lyre, O Holy One of Israel.

harp and
lyre.

My beloved is like a
roe or a young
hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows,

lattice.

flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a
roe or a young
hart upon the mountains of Bether.
Before the day breaks and shadows
flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a
gazelle or a young
stag on the mountains of Bether.

haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a
roe or to a young
hart upon the mountains of spices.

gazelle or a young
stag on the mountains of spices.

harp, and the
viol, the
tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.

hardly bestead and
hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be

harvest, and as men

harvest time, as men
rejoice in dividing the
plunder.

hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

envy Judah, nor will Judah
harass Ephraim.
And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the
hard bondage wherein thou
wast made to serve,
On the day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and
torment, and from the
hard labor into which you were forced,

pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

pomp has been brought down to
Sheol, along with the music of your
harps. Maggots are your bed and worms your
blanket.
Therefore shall Moab
howl for Moab, every one shall
howl: for the foundations of Kir-
hareseth shall ye
mourn; surely they are
stricken.

wail; let them
wail together for Moab.

raisin cakes of Kir-
hareseth, you who are utterly

bewail with the
weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O
Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the
shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy
harvest is fallen.
So I
weep with Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I
drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears.
Triumphant shouts have fallen silent over your summer fruit and your
harvest.
Wherefore my
bowels shall sound like an
harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-
haresh.
Therefore my heart laments for Moab like a
harp, my inmost being for Kir-heres.
And it shall be as when the
harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of
Rephaim.

reaper gathers the standing grain and
harvests the ears with his arm, as one gleans heads of grain in the Valley of
Rephaim.
In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to
flourish: but the
harvest shall be a
heap in the day of grief and of
desperate sorrow.

sprout— yet the
harvest will
vanish on the day of disease and incurable pain.
For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of
dew in the heat of
harvest.

shimmering heat in the
sunshine, like a cloud of
dew in the heat of
harvest.”
For
afore the
harvest, when the
bud is perfect, and the
sour grape is
ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruninghooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

harvest, when the
blossom is gone and the flower becomes a
ripening grape, He will cut off the shoots with a
pruning knife and remove and discard the branches.

The burden of Tyre.
Howl, ye ships of
Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of
Chittim it is revealed to them.

Tarshish, for Tyre is laid waste, without house or
harbor. Word has reached them from the land of
Cyprus.
And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the
harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a
mart of nations.
On the great waters came the grain of Shihor; the harvest of the Nile was the revenue of Tyre; she was the merchant of the nations.
Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of
Tarshish: there is no more strength.
Howl, ye ships of
Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an
harlot.
At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years—the span of a king’s life. But at the end of seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the
harlot:
Take an
harp, go about the city, thou
harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet
melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
“Take up your
harp,
stroll through the city, O forgotten
harlot. Make sweet
melody, sing many a song, so you will be remembered.”
