make the young men
flourish, and new wine, the young women.
Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Ask the LORD for rain in
springtime; the LORD makes the storm clouds, and He
will give
everyone showers of rain and crops in the field.
Mine anger was
kindled against the
shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
“My anger burns against the
shepherds, and I
will punish the leaders. For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock, the house of Judah; He
will make them like His royal
steed in battle.
Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the
nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every
oppressor together.
The cornerstone
will come from Judah, the tent
peg from him, as well as the battle bow and every ruler together.
And they shall be as mighty men, which
tread down their enemies in the
mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
They
will be like mighty men in battle,
trampling the enemy in the
mire of the streets. They
will fight because the LORD is with them, and they
will put the
horsemen to shame.
And I
will strengthen the house of Judah, and I
will save the house of Joseph, and I
will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and
will hear them.
I
will strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I
will restore them because I have
compassion on them, and they
will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I
will answer them.
And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall
rejoice as through wine:
yea, their children shall see it, and be
glad; their heart shall
rejoice in the LORD.
Ephraim
will be like a mighty man, and their hearts
will be
glad as with wine. Their children
will see it and be joyful; their hearts
will rejoice in the LORD.
I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
I
will whistle for them to gather, for I have redeemed them; and they
will be as numerous as they once were.
And I
will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
Though I
sow them among the nations, they
will remember Me in distant lands; they and their children
will live and return.
I
will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I
will bring them into the land of
Gilead and
Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
I
will bring them back from Egypt and gather them from Assyria. I
will bring them to
Gilead and
Lebanon until no more room is found for them.
And he shall pass through the sea with
affliction, and shall
smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the
sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
They
will pass through the sea of distress and strike the waves of the sea; all the depths of the Nile
will dry up. The pride of Assyria
will be brought down, and the
scepter of Egypt
will depart.
And I
will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.
I
will strengthen them in the LORD, and in His name they
will walk,” declares the LORD.
For I
will no more
pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I
will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall
smite the land, and out of their hand I
will not deliver them.
For I
will no longer have
compassion on the people of the land, declares the LORD, but behold, I
will cause each man to fall into the hands of his
neighbor and his king, who
will devastate the land, and I
will not deliver it from their hands.”
And I
will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two
staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
So I pastured the flock marked for slaughter, especially the
afflicted of the flock. Then I took for myself two staffs, calling one Favor and the other Union, and I pastured the flock.
Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Then I said, “I
will no longer
shepherd you. Let the dying die, and the perishing perish; and let those who remain
devour one another’s flesh.”
For, lo, I
will raise up a
shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor
heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and
tear their claws in pieces.
For behold, I
will raise up a
shepherd in the land who
will neither care for the lost, nor seek the young, nor
heal the broken, nor
sustain the healthy, but he
will devour the flesh of the choice sheep and
tear off their
hooves.
Behold, I
will make Jerusalem a cup of
trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
“Behold, I
will make Jerusalem a cup of
drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples. Judah
will be besieged, as well as Jerusalem.
And in that day
will I make Jerusalem a
burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
On that day, when all the nations of the earth gather against her, I
will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who would
heave it away
will be severely injured.
In that day, saith the LORD, I
will smite every horse with
astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I
will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and
will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
On that day, declares the LORD, I
will strike every horse with
panic, and every rider with madness. I
will keep a watchful eye on the house of Judah, but I
will strike with blindness all the horses of the nations.
And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts: ‘The people of Jerusalem are my strength, for the LORD of Hosts is their God.’
In that day
will I make the governors of Judah like an
hearth of fire among the wood, and like a
torch of fire in a
sheaf; and they shall
devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
On that day I
will make the clans of Judah like a
firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming
torch among the
sheaves; they
will consume all the peoples around them on the right and on the left, while the people of Jerusalem remain secure there.
The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not
magnify themselves against Judah.
The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not be greater than that of Judah.
In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD going before them.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
So on that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
And I
will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall
mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his
firstborn.
Then I
will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayer, and they
will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They
will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and
grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a
firstborn son.
In that day shall there be a great
mourning in Jerusalem, as the
mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
And the land shall
mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of
Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
The land
will mourn, each clan on its own: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of
Nathan and their wives,
In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
“On that day a fountain
will be opened to the house of David and the people of Jerusalem, to
cleanse them from sin and impurity.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
And on that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I
will erase the names of the idols from the land, and they
will no longer be remembered. I
will also remove the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land.
And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet
prophesy, then his father and his mother that
begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that
begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
And if
anyone still prophesies, his father and mother who bore him
will say to him, ‘You shall not remain alive, because you have spoken falsely in the name of the LORD.’ When he prophesies, his father and mother who bore him
will pierce him through.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be
ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath
prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to
deceive:
And on that day every prophet who prophesies
will be
ashamed of his vision, and he
will not put on a
hairy cloak in order to
deceive.
But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an
husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
He will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I work the land, for I was purchased as a servant in my youth.’
And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
If someone asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your chest?’ he will answer, ‘These are the wounds I received in the house of my friends.’
Awake, O sword, against my
shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts:
smite the
shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I
will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
Awake, O sword, against My
Shepherd, against the man who is My Companion, declares the LORD of Hosts. Strike the
Shepherd, and the sheep
will be scattered, and I
will turn My hand against the little ones.
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it.
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy
spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Behold, a day of the LORD is coming when your
plunder will be divided in your presence.
For I
will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses
rifled, and the women
ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
For I
will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city
will be captured, the houses
looted, and the women
ravished. Half of the city
will go into exile, but the rest of the people
will not be removed from the city.
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall
cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.
And ye shall
flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:
yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
You
will flee by My mountain valley, for it
will extend to Azal. You
will flee as you fled from the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God
will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
On that day there
will be no light, no cold or
frost.
But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
It will be a day known only to the LORD, without day or night; but when evening comes, there will be light.
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
And on that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the Eastern Sea and the other half toward the Western Sea, in summer and winter alike.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
On that day the LORD will become King over all the earth—the LORD alone, and His name alone.
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
All the land from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem
will be turned into a plain, but Jerusalem
will be raised up and
will remain in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
People will live there, and never again will there be an utter destruction. So Jerusalem will dwell securely.
And this shall be the plague
wherewith the LORD
will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall
consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall
consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall
consume away in their mouth.
And this
will be the plague with which the LORD strikes all the peoples who have
warred against Jerusalem: Their flesh
will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes
will rot in their sockets, and their tongues
will rot in their mouths.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great
tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
On that day a great
panic from the LORD
will come upon them, so that each
will seize the hand of another, and the hand of one
will rise against the other.
And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and
apparel, in great abundance.
Judah
will also fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations
will be collected—gold, silver, and
apparel in great abundance.
And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the
mule, of the
camel, and of the
ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.
And a similar plague
will strike the horses and mules, camels and
donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.
